I think it’s ideal to have continuity, in addition to that I like how he seemingly has been promoted wherever he goes and players love him. I also think the increase in takeaways could be a result of his meetings. Overall Kyle needs to ensure there’s a greater level of success than Wilks experienced or this could prove detrimental long term. Based on their track record so far I’ll give Kyle and Lynch benefit of the doubt. I expect big things out of someone who’s been part of this 4-3 scheme since it’s emergence. Also Staley I think offers pretty good value as assistant head coach considering how positively he was viewed prior to his chargers stint. There’s tons of DCs that don’t make good head coaches, for instance Fangio.
I wanted Chris Kiffin, but I'm on board with the Sorenson hire. The other thing about Sorenson is that he was the QB at Virginia Tech right before Michael Vick took over there like you mentioned. Yeah he switched to DB at that point, but he still has the QB mindset that he uses to counter opposing QB play and that's what makes it so intriguing. I'm optimistic.
I did highlight his time as qb before switching to Db. I think Sorensen has a complete view of football considering he’s spent time on offense, special teams and defense. This is actually extremely beneficial as you alluded to especially when coaching!
