    I think the whole 'looking at indie over trad covers' for comps depends on your genre. If you're writing in a genre that is primarily traditional, I'd recommend including trad covers in your comps. For instance, if your book is a historical fiction (not historical romance), I'd be looking at more trad comps than indie ones. Other genres might be the opposite. Readers aren't necessarily looking to see if it's trad or indie, so I think there's an advantage in looking at both.
