finally dante has arrived.
DANTE ON LIVE?!?! YEAH
Let go dante live hell yeah
stone cold vs bret hart in a submission match at wrestlemania 13 the championship match was before then at the last ppv before wrestlemania 13
1:39 Basically during RR '97 Stone Cold was eliminted but the referees did not see it, so he re-enter the ring and won the rumble, eliminating Bret Hart for last. Hart was upset so he showed the clip during next RAW episode and WWF decided to exclude Austin from the Championship match and to set up Austin vs Hart at WM 13. It was the famous Austin vs Hart submition match with Shamrock as Special Guest Referee, with the double turn, Austin bleeding, in the middle of the ring, he refused to tap out and passed out
There’s a middle part to this story. Because of the controversy of Austin’s win a match between Austin, Bret Hart, Vader, & Undertaker was made for a fatal four way elimination match for the vacant WWE Title at Final Four In Your House (note: former champ HBK had vacated the title when he “lost his smile” which a longer story) Bret won at the PPV but lost the title next night on Raw to Sycho Sid thanks to interference by Austin further setting up the Wrestlemania 13 match between the two.
incorect Hart showing the clip led to the final 4 match for the title at IYH Final Four. Bret won but lost the title to Sid on Raw
@@ericbundy1747I was about to mention that In Your House match in less descriptive detail. Thanks for the contribution! 😅
@@ericbundy1747 then at WM Sid shit himself in the match against Taker
Today's stupid generation would've called him a cheater lol
3:52 John talking about Mickie James entering the rumble as Knockouts champion "Never again" fast forward and Jordynne Grace enters the Rumble. WWE is truly at it's peak right now 🔥🔥
aged poorly with positive results
97 Austin was eliminated by Bret but snuck back in to win when regs didn't see. They ran a rematch for the final 4 to determine title contender
I also think undertaker held the title at the time and was in a rivalry with Shawn. I could be wrong maybe Shawn held the title leading up to 13.
That's not entirely true.
Austin won the 97 rumble and allegedly Bret was supposed to beat Shawn for the title before Wrestlemania
Shawn didn't want to do the job so he "lost his smile" and to crown a new champion they did the IYH Final Four PPV giving the last 4 participants a chance to win the title. Bret won but lost the belt to Sid the next night on Raw.
it was taker vs sid for the wwe championship on the main event of mania@@Unsaid86
@@thatguywiththehat6957 I mean, Shawn also received a legitimate herniated disc during that casket match 🤷
He didn't want to further injure himself, and Taker basically just said "change the match, suck it up".
@@nolankuffner3573 the casket match was 1998 this was 1997
Currently watching this before my flight to Tampa. I’m so excited to see this year’s Rumble live!
I saw it live in 2020 right before the pandemic. It was badass
Section 302! Down visiting my in-laws and realised it was 15 miles (or 45 minutes due to traffic and water being in the way) away. My first big 4 since WrestleMania XX.
When John said "never again" regarding tna/impact star participating in wwe, I was like OH he's eating CROW now lol 😂😂😂
Listening to this quiz while driving to Tampa for the Royal Rumble!
3:49 “never again” lol
"No more time to bounce back, this is the wager". Sophie that was ice cold brutal 🤣
I think sid challenged for the title that mania and crapped himself in the ring
@@kennethabebdroth8513Specifically, he shit himself (or you could say...Shid himself) right before or during Taker getting him up for the Tombstone. So peak rankness for Taker.
"Never Again..." 🤣
So context for Austin's 97 RR win. I think it was the case Bret had thrown Austin out of the match, but the refs were distracted with some other chaos going on so no one saw Austin get eliminated, so Austin ran back in and threw out Bret and won the match. So i think it was cause he cheated. He didnt get the title match and the feud got so heated they had their awesome submission match at WM13. With iconic shot of austin passing out with blood over his face while locked in the sharpshooter.
Yes exactly
First question is a bit of a trick. Austin won the Rumble in '97 but didn't get the title shot. Then he got the title shot in '99 despite not winning the Rumble. So he did end up with 3 Rumble wins and 3 Mania title shots.
This
These guys are too nice to each other when competing... I need some heel/face confrontation guys!
3:50 “never again” little did he know…
I felt good about your wager answer too John. He was leading the Nexus that year and I remember him and a few Nexus members being alone during the Rumble waiting for the next entrants to come out and I thought he was cutting promos while waiting.
“Never again” then literally Jordan Grace showed up 😂
I think the 97 WrestleMania was Bret vs Austin in a submission match with Ken shamrock as the guest referee
Yes. It's considered one of the all time great Mania matches.
punk and cody are like 13th and 14th all time with 18 elims each. another awesome video boys
Wouldn’t that be tied for 13th then
well there are a few people tied on the list so @@rtrichar
3:51 didn't she also come to the ring to her Impact theme, "Hardcore Country"?
