At a bare minimum fix the ghosting system. I'd think this should be fairly easy to understand... a car that is turned around, cutting corners, or stopped dead on the track should be ghosted

I usually start near the front of the grid because I set one of the faster *clean* times, but then I get punted off on the first couple corners and have to serve out my sentence. Especially since a clean time doesn't mean shit during an actual race in this game, so I can't keep up with corner cutting and using your opponents as brakes.
I've been racing since Fm1 so any tracks from that game I usually have no trouble pulling away from the nosebleeds, I still wouldn't consider myself 'fast' though

@Steve Jones I think he knows it's just a game, but what Petar is complaining about is realism. There's a reason why there are games like Crash Team Racing & Mario Kart that are way different than games like Gran Turismo and Forza. Those are arcade style and simulation style racing games respectively. As a guy who likes both kinds of games, there's a kind of code when it comes to Sim racing games. People like Sim racers for their realism. In an actual race like NASCAR or Formula 1, it's rare to see people just full on ramming their cars into each other since it's very dangerous and they may actually be fined for it. At the end of the day, it's a game. No doubt about it. However, if you've ever been Go-Karting in real life (It's a lot of fun. Especially Electric karts because they're usually WAY faster than Gas ones) they have rules like no bumping, no pitting, no drifting (I think that one's dumb) for people's safety. So Petar is basically saying follow the freakin' rules and honor the driver's code. TL;DR: Don't be a jackass driver! If you want to pass someone up, use your skill instead of using your car as a battering ram.

Fighting games is the best way to see the difference in my opinion. It's the difference between pro fighting gamers and casual players who play for fun. For example there's a huge difference between Daigo "The Beast" Umehara and friggin DarkSydePhil (Yes he started out as a Fighting Gamer.) People who compete at fighting game tournaments like EVO are different from your average joe who plays Street Fighter at home with their friends. That was what I was saying in my last comment. The people who play for fun, especially in a trolly way (ramming, pitting, etc.) will always be perceived by those who seriously play as not playing it right. The reverse also applies as well of course lol.

Forza 7 is in such a sad state. Nothing in the big July update helped with multiplayer except for slightly faster menus when selecting a car. Why is Top gear still in the track rotation? Why are sub 1.5 mile tracks even a thing in these big lobbies? Why are people a lap down not ghosted? Turn10 is really a mess these days

Just got my Logitech G920, and thought "HM, maybe I should try some multiplayer for the first time" so I grabbed a friend and gave it a go. 10 races later, I decided I wont ever be playing multiplayer Forza ever again. The drivatars are bad enough, but people are just the worst.
Leeroy Jenkins it’s actually a good game and the Forza Drivers Cup is fun. Just whenever Road Atlanta comes up in the championship I have to turn on my racing line and go to lowest setting because half the track just disappears and it’s impossible to even try and race.
Ramen Jesus I can’t compare Forza 6 to Forza 7 because I only got my Xbox 1 last Christmas, but Forza 7 is enjoyable and feels like a racing simulator.
The only thing I like about The Crew 2's multiplayer is that the races are contactless. It is annoying if you're like me and play in cockpit view, or any other first person camera, having a ghost always swerving in front of you.
They should use that second race as the advert for Forza 7. Who knows, maybe honest advertising will work out for them. I don't do much S class, I figure the faster the cars are the worse the driving will be...and it is bad enough in A class.
Would you also say the faster classes draw the ones who are more 'woot lulz i haz a maclarn i can drive gud' than the ones who'd enjoy, say, driving a lower-tier Focus or Clio?
I've noticed myself, exactly what you've pointed out in the last race of this video. If you can manage to get in the front 1/3 of the race, everyone is racing nice and clean. If you get stuck in the rear 2/3, you're locked in a bumper car match until the next race.
That 16th place finish race was like when you have a huge hangover and are puking all day afterward. The 5th place finish was like standing on top of a mountain and taking in a breath of really fresh air, compared to the other race.
I asked this a 100 times but im still gonna ask it, why is the comunity letting Turn10 do this bcus they clearly dont care about the game until it sells well. The forza comunity needs to get together to make some changes in the online lobbies. Its far worse than GTsport or any other racing game!
deepsky well I see it as an improvement because me and my friends love messing around, having fun ramming each other especially when we do demo derbies but when none of my friend are online and I play by myself online I can finally race a clean race without getting rammed which I think is perfect
András Simon A fair amount of people have tried "getting their attention", and they absolutely said fuck what the fans want with 7. They seem to believe they know what people want. Spoiler alert: they don't and they probably don't care anymore. Horizon is literally miles ahead of current Motorsport at this point and if they don't clean their shit up, Motorsport 8 will get shit on by the loyal fans, and won't even be a contender for a decent game. FYI: The layout at Indy was similar to what F1 last ran here. Indy Car cuts out some turns leading to the Hulman "back" straight. There are now additional turns leading onto the front straight.

