What ticks me off, the people driving slow in the fast lane who suddenly want to speed up when you start to go past them in the right hand lane. Then, once they’re back out ahead of you, they slow back down until you catch back up to them, then they hit the gas again. All while never leaving the left lane, refuse to let you get by them. Or they pace a vehicle to the right of them. They pick a slow vehicle to do this next to, so that the traffic jam behind them can’t get through.
That happened to me in Philly. I was driving to school and was trying to get over to the middle lane. Especially about common courtesy & following the law! Certain people have deemed themselves road justice warriors to keep people from speeding & ride in the left lane. It's my choice to speed, move over or I will move you over! I used to race cars! My dad taught me well! But yes, simple manners would fix everything! Damn it's not that complicated! 🤦♀️
Been driving for 51 yrs. I drive like the old lady I am and I stay in the slow lane. They can zip by me all they want lol I will purposely slow down so they can easily pass me. So Vic ain't talkin' about ME.:o)
In Europe we dont have this... if your in the fast lane and your going quick and a faster car comes up behind you, they flash there lights or signal to say move over i want to overtake.. generally people get out of the way and let the faster vehicles go on there way...
Your so right RWLemon I was vacationing Spain a few years ago and the Truckers basically stood in the right lane the whole time which for me was amazing not to worry about a Trucker jumping into the left lane to pass at the very last minute. You don't see this leap frogging each other just block the left lane and slow everyone down while they take there sweat time to pass and when they do finally pass they get right in front of the truck they just passed to stay together so his buddy behind him now will have his turn to annoy drivers coming up on the left at some later. If these individuals the have this kind of mindset just to have control of the the road because they are driving a big rig then they should not be Truck drivers. Ridiculous. I think some Truckers forget that your not paid to police the highways of America and keep the roads safe your there to transport your cargo from point A to point B in a safe manner not play games on the roads leap frogging each to aggravate motorist. If safety is your concern don't be just let state police handle the speeders. Now mind you not all truckers do this but I say more than 50 percent do. What States should do is institute a law where truckers must remain on the left lane at all times. I think that would be a major improvement making less stressful for all concerned.
People will slow down and give you the finger if you flash your lights at them, in the US. absolutely a bunch of asshats who feel privileged when driving a car now. No consideration, and absolute arrogance with complete ignorance.
Not in the U.K. In general we have 3 lane motorways. They’re now normally refereed to by numbers 1, 2 and 3. Lane one is the lane you join the motorway on, lanes 2 and three are passing lanes. Trucks can only use lanes 1 and 2 in most cases and they’re limited to 60mph. Our Highway Code tells us to stay in lane 1 unless we need to move into lane 2 to pass a slower moving vehicle, and then into lane three if you’re passing a slow moving vehicle in lane 2. But, some people like to sit in lane 2, middle lane hoggers! If it’s relatively clear on the road you’re coming up lane one, have to go into lane 2, then to lane three to pass the hogger and then back across to lane one. When that happens I like to orbit them. Pass them in lane three, back to lane one, slow so they overtake me, pass them again in lane 3, back to lane one and let them overtake again. I like to see how many times I can do this before they shift over to lane one WHERE THEY SHOULD BE! Oh, and that’s what ticks me off
So truuuuue lol or go exactly 3 under and claim "I'm going fast enough" even though the left lane is a passing lane. If someone is behind you, you are not passing how hard is it to understand? It's the Sheriff's job to determine who's "going to fast."
There is no such thing as the "fast lane." The left lane is for passing only, nobody should be cruising in the left lane. Make your pass and move back to the right lane regardless of speed.
And regardless of how many times you have to do it. There are always going to be trucks in the slow lane. Some people think the fast lane is the no-truck lane, and as long as they're driving the speed limit, they are causing no harm. I disagree. You can drive the speed limit in the slow lane, and then when you need to pass, you can pass and move back over again. Rinse and repeat.
I agree with you. While I agreed with everything else he had to say, I also said what you did: It is NOT called the "fast lane" it is called the "passing lane", it is called that and NOT called the "fast lane" because it's not the "I'm allowed to break the speed limit law lane" [no matter how many treat it that way, it doesn't make it so]. I always said the same thing to my mother when she was flipping a shit at the person ahead of her in the passing lane when they were following the law and doing exactly the speed limit [or within 5 over], I also told her "you cannot expect people to break the law just because you are willing to". Now to be clear, I understand he was not speaking about exceeding the speed limit, he was talking about those that go well under it in the passing lane, I only disagree with calling it the "fast lane" as opposed to the "passing lane" as it fits [and encourages] the ill behavior of people like my mother.

