What should I do? In my high school their offering Japanese classes, however, my mom wants me to learn French. I don't know what to do, I don't want to take French because I'm not interested in it. I'm scared if I change my class to Japanese my mom will get mad at my decision. And ask me why I want to learn Japanese than French. Should I choose Japanese or stick with French?
Choose whichever you like you can't force yourself to learn a language cause learning a language also need immersion so if you don't like the language try to explain your mom in a way so understands your interest.
I would suggest you to join a language that you like, your interested in, taking a language that you are interested will help you sometimes learn it quickly. Have a great day 😊😊
Trust if you feel you would rather do something else and feel no motivation for what you are doing then you will not do very good in it. Choose what you want to do you only have one life to live

I admit one of the downsides to studying on your own is you can lose motivation really fast. Like you said, it's about discipline.

When you were writing in Thai, I was trying to compare the meanings to words I know in Korean.
I’m not sure if you’ll be able to answer this, but may I ask where can I purchase the journal you have and what is that textbook in Thai you have that when you had all three books stacked up

I’m currently learning korean, mandarin and thai but haven’t got the motivation to pick up a pen since the war started🥺 the only motivation I got is to pick up Ukranian which I did, a first lesson on duolingo and is so not hard 🤯 I can’t actually wait to learn more. Slava Ukraini❤️🇺🇦

sorry not smart tokki but ive been learning Indonesian, Spanish, Korean and I've attempted many others
spanish - medium for me : lots of resources, similar structure to english, irregular conjugations.. i forget them a lot.
Indonesian - easy : past, future and present tense is easy, svo order as well, hard to pronounce for me though
Korean - hard : sov order (not too hard to get used to) lots of particles and grammar points different to english to remember, formality levels to remember. Verb conjugation is easy for me though and pronunciation is easy and very regular, hangul is easy to learn and lots of resources for vocab etc
I've attempted to learn mandarin chinese, gave up and decided to focus on Korean first. once I've become more consistent in Korean ill go back to mandarin to learn some basic language and I'm going to learn hanja, it helps with Korean vocab.
if you're native English speaker, anything with svo structure will be easier like Spanish etc. Korean is similar to turkish so it can be easier to learn if you speak turkish. Knowing chinese characters will make both Japanese and Korean easier at least in vocab, idk about grammar though.