"Never Again." Sirry didn't age to well.
John's comment at 3:50 aged poorly very quickly XD
just want to say i love the channel!! its been a full year of me being subscribed, i remember watching this video last year and just loving the quizzes! thanks for making great content!
3:51 "never again" (spoilers: it happened again with a different person)
I specifically remember punk’s sermonon the mount promo (that’s what they called it) because my grandfather and I went to the 2010 royal rumble in Atlanta because I had just finished chemo. We ended up staying at the hotel that most of the wrestlers were staying at, I’m pretty sure most of the pictures are still on my Facebook
video 97 of telling john to watch nxt
Is this gonna be every video? Kinda lame
Bro nobody care
Maybe he should go back and watch some old rumbles😅
Or just wrestling in general
How do you know he didn't already?
In the 97 Rumble. Austin Eliminated by Bret Hart but referees didn’t see it due to outside shenanigans, and he jumped back in and eliminated Bret to win.
Due to the controversy kicked up by Bret the title was put on the line at In Your House: Final Four
( HBK relinquished “lost his smile”) with the the final four entries in the rumble that being Austin,Bret,Taker and Vader. Bret won to become champ but I believe he defended the title against Sid and Austin cost Bret leading to their match at Mania 13
They said never again seen for the mickie James thing but literally later that night jordynne grace tna ko champ showed up in the women’s rumble
Kurt Angle’s first match during the Royal Rumble was in 2000 when he faced the debuting Taz in the opening match of that year’s Royal Rumble PPV. But his first time competing in the actual Royal Rumble match wasn’t until 2002, as beat Triple H to retain the WWF Championship in the 2001 Royal Rumble PPV but didn’t enter the actual Royal Rumble match itself that year.
i think the WM13 match for stone cold was the bret hard submission match with the double turn
Dang, almost sweep city for me! I missed the Kurt Angle question
So many people are close to what happened in 97. So yes Austin was eliminated from the rumble but came back in since no refs saw the elimination and therefore eliminated taker, Vader, and Bret Hart at the end to win it. It was then decided after Shawn Michaels “lost his smile” he gave up the WWF/E Title and a fatal four way was announced for the February In Your House: Final Four PPV. The Final Four match was with Hart vs Austin vs Vader vs Taker for the WWF title. You could win the match by pinfall, Submission, or eliminated by being thrown over the top rope. Bret Hart ended up winning the match and the title but lost it to Sycho Sid the next night on Raw. Therefore at Mania we got Hart vs Austin submission match and Sid vs Taker for the WWF/E title in which Taker won.
Hey I made this quiz. Thanks for using it!
Thanks for sending this in!
Sophie would be happy to know Drew Carey is also in the WWE Hall of Fame.
3:51 *john cena tears through the background* Are you sure about that?
I actually remember the Kurt Angle one. He interrupted HHH's return from injury to announce his entry into the rumble.
If you haven't watched Steve Austin vs Bret Hart at WM 13 in 1997, go do it right now. It is without hyperbole one of the greatest matches in WWE history.
1:52 stone cold faced Bret Hart in a submission match, while the wwf title was fought for in a no dq match taker vs sycho sid
Sid fought Undertaker for the title at Mania 13 but beyond that I can't tell you how that came about. Before my time watching wrestling.
At the Royal Rumble 97, Austin was eliminated by Bret Hart but referees didn't see it cause they were distracted with Mankind and Terry Funk brawling outside. Austin reentered the ring, eliminated Undertaker, Vader and Bret Hart to win the match. Shortly after, Shawn Michaels vacated the WWF Championship because he didn't feel like losing to Bret at Mania and a 4-Way Battle Royal was set at the next In Your House event with Austin and the 3 men he eliminated for the belt. Bret won it but lost the next day on Raw to Sycho Sid thanks to an Austin intervention. Sid/Taker and Bret/Austin were set for Mania 13. Bret and Austin got a last chance to wrestle for the belt when Sid defended the title against Bret in a cage match a few days before Mania but Bret lost despite Austin intervening to help him this time.
3:54 never again… aaaannd just happen again XD
I love you guys / your channel/the royal rumble/cm punk will win it I hope
Got a Sweep City, I love these type of quizzes
Watching this a day later and john said never again of a knock out champion but sike there was
10pts
#AndNew Undisputed SCW Champion, Dante!
Hitman vs Austin happened at WrestleMania 13 in an I Quit match.
SO HYPED FOR THE RUMBLE!!!!