CT drivers are the worst. Whenever I see a car a half mile ahead and I am gaining on it quickly, I tell those with me that the car is from CT. They are always amazed how consistently correct it proves to be.
@@kcash6359 In CT, they drive right on the middle of the lane divider markings as if their car is a fucking jumbo jet preparing for takeoff on a runway.
In Europe, lane rules are followed, not in America. Again, driving should be so much easier in the US compared to any other country. 95% of the cars are automatic, the roads are wide as hell, right turns are permitted at most red lights, etc etc. Yet everyday I encounter someone blowing through a stop sign, merging onto the freeway without checking their mirrors, zero use of indicators, driving at 80mph in a 45 zone - it's just ridiculous how inept drivers are here (especially CT, NY, and NJ).
WHOA!!! By seeing this video and reading the majority of the comments on this video I can really see that there is a major misunderstanding about the “left lane”. The “left lane” is in NO way shape or form the “fast lane” it is the PASSING lane. It’s a lane meant for passing tractor trailers and slower moving traffic and NOT to be staying on it your whole trip on the highway doing 85 to 100mph. Please people learn the rules of the road and stay safe.
I had a girlfriend who drove the left lane at the speed limit. She could not understand the rationale of why I broke up with her when I said it was because she drove continually in the left lane. All my friends understood.
Define the word "limit". If she was doing the "limit", that means as fast as she could go in either lane of that highway. 80 in a 70 is speeding no matter the lane.
J. Pitkin - "limit" being whatever the posted speed limit was. Not breaking the law of speeding, but breaking the law of left lane usage for passing only. And, in my personal opinion, breaking the rules of driving etiquette which showed to me that she cared about no one else on the road except herself. And risking my safety if not her own as I reminded her that the left lane is intended for unimpeded passage of emergency vehicles that are proceeding at a faster rate of speed ….and for people who simply want to drive faster (perhaps MUCH faster) than the posted speed limit. Some people quickly advancing in her rearview mirror were nowhere near as calm and polite as Vic DiBitetto.
@@joshuasmith4547 if I'm doing the "limit", I have every right to be in the left lane. Why should I be stuck behind a slow moving truck? Besides, you don't go very far on the interstate these days without passing a state trooper. If I get pulled over doing 80 in a 70, can I just tell him it's ok because I was in the "fast lane"? Pretty sure I'd be ticketed just the same.

