I disagree I think the 3rd period of game 3 was the turning point. Even after going down in series 0-3 they figured something out during 2nd intermission of game 3 and almost came back down 4-1. They started to find themselves and gain momentum in 3rd period of game 3 which continued through rest of series.

Don’t really need Vinny. He’s a big body, but he doesn’t help with his untimely penalties. I think Derek Ryan is probably gone, Perry is probably gone, Kane might be on LTIR, which frees up a bit of cap space, however, Bouchard, Draisaitl, and McDavid are all probably earning a huge pay increase, as much as I’d like to see them take a pay cut to help with salary cap implications.. they’re worth whatever they’re asking

@@coryholte5305 I agree, imo I would try and trade Ceci for a cheaper D man, idk what the rumoured price for Vinny is but if it’s 2.5 or less I’d ship out Ceci to get some cap flexibility. Re sign Brown Janmark and Henrique hopefully will take a pay cut, get Drai’s deal done probably a 8x13.5-14 Mill, Re sign Bouchard to 8x 9.5. Buyout Jack Campbell. Idk what to do with Nurse’s contract as much as I like him it’s undoubtedly a problem.

Lots of little things turned this series around. But two of the bigger ones 1. Keeping the puck on the outside, limiting Panthers chances to low % areas 2. Stretching the ice using the same strategy Dallas used against them keeping Florida from being able to overload them in their own zone

Purely magical.. words do not really exist in terms of were this Oilers team is at in all time history of any club, team, or whatever you can put a group of people not only achieve a lifelong dream but to do it in this fashion and completely dump the entire state of Florida up off there pedestal and elevate themselves out of a hole so deep that absolutely nobody was expecting them to come out of. With the odds being less then 4% and lets be real here because im a die-hard Oilers fan and ive waited half of my life for shit like this to go down and not in a million years did i think it was gonna happen anywhere near the way it has.. if they pull it off this is gonna change the life's of not just people directly involved with either franchise but , as a super fan im absolutely in euphoria goosebumps galore and i don't even know how I'm gonna sleep over the next few days.. now i can say this though Austin hockey in game 3 going into The third period after totally one sided hockey puck luck happening for the opposition and myself i was in an utter state of shock watching the chance of a lifetime slip away from this OILERS team that deserved to be in a way better position then they found themselves.. like it was absolutely heartwrenching to watch.. now i can see if Florida was actually the better team i would have accepted my team's fate and just put this year's progress of making The Cup final and behind me and chalked it up to expirence and went back to the same mindset i have for every failed attempt at a cup... But Edmonton was the better team and for about 6 of them first 8 periods.. so i was heartbroken for our team and ultimately anyone who has any thing to do with Oilers..... But they woke up and since then haven't even really looked back and they have been absolutely bin in full Beast mode and pulled off 75% of this unthinkable task off.. with just one more win to get yeah it will be the hardest goal this group of boys will ever have achieve but as Skinner said if anyone can do this its the OIL... JUST BELIEVE MY FRIENDS BELIEVE NOW BELIEVE FOREVER.. and regardless of the games outcome they have perminitly cemented there legacy in not just the modern day but the entire history of hockey.. i can easily say 2023-24 Stanley Cup finals have already been one for the ages.. BRING HOME YOUR SIXTH STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONSHIP AND Float above the world and be proud of yourselfs for the craziness you have already achieved.. please win this for all of Canada

Just to add, another thing that i dont think gets talked about a lot is the travel. I just think the panthers could be fatigued. We all know that florida to edmonton is the longest travel for both teams, however I do think that the oilers are more equipped for longer travel because if you do live in edmonton, just to travel to other cities takes very very long. They're more used to it and Florida isnt.
Im not saying for sure that it is DEFINITELY the factor, im saying it COULD be one of the factors of their struggle.

  • @shwnbur77

What’s weird is that the game 3 loss is when the momentum changed. Even in a loss the 3rd period of that game the Oilers started to find themselves. They figured something out in the 2nd intermission of game 3 and have been the much better team since. So even though they went down 0-3 they were able to feed off the 3rd period of that game and have not looked back since. In game 7 I think the 1st goal will be critical. The team that scores 1st will probably win the game. Florida has to score 1st to stop momentum.

I'm an Oilers fan but Game 5 was stolen by the refs for Edmonton. Worst calls ever, the first one called was on Barkov for nothingness because he was about to score a goal. The next one because Nikola was boxing out an Edmonton player, of which was NOT a penalty at all. They called it just because the Edmonton guy fell down...apparently, it's a mystery. Then Tkachuk was seriously tripped bad and they call embellishment on Tkachuk. Then Okposo slightly had a soft touch near the Edmontons players hand and they called a slash on something not even close to a slash. The refs have been one-sided, for Edmonton, in every game. Panthers game 6 are worried about playing their game because the refs are disgusting. Rigged. Bad karma on Edmonton

Watch EDM throughout the game, they just anticipate the cycle game, aka take the step to the boards before the puck goes there. FL, IMO needs to change this and take it to the net or just put shots towards Skinner. I would also like to see different dump in's. Sometimes put the shot/dump in towards Skinner. Try to get O zone face offs or a mistake by Skinner. Again the predictability of FL on the the dump raps have the Oilers D men below the dots ready for that. Lastly, I would like to see the PP go to a 3rd/4th line mentality aka outwork the PK and keep it simple. No fancy plays and have a shooting mentality. All in game 7. FL won 3 games, no reason a 4th cant be won

Oilers won and their top player didn't get a point... thats *bad* news for the Panthers.

And the Panthers top players were on the ice when the Oilers depth players were scoring. Bennett -4, Barkov -2 Tkachuk -3 and so on!

The unprecedented suck of the Oilers, something never seen before in over 100 years of league history, may finally pay off! Other organizations are sure to follow being the worst team in the league for multiple years to get 4 1st overall picks and a 3rd overall in 5 years.
Unfortunately, the NHL had to change draft rules to account for the theretofore never seen suck of the Oilers, so the Oilers model may be tough to replicate.

I told all of you that if anyone could bring his team back from down 3-0 it was McDavid and everyone laughed. It’s not over yet but most of you are on the bandwagon now!! 😂

I’m done being a panthers fan when they blow this series. They’ve put their fans through so much crap throughout the years and should be the next team to relocate. At least I’m also a kraken fan, so I don’t hate the NHL all together. Game 7 isn’t a “new game,” Oilers have all the momentum. Never gonna wear their gear in public ever again. Hopefully the kraken and oilers build a rivalry some point in time

I know it hurts now, but even if you lost game7, you'll end the season as the 2nd best team. It would be a colossal choke job, but you're team is still stacked going into the next season. You'll be back :)

@@Brian-uq4wu at the end of the day, the only team that is remembered is the winner. We will have lost two cup finals, and lots of the free agents won’t want to come back after this. Lots of the new fans will be lost, and we will eventually be sent into a rebuild and relocation that should’ve happened if Bill Zito didn’t save the Panthers. This next game determines the future of the Panthers franchise

@@colbykistner3393 But it's not over yet! And I don't think people will ditch a team so close to a cup. In fact, I bet players would love to come to a contender. No chance a 2nd place team, if you lose, has to go into a rebuild just because of a choke.
I'm an oilers fan but I feel like I'm talking you off a ledge haha. If you lose, give it some time. It's going to be okay, friend :)

Panthers 🐆 GM Bill Zeto sure looked last night like one of the Supervillains 🦹‍♂️ that battle vs 🦇 Batman in the comicbooks/ movies 🎥 !!! He was giving Oilers fans that “Death Stare” @ the end of last night’s game!
