Considering the punishment ulti takes in wano in general while still managing to keep going, outside of Kaido and Big mom shes got like the best endurance in the arc

Wano takes a lot of inspiration from old legends, so Oda had to do a lot of research, doubt anyone just casually knows the amount of stuff that inspired this arc. From Yamato's entire character (and her devil fruit), to the layout of Wano, to the tale of Momotaro, the cave in Yamato's backstory, the name of Kaido's attacks being based on budhaism, Komachiyo's design, and a laaaaaaarge etc. Wano is packed with a million references to different tales and legends from Japan.
Yeah.. We all knew Wano portrays the Japanese culture..

The fight felt a bit underwhelmed tbh, they made luffy look like he's slow and struggling, while in reality he didn't break a sweat speedblitzing both of them.
I guess it's because Luffy didn't want to use that much power, because he understands that there's way tougher opponents ahead

fun fact: out of the 24 minutes the episode had, over 6 minutes were flashbacks + opening
the Ulti fight was pretty good though
The recap and opening being long is nothing new, I'm used to it, but the fact that we had Ulti go second by second the last sequence of last episode was dumb as hell. Ah well, better flashback than an even longer headbutt clash.

Everything in this scene is awesome. The small black and white frames of dramatic moment, the silence (no music) with the thunder sounds in the background, the Thunder Bagua Kanji written in purple lightning, and of course Yamato's and Ulti VA doing great works. Awesome.

I’ve been watching one piece episodes in 1.25x speed lately because of the excruciating pace
true comparing to how used to be its went downhill its like they bored of doing them putting no effort to make them look good
Nothing new. One Pace compressed 4 episodes (88 minutes) into 33 minutes.

@@memeduka care to explain? I'm genuinely curios. To me animation functions only if it conveys a precise emotion as it should. Luffy taking 20 seconds to jump or his arms stretching slowly don't really convey the sense of urgency that it should. Same can be said for anything else, for example luffy taking 5 mins to get up. However fluid the movements are, they are not good animation if they don't convey the correct feeling.
Note that I'm not questioning the staff at work. They are clearly wayyy talented and I'm sure they're dealing the best with what they have been given, it's just a losing battle when they ask you to animate 1 chapter per episode

Luffy forgot he was rubber, this happens sometimes, he could just stretch his arms to get out of Ulti's grab, circle around her and squease her with his arms or throw her off.

This was supposed to be a speedblitzing attack, it should be like Zoro's Shishi Sonson on Kuma. The slow motion definitely ruins it for me. The entire episode felt like slow motion.
Bro they finally fixed the raimei hakke in terms of animation. Kaidos animation made ppl think luffy was able to see and react to the attack. While yamatos animation shows that ulti couldn’t even really see the attack until it was way too late
Wait for One Pace to fix it like they fixed King Kong Gun.

And yes I understand that Toei is trying to fill the episode but it easily gets annoying.
God when she said "THUNDERRRR⛈ 🌩 ⚡ BAGUAAAA" it sent chills up my spine, reminiscent of gear 4 vs Kaido, nothing as intense as naotoshi shida doing a scene though!

i dont think most people get that. Even though thunder bagua is a speed blitz attack, toei really did better than kaido v luffy. When ulti noticed that she was being attacked, that slowed down effect of the club already in her face, followed by the immediate thunder shockwave after the attack really connected, actually portrays how fast and powerful this attack is.

To be honest, this comment section is acting like they could do better animation. For one they have to prong the scenes so they don't get to close to the anime and they basically use 3 chapters every episode. People act like they should go word for word panel by panel and that's it. If that were the case, then one piece would be less exciting.
On top of that, lots of people are acting like they're professional animators like please relax. And I know that some people are just expressing there opinion but some of these people act like this was the last season animation of the seven deadly sins.