Because not everyone who plays is a serious sim racer? Some people just enjoy a knockabout race with some mates now and again. This is what puts people off the sim racer sub genre, the elitistism and arrogance. How do we know half these drivers arnt completely new to the game? If he'd set up a 'clean racing' lobby and people drove like this I'd understand the frustration, but he appears to be just in a random race, so what does he expect?
I think most people with experience have also realized it's much more enjoyable to have a good battle with someone regardless of position than it is to simply finish up front every time. Therefore, they don't have a desire to drive dirty or overly aggressive just to gain one position.
You give people such detailed motives thinking people remember who hit who and they are getting revenge. I really think the back half is just trolling and doesn't care who they hit honestly. They think it's fun to just wreck people and ruin their race while trying to sneak through the mayhem themselves
I had a race the other day on the League racing series. Racing on the Daytona Infield race was pretty clean for the post part and was in second place. I eventually caught up to First place as I was a second and a half faster than everyone in the lobby. As the third lap began I overtook the guy in first place cleanly and rounding the first corner. No issues, just a clean past and a clean first turn. The fourth turn is where the fun began, as we all know, if you are slower than the guy in front of you just ram them off! We round through the s turns and I break for the fourth turn and was rammed from behind, I was able to correct the slid, but being Forza, second place decided to not slow down but continued to hit me and spin me off! I was able to finish second and did not lose any points, but I received a message after the race, and this was the real kicker. He said that it was my fault because I broke for the turn. So now I know for further races to just tune my breaking pleasure to 0 and use the guy in front of me as a break. I love this game, but Forza Turn 10, please fix this!
I found that when I tune the gear range I usually make the gear shifts shorter, which decreases the overall top speed. I found it useful for the more technical tracks being able to shift up faster then my opponents and would make massive increases in the corners, they would catch up along the straights but I would get just enough advantage on them that I won most of my races.
This absolutely pissed me off. Was on FH4 the other day, trying to get a race in or 2 online, it was like watching wheelchair basketball on a skating rink.
Ive commented on this in some of JSR Devons videos too, but is the ghosting system actually getting worse? Honestly it seemed like in the earlier stages of this game after release the game more sensibly ghosted cars quicker than it does now I mean, that yellow corvette parked on the apex of the high speed corner. How is that possibly NOT ghosted?
Your worst race is pretty much my average on Forza! Came back the other day after exclusively on GTS. It is very much just wreckfest under the theme of motorsport. I thought it'd get better after a time where rammers would get bored and move off, but it's gotten worse for sure. So many people in trucks just playing bowling - or using other people as brakes at hairpins. The only solace is that unlike GTS, it's very quick races back to back - so you get a quantity over quality approach - which can be entertaining.
Yo that kid in the corvette trolled one of my S class lobbies as well, he wrecked at the beginning and just started going backwards and trying to wreck whoever was in first every lap. Funny how you run into so many people who you've raced before, you'd think enough people play this game.

Those work because the crossover points are nice and wide most of the time, with jumps and boosts to carry you clear of conflict.

The only thing I like about The Crew 2's multiplayer is that the races are contactless. It is annoying if you're like me and play in cockpit view, or any other first person camera, having a ghost always swerving in front of you.

I don't do much S class, I figure the faster the cars are the worse the driving will be...and it is bad enough in A class.

I've noticed myself, exactly what you've pointed out in the last race of this video. If you can manage to get in the front 1/3 of the race, everyone is racing nice and clean. If you get stuck in the rear 2/3, you're locked in a bumper car match until the next race.
Just stick with GT Sport.
That 16th place finish race was like when you have a huge hangover and are puking all day afterward.
The 5th place finish was like standing on top of a mountain and taking in a breath of really fresh air, compared to the other race.