Funny you should say that John about a tna champion showing up in a royal rumble welp it just happened again
Come on guys, Rock was telling you to…. ACKNOWLEDGE HIM!
Happy rumble day guys! 🫡
john saying "never before seen, never again".. about TNA knockouts champion in the rumble meanwhile.. im watching this after the rumble when current knockouts champion is entered this one
Wtestlemania 13 was the submission match between Stone Cold and Bret Hart
Potential Spoilers below
6:54 I could be wrong but I think only the first one wasn't for a title shot(I think it was just a bunch of money), it was also kind of a trial run because Vince wasn't too fond of the idea.
7:09 That's Mania's John!!! I believe the first Rumble was in 1988.
Stone Cold wrestled Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 13 in one of the best mania matches of all time which in my opinion was the making of Stone Cold being a top guy 👏 he threw Bret Hart out of the Rumble but the refs never seen Austin was already eliminated from the match
Bret hart and Steve Austin wrestled at WM 13 in submission match. The biggest match in Steve’s career up until that point. I just don’t understand how you could be huge wrestling fans and not know this 🤦🏻♂️
Here right after the TNA women’s champion appeared at the 2024 royal rumble
The first question is wrong. Austin won in 97, 98 and 2001. He didn’t receive a world title match at Mania in 97, however, he didn’t win the Rumble in 99 (Vince McMahon did), but Austin beat him in February at St Valentines Day Massacre to take his spot and main evented Mania that year. Austin won 3 Rumbles (97,98,01) and challenged for the title 3 times (98,98,01) and won all 3.
Depending on how you interpret the wording, Q1 can be either true or false. If it’s in relation to how many title shots Stone Cold had as a result of Rumble wins, it’s true. However, that’s not specified by the wording, and the correct answer is false, because Stone Cold received three title shots: 98, 99 and 01.
Austin was eliminated in 97 but the refs didn’t see it. Bret should have won the Rumble. So they did a 4 way to determine who would compete for the title and Undertaker won. It was that legendary Austin/Bret match at 13.
Am I tweaking or did C.M Punk also cut a few promos in the 2011 one?
In 97 at Wrestlemania 13 Stone cold fought bret hart instead of the WWE champion which became one of the greatest matches in wrestling history
Austin faced Bret Hart at Wrestlemanja 13 with the iconic double turn and Undertaker faced Sycho Sid for the title in the main event that year.
Austin was eliminated and went back in but the refs were distracted. This lead to fatal four which match between last four men. Was supposed to be for title shot at wm13 but hbk lost his smile. Gave wwf title up and match for the title. Bret won it and then lost the belt next night to sid. Thanks to Austin setting up the I quit match at 13.
I was gonna explain the '97 Austin Rumble, but like, 7 people already beat me to it. More of these quizzes! I excel at them. 😅
That "never again" about knockout champiom appearing aged like 3 month old milk 24h later 😂
For Cody Rhodes
I he's on top 5 top 10 time in the royal rumble
He got a lot a Early entrants and got a lot of the time
97 Bret Hart and Steve Austin are in a feud since Survivor Series 96. They fight in the Rumble. Austin gets thrown out by Bret but all the referees are distracted. Austin comes back into the ring and eliminates undertaker Vader and Bret Hart. Bret Hart starts complaining about the unfair elimination. The Officials remove Austin as a contender but still considers him the RR winner. As such at the next PPV there's a 4 way to determine the new top contender (hart/austin/undertaker/vader). Hart and Austin start beating each other up and Undertaker wins the Match. As such at WrestleMania we got Undertaker vs then WWF Champion Sycho Sid, and in a submission match Austin vs Hart. This match is quite famous as it represent a double turn between Hart and Austin (Austin becomes face for the first time in WWF) it's a pivital moment for Austin rise to stardom and this is were the image of Austin's bloody face comes from
sophies voice is so soothing bro, like it it makes me want to sleep
Austin cheated to win the '97 Rumble. The last four participants had a match at In Your House: Final Four to determine the true number one contender. At the same time, Shawn had to relinquish the title to recover from a back injury in hopes of avoiding surgery (like Rollins in 2024) so the match was made for the title. Bret won the belt at Final Four and then lost it on Raw to Sid due to interference from Austin which set up Austin/Hart at Wrestlemania 13 and Sid/Undertaker in the main event.
97 was the year Austin won.... This was due to hbk not wanting to drop the belt to Bret. So they went the screwy route to make the submission match.... Launched his career.
"Never again" 3:50
Stone Cold won the 97 Rumble by cheating because he had already been eliminated by Bret. Instead, he, Bret, Vader and Undertsker fought in a Four Corners Elimiantion match for the vacant title at the February PPV, Final Four: In Your House. Bret won and dropped it to Syd the next night setting up Taker vs Syd at Mania for title. Bret and Austin ended up having their Submission match at Wrestlemania 13.
