The reason I class this as a “mystery siren” is because it seems to be a hybrid of a Castings and Klaxon/Secomak. The siren looks as if it has a Secomak motor and rotors but has Castle Castings stators and mount. The sound of this siren aswell doesn’t quite match up with a Castle Castings either. Before you say this is a single phase Castings, if you listen to the video that Heritage War Sirens uploaded of his friends single phased Castings, you will hear that the wind up is much slower and the pitch is higher. I don’t know what to call this siren that is seen at this base because no one really knows the name of it, but it seems UK and Ireland have more of these models in places such as Belfast, Newton Aycliffe and Thames use this siren too. It sounds identical to a GP12 but quieter and slightly lower pitched.

This is wicked! Definitely sounds like a Castle rather than a GP12 imo. Has that very old school lower pitched undertone to it. Lovely stuff!

@@hmsirensandfirealarmsthat siren sounds exactly like the sirens at newton aycliffe as the wind down is faster than a Carter castle castings or similar siren with a longer air raid style attack signal. I bet its a custom set up but the newton aycliffe sirens defo sound a hybrid air raid signal like the gents at hampton court. It has a faster attack signal. This siren sounds nice rather than a harsh saw like tone of a carter gents castle castings or a secomak GP/CS8

@@hmsirensandfirealarms so the siren on the hampton court waterworks is a frankenstien siren like this one. I love the way it sounds like a klaxon GP12 as its not harsh and it dousnt sound like a a hand planer like the secomak or a gents ect. Did you know australia has a very odd dual rotor siren that looks like a large gents but the rotors are the ssme size as the motor housing . It has a large motor housing and has a rather haunting sound to it. its on laydley fire station

Great video as always dude! I wonder if this was made by Gryphon as they made some unusual looking sirens I was told, there is someone in the US who owns a Gryphon 2048 and it looks very similar to a vertical mount single tone Carter

Its not the air raid attack. Seems to be a custom attack tone or the siren has stiff bearings witch makes the wind down faster

@hmsirensandfirealarmsits a nice dounding siren and not raspy like most secomak castle castings or carter. Its more like a KLAXON GP12 although its not. I can hear a little bit of the deep undertone but not as mutch as a SECOMAK GP/CS8 or KLAXON GP/CS8. Its old school but with less of the low buzz undertone unlike other coldwar or newer dual tone sirens. Thats why i love the sound of a KLAXON GP12 as its not as ear numbing and i like these british mistery sirens.
