    It was unfortunate because a lot of the sabotaging in the halls of Congress was lead by Ted Kennedy who was still winching from Carter getting the DNC nomination for the 1976 Election.
    Unfortunately there were a number of us Women Voters who were influenced by Kennedy. I regret to this day that in the second election I voted for an Independent Candidate.
    Since I learned about the work of the Carter Center, I have been sending contributions as part of my penance for my stupidity in not campaigning and voting for him the second time.

    I love Ralph Nader one of the most ardent supporters of consumer protectionism, but I disagree with his opinion on Carter, as Eizenstat said Carter was the first neoliberal president the end of the new deal, the dismantling of Banking regulation and siding with corporate America.

  • @manifest1283
    @manifest1283 2 часа назад +3

    While Chris Hedges and some others criticize Carter for his neoliberal policies, they haven't contributed anything as useful as Carter's labor.
    From the beginning as a peanut farmer, his family enterprise and labor contributed to the affordable nutrition of working families with the peanut butter we all ate as children. He built homes with the skills in his own hands.
    Thanks Ralph.

Ralph is another great and underrated person who also did some great things in his time but as with Jimmy was sabotaged by corporate media and right wing money hungry lobbyists…

    I will never forget how, because of Ralph Nader, we got Bush Jr for 8 interminable years and the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Since his refusing to back out of the 2000 race, thus handing it to Bush, I can't take him seriously. He's an egomaniac who thought more of himself than the good of the country, unlike Jimmy Carter. Stop giving him a platform.

      I will never forget how gullible idiots allowed media to convince them that third party voting was a "wasted vote" or a vote for the other party. Half of you lose anyway, many voting for a candidate you don't even like. Before the Reagan era started the corporate takeover of this nation and its government, we were taught in Civics the importance of third party voting was critical to the democratic process in never allowing a 2-party duopoly where the election (both parties and the people) could be easily manipulated.
