Kalamos Island is situated in the Ionian Sea, off the western #coast of Greece. The nearest #airport is #Aktion International Airport, located next to #Preveza, some 45 km north of #Mytikas #port which connects Kalamos with regular #ferry service. Another option is to fly to #Athens 353 km away.
Its land area is 25 km2 and has a #population of 500 permanent #residents. The name Kalamos means reed in Greek.
The main #town on the island is Kalamos Town, a picturesque village with #traditional houses and a laid-back atmosphere.
