    Beautiful sounding violin! Looks more like 1800 by the worn corners.

      I do agree with your observations and it certainly feels like an older violin to me too. I am still to find a competent expert to evaluate it properly though, so I go with the general (facebook identification) consensus for the time being…

    The fingerboard wood is an interesting color.

      That’s because its not ebony. It came to me like this and I’m not sure why it’s previous owner had it set up this way…

      @@thestigofviolin some people prefer other woods, to make things more interesting and colorful. I have a fretboard with sapwood going through it, and it looks great.
