These guys go down with legends- laurel & hardy, Gleason & Carney, Abbot & Costello, & of course Pryor & Wilder. Funny thing is most of the films as a whole weren’t that good but their chemistry made even a bad film worth watching.
No you are wrong... Mel Brooks does get the proper credit, he was a genius! You can not over looks his classic movies or roles! Mel Brooks that's a slap in his face to say hes underrated.
Yes i definitely agree, they definitely created comedy magic in all their movies together. One of the prime examples is the bathroom scene in Silver streak!
@@UnashamedlyGodSquad I think you missed a key takeaway from what made his improvisations work. It's not about being the cleverest performer or least unforgettable.
@@indzone12 - I don';t know that much about Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. I guess you seem to claim you do. So I guess in real life they really weren't good friends. But I guess they didn't hate each other either.
Gene once said that he and Pryor were not good friends off screen the way most people thought, despite their great chemistry on screen. Their collaboration on screen was some of the best. RIP Richard Pryor
"Mens rea!?! What do you mean I have mens rea! How did I get it?! Is there a cure? Is there a pill I can take?" I almost peed in my pants from laughing so hard the first time I saw that in Hear No Evil See No Evil.
The two of them are brilliant, Some of the best comedy films I've seen consists of them both, I've literally been in tears with them because their that funny. Im only 23, I didn't grow up watching them but I wish I I did, Ive saw more than enough of their films to know they truly were amazing actors and will be missed by millions. Thank you for the laughs my man, You're a buzz!!!
Used to like blue streak but Martin Lawrence tries too hard to be funny, he should have relaxed more and that film will never be Beverly Hills cop in my opinion. Silver Streak was excellent.
Wilder and Pryor did a very good job in there movies, my favorite one was stir crazy. I have that and see no evil here no evil on DVD. R.i.p. Richard Pryor
I’ve never seen this video. I love Gene more than any actor anywhere at any time. He was such a beautiful genius. He truly was peerless. Thank you for posting this video!
gene wilder and Richard Pryor were of their times and ahead of their times truly unique talents we will never see the likes of them again and the worlds poorer for it xx
My favorite movie was Silver Strek. Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor worked so well together and made the movie such a hit. Loved watching the two work together.
I absolutely love Gene Wilder. He's an original. There's a sweetness and gentleness to him and then those wild crazy faces he does. Silver Streak is one of my favs
I don't like old movies but Gêne Wilder sure knew how to make us laugh over and over again and than the chemistry between him and Richard was hilarious. Too bad they didnt made more movies together because they where a very good comedy duo. R.i.P Gêne Wilder.
Today, this awesome person, actor and wonderful comedian passed away.... R.I.P Gene, one of the greatest ones / El día de hoy oficialmente se ha anunciado su muerte que en paz descanse un grande
brilliant advice for young actors, sometimes you need to let go of the ego, and if someone says a fantastic line when improvising, say the most natural mundane thing to help bring that line out...don't kill the idea, don't try to top the idea!
Great advice. I see this often in office work with guys also. Too many try to be the funny dude, but then, someone else tries to outdo him. Instead of outdoing the other guy, just let him roll and say something that compliments his his remark, not degrade it.
They were AWESOME together. We watched Stir Crazy with our kids two weeks ago and they loved and laughed throughout the whole movie. That is one of my top 15 movies of all time
I was born on Gene's birthday and he has always been one of my favourite comedians regardless of that fact. Richard Pryor also sits amongst the Gods of Comedy.
Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor definitely made each other better actors, comedians and ultimately better people in general. His interview highlights the incredible chemistry and undeniable humor that existed between these two genius legends. These men had tremendous passion for their crafts and it naturally comes across in each of their performances, always complimenting each other’s talents! Insanely gifted human beings who will be cherished and missed.
Two of the GREATS. If Gene is talking about that scene from the movie Silver Streak, I was standing behind the movie camera talking to Scatman Crothers a co star in the film, a really nice guy.
the scenes in stir crazy where gene is laughing clearly at pryors antics, but incorporates the laughter into the character instead, like some sort of nervous tick is just genious. one of my all tme favorite movies
What a great comedian. I miss him immensely. Terry Garr was interviewed several years back and said he was the worst person to work with that he was very mean. Hard to believe but she was dead serious. Maybe she had the attitude.
Mr. Wilder and Mr. Pryor were, in my opinion, one of the funniest comedy duos ever. They just seemed to have the right magic between them.

Yes they were without a doubt

The death of Richard Pryor + Gene Wilder marked the end of an era in comedy
Completely Agree.
And Rodney dangerfield
They had such a great chemistry together

Gene Wilder doesnt get enough credit for how funny he really was...Mel brooks either

Gene and Richard created comedy magic together. I never laughed so hard than I did during 'Hear No Evil, See No Evil'. I miss them both.
I have Stir Crazy See No Evil Hear No Evil and Brewster's Millions on dvd really good films
My best bit is at the end when it's revealed how short the time is that they've been together.
One of THE MOST underrated movies EVER!!!!! MENS REA?? Lol. Keep your eyes on the road. Oh, if it'll make you feel better. LMAO!!!

Well he is in his 80's,and who cares how old or what he looks like,he'll always be a comedy genius in my eyes
Daaamn, reading this 7 years later with Gene Wilder now long gone leaves a dark, heavy and empty space in the reader's soul.
