existe algo en el mundo que mike herrera no haga bien??? esta cancion me llego a otro nivel... recuerdo a alguien!!! something exist, that mike's doesn`t make good? i remember somebody with this song
Descendent t You will note those 3 are sitting in the little shade provided by the tent over the stage. It was blazing hot that day, on the asphalt of a parking lot. Mike was a late add to this lineup and played at about noon, when all the punkers are usually sleeping off the night before. ;) There were more people there...they were just seeking shelter from the heat and not standing in front of the stage.
I agree it is a great song. Unfortunately for the rest of the world, it isn't available on recording yet (at least that I know of), as Mike points out at the beginning of the video.
Not sure how it went down, but he was a last-minute addition to the lineup. He's a very stand-up guy who does good things in the community, and I believe it was "billed" (i.e.: posted on myspace) as under his name.
It's not mxpx, it's Mike Herrera, who plays with mxpx, but also plays many solo gigs/Tumbledown gigs. It's also a local event, so all his friends are still in bed as this was 'early' for the music crowd around here. ;) Mike's a very nice guy, and does a lot of local charity work. This was a charity event, and he was added to the bill very late, so you have to take that into account, too. I think he was added 3 days before the gig.
I hate to say it but I kind of agree with you. The Tumbledown stuff just doesn't feel as authentic. This song is purdy though. I mean, don't get me wrong, I really love MxPx and am more than happy to support and advocate for all other ventures by these guys, but, yeah, Tumble is hit and/or miss. Again, I really do like this particular song.
This is just still amazing!
one of my top ten songs of all time
Going to see him tomorrow at the Local 662 in St. Pete, Fl. Haven't seen him since the MxPx days like 10yrs ago :)
Such a nice version and great song 😎👌👏 thanks for this upload.

At the time the video was recorded, it was unreleased.

Mike Herrera is great but is not punk at all.
