where abouts were you fishing at Redcliffe mate, and where did you launch from ?
I just launch off the beach at queens beach Redcliffe. I fish at the end of flinders st groin, it has a footpath on it and railings at the end. If you look off the end you can see reef about 100m or so directly out in front of it. I fish there.
That’s is called a spinefoot they are poisonous
It’s a black trevally, don’t get stung as they really hurt
Can you do more of these land based bream videos around Redcliffe I love them and where is this rock wall thing
Sure and this rock wall is from Queens Beach Redcliffe, just right of the boat ramp 👍
@@johnnyfisho6788 thanks heaps can i also ask what tide was this
@@thekidfisho8181 Yep it was around high tide.
Hi Johny nice fish What is the purpase of the knob on the but of your rod and what do you think is a good size rod for this style of fishing on redcliffe peninsula. Thankyou.
Hi mate the butt is usually just ergonomics for grip, weight distribution, balance etc and a good size rod for fishing off beaches, rock walls, jetty’s around here would be 6 to 7 foot length and a 4 to 8 pound class. Cheers.
@@johnnyfisho6788 thankyou for the reply Johny. Excellent. Sunscibed and await more of your content.
Awesome... Nice place.. 👍
Nice job.. Keep it up.. 💪👍
hey bro, let us know your fishing depth? Are you dragging the bottom? or just hitting the mid depth. Either way please tell uss your sinker weights.
Hi i was probably in around 1.3 meters of water close to the kayak. Where i caught the Snapper it would be just over 2.0m. The Snapper rig did have a running ball sinker size 4. The rod in my hand the rig was weightless, just letting the pilchard slowly sink down.
Hey bro, please give us a in depth of your rigging for each vid. like a good 30 seconds of, "this is my lure, I am using these sinkers and my line is this with such and such leader". It would make your channel grow and it would help me learn.
Wish I was a fish on your hook how are you doing today? Are you going fishing tomorrow?
Doing alright but nah no fishing tomorrow are you?
Nice work man. How far off flinderd are you? Haven't paddled up Scarborough way yet
Cheers. Not far at all, if you look from the end of the concrete platfrom and see the reef that sticks out of the water, im just behind that. So probably only 150m or so from the end of the fishing platform.
Hi nice bream have you been under the Ted snoad bridge st woody point?
Hi mate nice bream have you tried under the Ted snoad bridge casting lures into the pylons?
Hi thanks and yep i have, but ive mostly used bait around there, but you can definitely get a lot of bream there with lures.
Loved the video. The more I watched it the fatter and tastier that tailor became. Good fun, good fish, good feed.
lol they are great eating especially when fresh. Cheers 👍
Love the vids me and my mate watch you during school and have plan a trip on the yaks this holidays - keep it up 👍🏽
Thats awesome, where will you guys fish?
@@johnnyfisho6788 off the rocks off Osbourne point and Queens beach
Where do you get your bait from man?
Usually i get pillies from Anaconda
The stradic paired with a zodias is that? Nice vid btw
Cheers and yep thats the combo. I have a vanford paired with it now though. Both great reels.
Hey mate thanks for the tips!Got my first flathead on the 95mm ghost perch but saw a few flatties following it but they just won’t strike, any tips to get them to strike?
Hmm did you try a longer pause mate? Sometimes flatties will follow a lure or plastic but will not commit to biting no matter what you do unless you change the lure or plastic completely. Some can just be more fussy or shy than others.
@@johnnyfisho6788 Ok,thanks mate!By the way, when using hardbody lures,do you feel a tap tap tap like a soft plastic or you feel resistance or something pulling then set the hook?
@@joshzfishing yep with a hard body, flathead usually just grab it and you’ll instantly feel weight, set the hook when you feel that. bream on the other hand can tap at the lure and strike at it and not get hooked.
@@johnnyfisho6788 thanks mate!So for bream,I set the hook with hardbody like soft plastic and for flathead,do I just lift my rod up and set the hook when I feel resistance?
@@joshzfishing yep thats it 👍
YEHA MATE MATE MATE GOBBLE THE GLIZZY FUCK YEHA BROTHER ROCK ON DUDE SLAP A PINEAPPLE IN THE POKIES AND GET ENOUGH FOR A SLAB OF PIS AND A PACKET OF WINNE BLUES
I forgot the name but the spine on that fish is very very poinsenus, very painful
Got them in a cast net and got spiked in the fingers, pain was pretty bad and all my fingers fattened up.
What kinda kayak you got..?
I have a Dragon Slayer
@@johnnyfisho6788 that’s sick could I get a sub Ik I have no actual good videos yet💀 but im going out on the water tomorrow morning to record it sucks bc I have no dad and my moms always at uni so i really need to find someone that can take me lol
Can you do more shallow reef kayak fishing videos, there my favourite 👍🏽
What beach you off ??
