This is a beautiful rendition of a great old standard as done by Lino Patuno and the American All Stars at an International Jazz Festival held in Remini, Italy in June, 2008. I'm honored to say I've seen a number of the wonderful musicians in this group perform in person and I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I do. DMM
How about those mellow tones of jazz of yesteryear that used to come out of the French Quarter & beyond......and how about out of the old Rossevelt Hotel that used to broadcast live jazz every Saturday night from N.O.early fifties when I knew I found a sound that I loved.... I loved this style of jazz as a youngster...!!!
A funny story about Peggy Lee, while in Vegas, going from hair prep and on her way to make up, she got on an elevator with a lady and her little girl , that little girl asked, are you Peggy Lee? Peggy Lee said , not yet !
I’m Confessin’ I wish I could play clarinet as does Alan Vache’. One of the best. Not that the sound is terribly good in these clips, but apparently the chap handling the mics thought Alan’s should be on a low volume for the entire set.
