      Not a bad choice for a first car. I wanted one of these when I was a senior in highschool when they were new... It only took me 28 years but now I have one! The white one in this video is mine.

      I got one 4 months ago, get pre purchase inspection😂 but I’m in love with it. The way it ride is so smooth and unique, and the seat movement makes driving either fun or relaxing your choice. You can drive like a grandma and feel like a gangsta, or give it some gas and make your friends heads hit the seat.

    Then the Mk3 (new body) was UCF20, Mk4 UCF 21
    LS430 was UCF30, and so on.

    Awesome to see all three versions of the legendary LS400 lined up together.😍
    My Mother has driven a 93 LS for the past six years, and I have had the pleasure of owning a 2000 LS for just over a year now. We cherish these automotive masterpieces and are never parting with them.
    I must correct you though, the 95-97s only had 260 hp with a 4 speed. Only the 98-00 had 290 hp with a 5 speed. The difference is noticeable when you drive the two and compare.
    Anyway, I appreciate the vid.👍
    Peace to all the Lexus lovers worldwide.🌎

    I need to buy a reliable car from 5 to 10 grand. I'm looking at the LS400 or the ES300 all-wheel drive. I can't decide

    • @JapaneseMinitruck
      @JapaneseMinitruck  5 месяцев назад

      I would totally go LS400, the ES might be a little cheaper, but the LS is just so cool especially given the fact that it has the one you see in a couple cool luxury options, the ES all wheel drive, though I guess would be cool, especially if you live in the state that has snow, I didn't realize they made an all-wheel-drive ES!

  • @BasketballAve

    First generation is heavier metals used in their rods and pistons. Also first generation is “non interference”. So if a timing belt snaps no big deal. The biggest Con of owning these cars is pray the Starter doesn’t die on you…a plus is the fuel pump is located behind the rear seat. ✌🏽

      @viczvapo Год назад +2

      Any pros on the later models?

    • @BasketballAve
      @BasketballAve Год назад +2

      @@viczvapo yes the 95 to 97 came with a wider wheel base and a better air flow meter (hot wire) the 89-94uses a optical Air flow meter which is problematic I’m always trying to grab a couple for spares. To me these were designed to look like a Benz but the OG first model is a Japanese Design. 98-2001 was then they added the VVTI which increased horsepower from 260 up to 300 HP. These cars are built to cruise on the highway. And they are solid at high speeds. The first generation is the lightest chassis.
      All models have the 1UZ but if you get 95 and up be sure to check the timing belt. Those are all interference motors. Only 1UZ from 89-94 were none interference.
      95-97 they changed the head and the clearance was reduced so it became interference. Also they used lighter rods and pistons…Only the OG is over built sporting forged internals which the bottom end can take up to 800 hps. Also has a 6 bolt main. Phenomenal piece of machinery on my opinion.

    • @viczvapo
      @viczvapo Год назад +2

      @@BasketballAve thanks a lot for your response. I want to do some additional research, thanks for the inspiration on this knowledge, didn’t know it was that extensive differences. I’m most curious about the “over built” piece as I’m making a purchase on a ls400 from 2000. Hoping with all the maintenance that it can also uphold the first generations. Planning on keeping it long term, minor regular maintenance, that it’s not an expensive car to have. Thanks a lot for your response.

    • @BasketballAve
      @BasketballAve Год назад +3

      @@viczvapo for sure the 2000 model is more horsepower but you do have to maintain that timing belt. But definitely a great ride that’s my other favorite model other my first gen. I was torn between the 2 what made me get this one was the non interference and over built bottom end. For sure a great ride.