The reason all the wackiness with the title happened is cause after HBK won the title at Rumble 97, he was supposed to face Bret and return the favor putting Bret over after Bret put him over the previous year at Mania 12. It is believed Shawn refused to put over Bret and instead vacated the title cause he “lost his smile”
We're in 2024, we had another TNA Champion in the RR and The Rock is getting booed again. Weird times!
Stone Cold was eliminated by Bret Hart, but the refs didn't see him.get eliminated. So he entered the ring and proceeded to eliminate Undertaker, Vader and Bret Hart. Guerilla Monsoon then ruled on Raw the following night that there would be a playoff between Vader and Undertaker, then Brett and Stone Cold. Undertaker won and faced Sud at Wrestlemania while Brett and Stone Cold had the submission match.
And the most crazy is that Drew Carrey is an hall of famer 😂
Austin vs Bret happened at WM13 instead. However, Austin did not win the 1999 Rumble, but did get a WWE Title shot at WM15 vs The Rock. So he technically did win 3 Rumbles and got 3 Mania Title shots, but they didn't coincide
W13 was Brett v Austin I think
I was thinking the title was on the line win Brock was in it in 2020. But he was just there as the champ right? Then Drew went on to win. Anyway love the content guys! Keep up the good work!!
Yes, that's how it went down in 2020. I didn't realize Brock was WWE Champ at the time
For the 1997 Royal rumble, Stone Cold was thrown out of the ring by Bret Hart but the refs didn't see it because they were too busy dealing with Mankind on the opposite side of the ring who was eliminated and was throwing a hissy fit outside the ring so Austin came back into the ring and eliminated Bret Hart who was the last man left in the rumble. Then they had a fatal four way at the next In Your House pay per view between The Undertaker, Bret Hart, Stone Cold and Vader for the vacant WWF Championship but Bret Hart won the title and the next night on raw, Stone Cold cost Bret Hart the title in a match against Sycho Sid so Stone Cold faced Bret Hart at Wrestlemania in a submission Match while Sycho Sid went to Wrestlemania and lost the title to The Undertaker. At Wrestlemania 13, Stone Cold came in as the heel and Bret Hart came in as the face but by the end of the match the roles were reversed as the fans started to cheer for Stone Cold's never giving up attitude and booed Bret Hart's relentless violent assault on Stone Cold. It was the perfect double turn.
Kurt made a big deal to hhh about 02 being his first rumble. Since the year before when the first rumble of his career happened. He was already champion.
Steve Austin vs Bret Hart bloody match 13 .
I love me some royal rumble quizzes
Easy sweep for me royal royal is probably my most rewatched ppv
I also was pretty convinced the Vince McMahon win was also for the belt??? Was it not??
3:51 "never again" - well, that didn't age well :D
So excited for the Rumble
Missed two (2nd and wager). not bad
How have you not watched Austin VS Hart at mania
good to see the champ being back
I went Sweep City on this vid!
Austin was eliminated in 97 but no one saw it so he came back in and eliminated everyone. They did a 4 way number 1 contender at next ppv with the last 4 guys in rumble. At least I think that’s how it went
Punk sat down in the ring during the 2011 Rumble while all his Nexus goons threw out everyone else who came in for like the first half of the match but he didn't cut a promo
In the 1997 rumble Stone Cold was eliminated by Bret Hart but the referees were distracted and never saw it. So Austin entered the ring again, eliminated Bret and won the match (i believe it as final 4 or 5) so for that the WWF president stripped Austin of his WWF championship match at Wrestlemania 13
97 rumble was when Shawn lost his smile. which led to the Hart v Austin
you guys should do attitude era watch parties
I actually did my first sweep city during this quiz
I see several answers but most are missing some details. Austin won in 97 but he cheated. Bret had eliminated him and he snuck back in while the refs were distracted. He threw bret out and won. Because he cheated they decided to put the number 1 contendership up in a 4 way match at the February ppv. This ended up being for the title because hbk, who was champion, vacated the title because he "lost his smile". Bret won the title and it was supposed to be bret vs austin for the at the title at mania 13. At the same time sid was set to face taker. Sid and Bret had a cage match on a raw to see which match would be for the title. Austin and taker would try to interfere on behalf of their mania opponents to try to secure their chance at the title at wm. Sid won and this lead to Bret's famous "this is bs" promo where he shoved vince. Bret defeated austin at mania when he passed out and taker defeated Sid for the title with assistance from bret
He did win the 1997 royal rumble but he fought Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 13 and lost when he passed out