Just queens beach Redcliffe.
Can you fish in Hays Inlet in a yak? Where are the shallow reefs?
Yeah you can fish in hays inlet in a kayak. The shallow reefs are in the front of Redcliffe and Scarborough.
@@johnnyfisho6788 Thanks bud. I'm stuck fishing and paddling during school hours. Do you think it's worth the paddle and trawling the lines anyway? I saw you used pillys. Lures any good out there? I'm really keen to head up that way next week, weather permitting.
@@AlysonLewis Did you mean paddling and trolling lines in hays inlet? i guess so yeah if you’re main target is flathead. Me personally id goto the shallow reefs and fish there with bait. Hard Lures and plastics will work (plastics more so) but in my opinion baits like pillies or mullet flesh or prawns will work better.
@@johnnyfisho6788 OK thank you. I'll do the shallow reef then with your recommendations. I'll be out during the middle of the day so I'll have a crack at it. 🤞
Very fat for 62 model!! Good fun those fat ones they have allot more power
Sure do, definitely put up a decent fight.
What are your thoughts between the 95 and 75 clutches
Hi i think they are both great lures. I usually get the bigger fish on the 95, like flathead and tailor, and the 75 can pretty much catch everything. Ive got good flathead and bream with it, amongst other fish as well. I think they both are worth having in the tacklebox.
@@johnnyfisho6788 ok cool Colors of choice.
@@nenadnedovic9246 i personally like Ghost Perch and Lazer Ayu, with the latter being a more shiny and flickering colour.
Would a 2.5 inch zman grub in bloodworm colour work?
Yep i dont see why not. Ive had success with the motor oil colour mostly but bream are not that fussy with colours if that’s your target species.
What beach are you off there?
Queens beach north basically
Good job son!
Mate well done. Your videos inspired me to get back on the reef this avo and i got busted of on the exact same set up that you were using , except i was using 16lb leader. It must have been decent. My reel was screaming. I’m going for a revenge trip in the morning. Cheers mate.
Nice mate were you in the same spot?
Same area, but I was more towards the front part of the rock wall at Scarborough Beach.
This at curtin artificial mate?
Haha nah just out the front of Redcliffe
Hey man love your videos, could you make a video of your kayak set up. I’m new to kayak fishing and just bought a 2nd hand Viking pro fish with a sea eel 🙌🏽
Nice vid mate whats the rod
Cheers mate, its a shimano zodias 7’0 2-4kg. Brilliant rod honestly.
What a great session. Quality fish and beautiful weather, you can't ask for more than that.
Thanks for watching and yeah its a beautiful spot, the whole peninsula is great when the winds play nice.
Great to see you producing content again . Tight line and clean lenses;)
Cheers mate 😉
I came from Fishbrain
Did you release or?
Kept it
Great video! Do you attach any sinkers to your line when you’re using lures like that? What’s your set up also? Cheers!
Thanks for watching. No I don’t use any sinkers using lures like this, my setup is usually around a 7foot rod with a 2500 size spinning reel. Around 8 pound braid mainline and around 8 or 10 pound fluro carbon leader probably around 110cm - 130cm in length.
@@johnnyfisho6788 appreciate the response- hope to see you around! Best wishes
You go out by yourself? Just sold my 2.8 dragon kayak used alot in Gladstone for barra and Jack but wanting to get something bigger for out the front
Yep by myself. The 2.8 would be fine for out the front of Redcliffe if thats what you mean.
@@johnnyfisho6788 yea bloke at rothwell bcf told me about his ordeal with a tiger shark out by Scarborough reef so sort of put me off, wanna upgrade to something with a rudder and add outriggers and electric motor
@@Rewis13 damn thats full on. i cant wait to get back out and film just haven’t had the opportunity yet. will be soon though. hit us up if you get out for a fish 👌
Nice fish. I just got a double clutch for Secret Santa. Wanna catch a flathead with it.
Cheers they are great lures.
First fish is eather a soldier fish or a fortescue
Just moved to Morayfield from Logan - looking good places to throw the yak onto the water. Will go have me a gander at this location excellent video ... get some of them yummy snapper into my tummy 🤣🤣🤣
Can I ask if you were anchored or free floating?
Hi im anchored here.
Change your camera angle, it's way tooo high
Beautiful colours on that Flathead !
Enjoying your videos ,keep them coming !!!
I look out there almost everyday early morn, need three hands to count the boats/yaks. You've got it to yourself, the Perfect Storm.
Really nice vid🤙🤙gotta make more of em
What place in Redcliffe mate
Hey does anyone know if I were to be in the same sort of area. About that far out, can I use lure? Or should I be using bait?
Teo Grehan you can do well with both, I personally prefer bait like pilchards, prawns, chicken breast pieces. Lures like soft plastics on jigheads can do alright there too. Zman grubs are good to use out there.
