A mid-winter beauty. Even a ground hugging young plant is very attractive, with the unusual structure of its slightly twisted foliage. It makes a great stand alone specimen too.
Excelente video !! Feroz it’s one of my favorite aloes but I always have problems to recognize the difference between feroz and marlothii . Thanks for let us see your beautiful plants 🌵
A have what I think is an aloe ferox and it has a bloom stem 28 inches high. It was too cold here in upper NY state to put outside and we have not had many sunny days. days, I am thinking that is why the stem is so long. The blossoms buds are far apart and orange,
i just bought one of these , i live in central florida , i also have alot of south african plants that do great in this zone 9b. my lions tail plants/ bush flowers remind me of this aloe.
oh wow it's so gorgeous! I've planted so many of these in my garden. they are hybrid aloes and bred to grow and flower quickly and relatively young. fingers crossed!
There are so many aloes, with new crosses being developed all the time. Just today I saw a white Aloe ferox on hybridizer Kelly Griffin's Facebook feed!
wow thats a stunner! Im going to do some temperature conversion and see if it will be hardy outside in the northwest of england. Thanks for showing us!
Wow such an amazing large flower! Im in england so we can only really grow a striatula all year round outside, other varieties have to come inside for winter
Beautiful! I have a few Aloe ferox in the landscape but they are only a few years old and so no blooms just yet. Roughly how old would you say the specimen is in your video?
Keep the dead leaves. They protect the trunk from sunburn in summer and frost in winter. IMHO the way they curl after they dry looks amazing---much more interesting than a naked trunk.
I live in Nigeria and I like what I saw in your video. Also my state is on the plateau where a lot of tropical species of plant survive abd adapt well. Is it possible to get a plant or seed to try grow and see it's survival?
I don’t know about seed availability here in the US or what can be sent to Nigeria, but aloes grow wild in much of your continent so perhaps you can source them there?

I'm in Cumbria and an aloe like this will turn to mush with a frost. It also won't flower in winter due to lack of sunlight

Wow absolutely lovely, thanks for sharing!
That's beautiful. I tried growing in zone 9a NorCal and it succumbed to the cold.
Oh! That's a shame.
Beautiful aloe! I also ordered seeds of such a aloe I will plant! Did you plant this aloe from seeds or a plant?

I have a mature plant in my SoCal yard. Should I trim away the dead growth at the base of the plant?

How old it is?
can I propagate Alow from a leaf cutting and just stick it in a pot with soil? and what type of soil is fit for it?
Beautiful, where i live unfortunately aloe plants don't become soo big
I just purchased seeds and got extra "red fox aloe" seeds, not sure if the company misspelled it so I have no clue what seeds I have lol
Well if it's Aloe ferox, you'll find out in six or seven years. 😉
Very cool video!) Please tell me, is it true that this plant is rare and may disappear due to extermination by humans !?
Can these be propogated or how do oyu harvest the seeds?
It's best done via offsets.