YES people ,, stop doing it cause eventually I'm going to get caught with one of these shooting's... Thanks for spreading the word Vic. Peace and stay safe ....
Here in Dallas the left lane is now the slow lane. You can actually go faster in the right lane. I have had people actually say, I pay taxes. I can drive in any lane that I want. Should be able to put them in the ditch. It is crazy.
They drive like this because they are afraid of the merging traffic coming from the on ramps..they figure that others will go around them but this can be cured if A) the merging traffic would actually stop when they see traffic coming and B) the merging traffic proceeds when the lane is clear! If you’re scared stay off the road!
True north 30 trying to understand what your saying, are you saying when traffic on the ramp observes freeway traffic in the right lane and unable to merge they should stop then merge when clear? If I got you right than that’s absurd and a rear ending at acceleration waiting to happen not to mention a traffic violation of unsafe and Improper entrance to freeway.. Thats exactly what many drivers do in Southern California, insane.
D. Geo Virginia Driver's Manual, which includes this line: "Drivers entering an interstate from an entrance ramp must yield the right-of-way to traffic already on the highway." Now, the obvious rub is that it's tough to safely get on a 70 mph roadway from a dead stop, with only the provided acceleration lane. That is, however, what motorists who can't get in safely as they come up the ramp must do. That, in turn, generally requires waiting for a long clear stretch, which can be a long time coming. I can only counsel patience, as unpalatable as we know that is in our always-in-a-hurry world. So, bottom line: Traffic merging onto an interstate does not have the right of way, and must defer to drivers already on the highway.
True north 30 I never said drivers entering the freeway have the right of way. I said it’s absurd and unsafe driving to accelerate to the end of the acceleration lane and come to a complete stop to wait for available clearance to merge/enter. If an accident results they will more than likely be cited for failure to enter the Highway safely. I’ll never forget when In high school drivers ED a hundred years ago the instructor expressly stating how important it was to properly enter the freeway using the acceleration ramp, viewing freeway traffic to your left, picking a gap where your going to enter while accelerating to the speed of traffic in that right lane and entering smoothly. Now this was on the congested Chicago freeways and discovered to be one of the most difficult portions of that training for allot of students to do. For me as teenage driver it was my favorite part and the only time you were allowed to punch that Catalina‘a big V8. From what I’ve observed is a good majority of drivers on the road today haven’t mastered the technique of properly entering the freeway. Much of this has to do with the lack of driver courtesy of those on the freeway in that right lane ignorantly refusing to make room for the driver attempting to enter aside from whose got the right of way and that’s a problem as well. Before you respond with what are you suppose to do if there’s no gap to enter, bottom line, learn to do it right and safely is the only answer I can provide. In all reality if your at speed with signal on and slowly beginning your merge who in their right mind is going to continue to refuse you to enter while waiting for the impact which will possibly force their vehicle into the next faster lane to their left. Safe driving to you.
@jpcoqueran I’m not even hating tho. I swear people jump on that “don’t like it don’t watch” phrase way too often. Literally I thought I saw this video before but wasn’t sure so I asked if this was a reupload. Stop with your pathetic bullshit.
You're preaching to the choir! Preach! I live in Texas, and TONS of people didn't take an actual driver's ed class, they were taught by their grandparents or parents. When you do it from home, you have that little book that your "teacher" checks off on when the student has finished that lesson. All the parents just check all of them off because they don't want to teach crap besides the first two times they let their kid drive them around the block, just so they'll learn what a damn gas peddle it. Most of them are those people who never learned how to actually drive.
I'm a relatively new driver so I bear with me. What do you mean not go over the line? Do you mean pass the first line and stop before the pedestrian walking?
Ahmed Ismail When you come to an intersection with a green light and your making a left turn, proceed to the middle of the intersection. Don’t stop at the line, you have a green light. If there are no cars coming in the opposite direction don’t stop at all. Just make sure there are no pedestrians in the crosswalk crossing the street your turning to.
This also depends on the drivers experience. Not everyone can do this without meeting in an accident. Older folks and inexperience drivers will not venture past the white line so therefore I am only upset if there is no oncoming traffic but they still remain behind the white line. Experience drivers will venture past the white line and wait until there is no oncoming traffic or until oncoming traffic light turns red before making a left turn.
@@flexx7611 True it happens but is incorrect. The book implicitly states that everyone is supposed to proceed into the intersection on a left turn and follow or at least attempt an "S" maneuver into the intersection to allow other traffic the ability to see around you. Drive testers are supposed to FAIL no exceptions if you cannot navigate into an intersection like this.

The "driver" did not want to let me over, so I kept my blinker on and speed up to the light and stopped. The "driver" ran the red because he was so focused on not letting me over. I wish a cop was there to give him a ticket. Dummy lol.
Man, this is my biggest pet peeve on the road... say it every time I’m on the highway
Definitely one of my pet peeves!!
Those know it all & dont care stupid drivers. . Who Purposely does this. 🤬
& causes many accidents 🙄
Then there's the ones who've been tailgating one driver in the middle lane for 20 miles while you're sending it in the left lane and as you get to pass them all of a sudden they need to pass em and cut you off. Didn't check mirrors or wanna kill you or something. Everytime.
They do they think they're the law and will break in the left lane to slow people down smh.

