Our politician, the senate, committed a big mistake when they did not renew the lease of US Bases in Subic & Clark. Probably the Chinese government is not that assertive with regards to their claim on SCS if the US Bases stayed all these years. Nice to see you back Uncle Sam, IMO you bring peace and stability in this part of the world.
With EDCA sites strategically located near Taiwan, and the Philippines commitment to defend the WPS against the illegal expansionism of China, the Philippines is a big obstacle to China's intention to seize Taiwan by force. China might attack the Philippines first, take control of SCS, West Philippine Sea, before Taiwan and Japan. Thanks to Philippine allies, Japan and US help! deployment of fighter aircrafts, radar systems, missiles systems, drones, missile defense systems, and other arms and munitions to deter China's belligerent expansion, The Philippines still need to strengthen its defense capability.
