      @@kodybecker89 I believe I've put 3,200 or so miles on it so far. Getting 24.9 MPG average overall. Unsure about just highway MPG, as I haven't set the trip meter for specifically highway trips. I would guess I'm getting 26-27 highway. My average MPG is a good mix of city and highway.
      While I went from getting 28 MPG average in my 2015 Outback, to 24-25 in the Wilderness, it's absolutely worth it! I don't know how I lived without a turbocharger and the extra 100 horsepower lol. Not to mention the sound system actually sounds quite good for a stock system.

    2022 OBW owner here. Had it since July '21 right after they were introduced. Chicago winters, offroading, rain storms, deep puddles, potholes, medium/deep mud, slippery hills, curbs, flooded highways have not stopped my car. After adding skid-plates, and other reinforcement, it's even more capable. The mods coming out for this car to enhance it's capability is awesome. Really solid platform for a bug-out vehicle when you need to bolt. It's size is JUST RIGHT compared to an SUV. Extremely happy with my purchase.

      I’m glad you’ve had such favorable experiences, and you summed it up quite well. 🙂 That’s the same impression and experience I’ve had or expect out of my Wilderness. How many miles do you have now? I bought mine 9/21 and around 28k. It no longer gets much drive time since I bought a Miata. 😅

    I have thoroughly enjoyed both my 2022 and 2023 Outback Wilderness. My 2022 saved my life. Someone was leaving an shopping center, and I suspect she hit the accelerator instead of the brakes. My car flipped a couple times and landed upside down. I walked out of it with only a concussion.
    I just came back from a road trip in my 2023. On one leg of the trip, I was getting 31MPG. I was averaging 29 to 30 MPG on the highway. The car can get respectable milage if you do not drive it like you stole it. So many love to hit the turbo and go. I may upgrade my speakers (not going to spend the $$$ to get the H-K system upgrade from the factory), and I live in Texas, so a heated steering wheel is not a deal breaker for me.

    This geyser blue looks outstanding on the OBW. I appreciate that you film various perspectives of the vehicle several times in full sun, not in the shade. Did you consider this color before you chose the silver on your OBW?

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  Год назад +2

      I’m glad you found it helpful! The blue is a very cool color, especially where it was the launch color and specific to only the Wilderness line. But personally I didn’t give it much consideration, I really like the Ice Silver Metallic. I owned a blue crosstrek for 2 years prior to the OBW, and I never loved it. I always wished it was silver, but they didn’t have one on the lot when I was offered a killer deal on my Tacoma as a trade in. Best of luck in what you decide! 🙂

      @@AutomotiveAnonymous208 I think the Ice Silver looks sharp on the Wilderness and it contrasts well against the black cladding and trim. I like the OBW but for my needs would probably go with a Limited XT in Cosmic Blue or Magnetite Grey.

      I agree! And the Silver always looks pretty good clean or dirty. I drive early in the morning (sometimes before snowplows are out) and up to 30k miles a year doing therapy and I have become pretty bad at washing my cars knowing the next drive they’ll get dirty again, lol. That’s why I drive a silver Wilderness. 🥲 But you gotta pick what will work best for you, and a clean Blue or Grey Outback sure looks good! Very rich colors in person. 🙂