This man needs his own show
Yeah but then the censorship politically correct suit and tie people step in if its gonna be on public television and then it won't be as funny and he can't act like his natural self! So I think RUclips is perfect!

Charizard AMV'S better yet, he has his own RUclips channel!
Dear Vic! My father gave me the exact same instructions when he was teaching me to drive! He'd been a long haul trucker before I was born & was a train engineer for CSX at this time. And he saw all kinds of people doing stupid things on the RR tracks! And trains are like boats! They can't just stop! So, I was well taught & this video was spot on!
About to binge watch Vic for awhile, this guy is spot on ... hilarious but seriously true to fact...
Not in the UK people driving in the fast lane are such a pain you shouldn't need to flash them!
They shouldn't be there in the first place!
People will slow down and give you the finger if you flash your lights at them, in the US. absolutely a bunch of asshats who feel privileged when driving a car now. No consideration, and absolute arrogance with complete ignorance.
That use to be the way it was here too, but then the idiot generation was born!
Oh, and that’s what ticks me off
This is awesome!!!! I feel the same way Vic!! This one is for the books for sure lol
So truuuuue lol or go exactly 3 under and claim "I'm going fast enough" even though the left lane is a passing lane. If someone is behind you, you are not passing how hard is it to understand? It's the Sheriff's job to determine who's "going to fast."
vic- you are my hero bro-- keep them vibes coming
They sure can't handle living life in the fast lane.
Ryan Meade wrong. Your shitty car doesn’t have the HP to pass me
My favorite moment: 3:51 Rock on Vic! You are on fire lately. Almost literally.
What if your passing everyone? 🤭
Not possible in CA. Too many cars. But the left lane is always the slowest because that's the most crowded. Always have more luck in the middle lane.
That's why it's called the fast lane!!
Ahhhhhahaha!! YESSIREE! Oh man you hit the nail perfectly on the head! Mr.Vic you're awsome, brother. Now try to breath!

RI, MA, and NY drivers.....There is a Passing Lane, a Traveling lane, and a SLOW lane....it's SO simple!!

William LMC Please Sir add PA to your list.
Love when this guy is speaking casually then he hits that agitated super angry fevered pitch!!!!!!! Lmao!!!
You're one of those people who doesn't let someone pass because you're already going 10mph over the speed limit aren't you? Im just getting that vibe
Nesterg1
that’s true but a mute point as to what Vic and everyone are commenting on.
Vice You Should Run for President!!!
J. Pitkin you ruined this whole comment .
J. Pitkin let me guess your the guy this video was made for
@@joshuasmith4547 if I'm doing the "limit", I have every right to be in the left lane.
Finally Vic you put something out of REAL value, REAL in every way...But unfortunately we're surrounded by idiots 24/7 and thus the shit will NEVER end...

Here in Dallas the left lane is now the slow lane.
You can actually go faster in the right lane.
I have had people actually say, I pay taxes. I can drive in any lane that I want. Should be able to put them in the ditch.
It is crazy.
My favorite part is the expression on his face at the end of the video!
This man is my hero.
Vic, you're my new hero.
Ciao from Sicily, Grazie for a good laugh! ✌❤😅

Bill Cosby ..You’re in jail.
What about drivers who when coming to a light wanting to make a left turn do not go beyond the white line? That's what ticks me off!!!
That drives me nuts! AND they hug the outside line so that no one can see AROUND them!
I'm a relatively new driver so I bear with me. What do you mean not go over the line? Do you mean pass the first line and stop before the pedestrian walking?
Ahmed Ismail
When you come to an intersection with a green light and your making a left turn, proceed to the middle of the intersection.
Completely Agree. Its worse then ever since the majority are out of work, which makes everday a SUNDAY. We all know how we love those Sunday drivers.
