Wano takes a lot of inspiration from old legends, so Oda had to do a lot of research, doubt anyone just casually knows the amount of stuff that inspired this arc. From Yamato's entire character (and her devil fruit), to the layout of Wano, to the tale of Momotaro, the cave in Yamato's backstory, the name of Kaido's attacks being based on budhaism, Komachiyo's design, and a laaaaaaarge etc. Wano is packed with a million references to different tales and legends from Japan.

Everything in this scene is awesome. The small black and white frames of dramatic moment, the silence (no music) with the thunder sounds in the background, the Thunder Bagua Kanji written in purple lightning, and of course Yamato's and Ulti VA doing great works. Awesome.
The recap and opening being long is nothing new, I'm used to it, but the fact that we had Ulti go second by second the last sequence of last episode was dumb as hell. Ah well, better flashback than an even longer headbutt clash.

Honestly with the latest chapters updates on Yamato's strength she could have completely blown Ulti's head off here if she wanted but just didn't for reasons I guess
Luffy forgot he was rubber, this happens sometimes, he could just stretch his arms to get out of Ulti's grab, circle around her and squease her with his arms or throw her off.

Luffy taking 20 seconds to jump or his arms stretching slowly don't really convey the sense of urgency that it should. Same can be said for anything else, for example luffy taking 5 mins to get up. However fluid the movements are, they are not good animation if they don't convey the correct feeling. Note that I'm not questioning the staff at work. They are clearly wayyy talented and I'm sure they're dealing the best with what they have been given, it's just a losing battle when they ask you to animate 1 chapter per episode
