I am actually quite angry about myself and others I know not having enough money for groceries and having to use a food shelf last month, and my friend lost her insurance because she was like $10 over some income limit which is still not even 1600.00 in a whole month before rent. But they are giving all kinds of things to people who are not citizens, or who haven’t even been legally deemed disabled by a medical professional at all.

On Saturday night I had a dream that was so vivid. I was looking over my car insurance bill(something I hardly ever do, too depressing). I noticed that the bill for 6 months was now almost $1,000 and became very upset. Then it was like someone was telling me to pay for a full year of insurance NOW. On Monday we got our insurance bill and sure enough it was just like the dream. I scrambled and got all the money I had hidden around the house and put it in the bank and sent a check to the insurance company that afternoon. When my husband ask me what was wrong I told him about my dream and what had just happened. He agreed something was going to happen and we need to get prepared for it. God is trying to tell us something.

Fill it with white vinegar let it sit in a dark closet for 8 weeks, drain the liquid into another jar, and use that as a cleaner. I bought 12 bottles of steramine, each bottle has 150 tablets. 2 tablets in a gallon of water and you can sterilize your counters, kitchen sinks, toilets, showers, tile floors, vinyl floring, refrigerators, just not to be used for clothing. Don't have to worry about the tablets going bad, like bleach. Bleach only lasts about a year. Plus the price of a gallon of bleach has gone up so much. I bought the steramine online.

A few weeks ago 1lb pasta boxes were in a super sale for $0.79 each. We bought 64 boxes and emptied them into gallon glass jars. White rice 20lbs for $7.99 we bought 16 of them. Got a REALLY great price on organic grass fed free range ground beef for $1.99lb (there was an $8.00 savings per pound). We bought 72 pounds. Cara Cara Oranges were $2.99 for 5lb bags, we bought 24 bags. The orange peels are made into orange oil cleaners in white vinegar. Green Tea box of 72 was on sale for $1.49, we bought 48 boxes. And so on. We have a big pantry and a basement full of shelves loaded with pressure canned foods. 3 Stand up freezers(that are solar powered to save on electric). We dehydrate and freeze dry as well. If we had to buy food everyweek just as normal food shopping like we used to about 3+ years ago, we would starve with our family of 11 with todays prices. We grow a lot of our food and preserve it too. I feel sorry for those that live in apartments or anyone on fixed incomes. It's getting very hard with these prices that keep climbing. I learned to make mayo from eggs that our hens lay. Because mayo prices are insane. I make all our soups from scratch and pressure can them in quarts. We just can not afford store bought canned soups. There seems to be no end in sight with inflation and greed.

I love your post! Your a prepared person and with everything going on for the past 3/4- years with things only getting worse its the only way to survive in my opinion. I use to be a CouponQueen not like the show but I was really good at it.. when they hit South we had just bought our home.. the first thing we did was plant a fruit orchard, berry bushes
-turned a old shed into a chicken coop, recycled old fencing n post that was on the property and bought 7-hens.. this started almost 16yrs ago.. every year I plant another fruit tree, berry bush and learn a new skill.. learned to pressure can, water bath can, dehydrate.. forage wild edibles to making our own medicines..stocked up on every rock bottom sale there was... My hubby n I r empty nesters now so the pressure of trying to buy food to feed them isnt on us anymore.. but.. I keep us stocked and now planting perennial edibles on my dads property along with another greenhouse.. I can stretch a penny like no ones business which truly helps our daily lives.. Im grateful to have started all those years ago is all I can say!

@@Fritz0616You are so lucky you started a while ago, especially with the fruit trees. 👍 Fellow couponer! I paid off our 1st home because of my couponing. The money that was in the food budget total for the month, I saved the receipts and the total of savings from coupons for that month, I added to the principle. Paid off our mortgage in 8 years instead of 15. Saved a lot of interest. Cant save much now, hardly any coupons and they expire in a few weeks. We have 14 laying hens and 24 pullets that should be laying in about 2 months. Chicken coop was made from lumber we had lying around. We did buy the hardware wire cloth. The roof on the run that also covers the chicken coop is metal, we save rain water from that roof. When we moved, the property came with a few apple trees and raspberry bushes. We have planted 2 Plum trees, 2 pear trees, 2 apricots trees 2 Asian pears, 2 rainier cherries, 2 persimmon trees and 10 blueberry bushes. The trees are not producing yet, another year or 2. Blueberries have been sweet. Also have strawberries. I do have medicinals planted. We grow mushrooms (maitake, shitake, blue oysters, yellow oysters and reichi) and whatever we don't use right away, they are freeze dried. I spread spores for morels, wine saps and chanterels, waiting to see if they spring up. We do grow a lot of food, and extra for the chickens. We have 2 mini jerseys raised on pasture grasses and hay (1st time caring for cows) that just gave birth to 2 more females. Once the calves are weaned off, we will be getting dairy from the moms for about 9 months each. We won't have to buy any dairy or butter from the stores. We have 3 generations under our roof, with lots of hands to help with it all. I just wish we started this when the kids were very young. But, it is what it is.

