Thank you for this gem! I'm glad I found your content and will be following you in the future! We will be going to a wedding here this year, so naturally, being a history buff I needed to look it up! 😅 I can't wait now!
Very nice. It is a miracle that the home has survived, so we owe the rescuers a great deal. There are a few mistakes in the history. Closets were not taxed, and 'Jack and Jill ' bathrooms were in existence before this home was built. In addition, most servants in expensive homes had access to their own bathrooms by this time. Privies and chamber pots were smelly and a nuisance, and residents and their guests did not want servants using the 'family' bathrooms. Again, the rescue of this home is pretty spectacular, just be careful of inaccurate history.
So glad the house was saved. Too bad they are missing it on most furniture pieces (not the original built Ins) Even though it’s used for rental parties and community things- being so close to Rennigers 🤷🏼♀️ they can do far better on a reasonable budget.
You spelled Howey incorrectly. The Howey Mansion and is in Howey-In-The-Hills. Katherine Coheal Budd also designed the Harry C. Duncan house in Tavares in a Colonial Revival style as the Howey home is Mediterranean Revival. You are so wrong on so many “facts”.
That was a great tour. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for coming along!
For a brief moment, I thought Howie Mandel haha. Cool place, glad to learn about Mr. Howie
I understand that. Not many famous Howies out there. Thanks for watching!

That’s great! Make sure to check out Howey’s gravesite just a short wonder away from the mansion.
