Hey mate thanks for the tips!Got my first flathead on the 95mm ghost perch but saw a few flatties following it but they just won’t strike, any tips to get them to strike?
Hmm did you try a longer pause mate? Sometimes flatties will follow a lure or plastic but will not commit to biting no matter what you do unless you change the lure or plastic completely. Some can just be more fussy or shy than others.
@@johnnyfisho6788 Ok,thanks mate!By the way, when using hardbody lures,do you feel a tap tap tap like a soft plastic or you feel resistance or something pulling then set the hook?
@@joshzfishing yep with a hard body, flathead usually just grab it and you’ll instantly feel weight, set the hook when you feel that. bream on the other hand can tap at the lure and strike at it and not get hooked.
@@johnnyfisho6788 thanks mate!So for bream,I set the hook with hardbody like soft plastic and for flathead,do I just lift my rod up and set the hook when I feel resistance?
Thanks for watching. No I don’t use any sinkers using lures like this, my setup is usually around a 7foot rod with a 2500 size spinning reel. Around 8 pound braid mainline and around 8 or 10 pound fluro carbon leader probably around 110cm - 130cm in length.
It’s a black trevally, don’t get stung as they really hurt
First fish happy moment, will leave you a long lasting pain. Great vid
Good to see you got your camera back! 👍
ImJasonFish cheers yeah this one seems to be working good 🙌😁
I forgot the name but the spine on that fish is very very poinsenus, very painful
Got them in a cast net and got spiked in the fingers, pain was pretty bad and all my fingers fattened up.

Nice fish. I just got a double clutch for Secret Santa. Wanna catch a flathead with it.
Cheers they are great lures.
Great video! Do you attach any sinkers to your line when you’re using lures like that? What’s your set up also? Cheers!