I love that I can do this. I am handicapped and only do order foods and supplies from Amazon and Walmart. I have not been in a grocery store in a year. My daughter and her family live in a Texas suburb, no community garden or backyard vegetable garden so l worry about their tight budget with higher grocery items. At least my grandson works at the neighborhood Wal-mart market so l hope he receives a discount like l did when l worked for Kroger. I mainly shop at Kroger and Publix for convenience and l am a longtime loyal Kroger customer. But this week's sales ad in my part of the country at Kroger is pretty skimpy. I don't buy the 5 participating items since l am older with a lack of appetite and live alone and hardly ever want those particular items, maybe just 1 or 2 and my food pantry is cramped for shelf space so difficult to stockpile. But if l was feeding a family, l would be using a spare closet or bedroom or mudroom or anything to become a "thrifty food hoarder". So, you are providing great feedback and info! God Bless!

We saved and bought 5 solar generators. We have 3 freezers. We rotate them with the solar power. 9 hours on overnight with the solar generstors and then off during the day. everything stays rock hard, nothing has defrosted. We hardly open the freezers, just to pull out meats and freezer meals that I make in bulk. The solar panels charge the generators during the day. Has been working like that for a few years. We also bought rechargable fans for every room. They charge up from the solar generator. All our power tools are battery powered and they get charged by solar as well. We have several battery banks that we connect to the solar generators to charge up for smaller items like our cell phones, watches, earpods, personal neck fans, ipads, notepads, portable games, etc... We also bought a bunch of solar light bulbs that we charge and use at night or as needed. Our outdoor LED string lights are connected to a smaller solar generator. It all has helped lower our bill.

A reminder for all those persons who contribute to the postal carrier fill a bag pantry charity. It is that time again, this Saturday, May 11th. Fill a grocery bag or what you can spare, with non-perishable foods and set it out by your mailbox. The carriers will pick it up. If you don't trust the local neighborhood sticky- fingered grifters, take your donation to the local post office on Friday. Last year I inquired about the charity and was told that all your donations stay local. I've been doing this charity for quite a few years and giving cash to other food banks. I have to stand there and think very hard about every single item because I can’t afford everything I need, and not what I want, and sometimes not even enough to get through. I hate it, it mashes me panic, it makes me sad and angry, and I have anxiety as it is but shopping never made me anxious until a few years ago.
I think other people are also, because in stores I can tell some other people are freaking out inside too, but trying their best.
It’s not like I eat a lot, either. I don’t even eat meat which is the most expensive item right now. If I did eat meat, honestly I’d have been at a loss much sooner. However, I kind of am anyhow now.

I noticed that the cheaper food products are flying off the shelves and the expensive and organic stuff is rotting. My Aldi is sold out by 3pm. Also, my friend who works as an admin in a gym has told me that there are a record amount of folks that cannot pay for the membership anymore and end up being sent to collections. Every month the number of people defaulting is going up.

Too many people don’t shop the ads. If you’ve shopped long enough you know that milk at Walmart is $2.98 and Kroger is $2.89.
Prices have gone up but if you’re smart about it it’s not too difficult to stay within budget

because of the poison they are putting in our food and what our stomach issues can handle, we have to shop organic and non gmo mostly. My grocery bill is atrociously high. I go once every two weeks and it is anywhere from 300-350, I use coupons, shop different stores for the bigger items I can get cheaper elsewhere and it's still just so expensive. If I buy regular food, it kills my stomach, my husband's as well. we will be in pain for days. wtf are they putting in there, besides those toxic oils? how can this be allowed? I thank God we are able to buy the items we need but it's criminal how expensive the items are. The bread we can tolerate is Dave's Killer Bread, anywhere from 5 something to 6 something, peanut butter is over 5 a jar and it's a small jar. pasta I can get the regular stuff, we do okay with that but jar sauce, I am Italian and know how to make sauce from scratch, it's not expensive to do, so ok with that with the organic tomatoes, etc. I did see jars of Rao's sauce selling for almost $8.00 a jar and it was flying off the shelves. I thought, if so many are struggling, who is buying 8 dollar a jar spaghetti sauce? I guess not everyone is struggling but they are always almost wiped out of that stuff. I want to try it because you hear how good it is but again, since I am Italian, I can't justify 8 a jar sauce, lol, I know how to make it like that. anyway, Target has been lower than Smith's on some items like greek yogurt, ice cream and some meats but we are switching to a company called Moink to buy meat from since, again, they are poisoning our food supply. My. husband watches The Shawn Ryan show and the John Lovell, found out about it from their shows.

Kim yes I feel our food supply is tainted as well. Things don’t taste the same as a while ago. I get sick easily too on bad food. If I’m unsure if something is going to bother my stomach I take a probiotic. Have a blessed weekend.

I’ve noticed the same with Pure Leaf Raspberry Ice Tea. I have called Pepsi Co. to ask them if the product was discontinued and they said that production had slowed down and that they were working on getting more on the shelves. The more people who call to inquire about these missing products, the quicker we may see the product return to the shelves. It is frustrating!