I asked this a 100 times but im still gonna ask it, why is the comunity letting Turn10 do this bcus they clearly dont care about the game until it sells well. The forza comunity needs to get together to make some changes in the online lobbies. Its far worse than GTsport or any other racing game!

deepsky well I see it as an improvement because me and my friends love messing around, having fun ramming each other especially when we do demo derbies but when none of my friend are online and I play by myself online I can finally race a clean race without getting rammed which I think is perfect

András Simon A fair amount of people have tried "getting their attention", and they absolutely said fuck what the fans want with 7. They seem to believe they know what people want. Spoiler alert: they don't and they probably don't care anymore.
Horizon is literally miles ahead of current Motorsport at this point and if they don't clean their shit up, Motorsport 8 will get shit on by the loyal fans, and won't even be a contender for a decent game. Shame really.

Still has day one glitches, NO balance system such as DR and SR, NO incentive to drive clean, hideously unbalanced cars, shit tracks, shit cars.. but the on track physics at excellent. The game could have been great but turn 10 only cares about pandering to horizon noobs.

FYI: The layout at Indy was similar to what F1 last ran here. Indy Car cuts out some turns leading to the Hulman "back" straight. There are now additional turns leading onto the front straight.
Dear SuperGT, is not your fault if people suck... they all suck... but the question is: why they still playing the game if they suck? It doesnt make any sense, maybe in another universe... who knows. This is what puts people off the sim racer sub genre, the elitistism and arrogance. How do we know half these drivers arnt completely new to the game?
If he'd set up a 'clean racing' lobby and people drove like this I'd understand the frustration, but he appears to be just in a random race, so what does he expect?
I think most people with experience have also realized it's much more enjoyable to have a good battle with someone regardless of position than it is to simply finish up front every time. Therefore, they don't have a desire to drive dirty or overly aggressive just to gain one position.
GT Sport I'd far more realistic than Forza, but Forza isn't actually too bad. It's fun too. But GTS is FARR better
I'd say they are about same for realism, but gts is much better for online.

You give people such detailed motives thinking people remember who hit who and they are getting revenge. I really think the back half is just trolling and doesn't care who they hit honestly. I had a race the other day on the League racing series. Racing on the Daytona Infield race was pretty clean for the post part and was in second place. I eventually caught up to First place as I was a second and a half faster than everyone in the lobby. As the third lap began I overtook the guy in first place cleanly and rounding the first corner. No issues, just a clean past and a clean first turn. The fourth turn is where the fun began, as we all know, if you are slower than the guy in front of you just ram them off! We round through the s turns and I break for the fourth turn and was rammed from behind, I was able to correct the slid, but being Forza, second place decided to not slow down but continued to hit me and spin me off! I was able to finish second and did not lose any points, but I received a message after the race, and this was the real kicker. He said that it was my fault because I broke for the turn. So now I know for further races to just tune my breaking pleasure to 0 and use the guy in front of me as a break. I love this game, but Forza Turn 10, please fix this!
I found that when I tune the gear range I usually make the gear shifts shorter, which decreases the overall top speed. I found it useful for the more technical tracks being able to shift up faster then my opponents and would make massive increases in the corners, they would catch up along the straights but I would get just enough advantage on them that I won most of my races.
This absolutely pissed me off. Was on FH4 the other day, trying to get a race in or 2 online, it was like watching wheelchair basketball on a skating rink.
Ive commented on this in some of JSR Devons videos too, but is the ghosting system actually getting worse? Honestly it seemed like in the earlier stages of this game after release the game more sensibly ghosted cars quicker than it does now

Your worst race is pretty much my average on Forza! Came back the other day after exclusively on GTS. It is very much just wreckfest under the theme of motorsport. I thought it'd get better after a time where rammers would get bored and move off, but it's gotten worse for sure. So many people in trucks just playing bowling - or using other people as brakes at hairpins. The only solace is that unlike GTS, it's very quick races back to back - so you get a quantity over quality approach - which can be entertaining.

Yo that kid in the corvette trolled one of my S class lobbies as well, he wrecked at the beginning and just started going backwards and trying to wreck whoever was in first every lap. Funny how you run into so many people who you've raced before, you'd think enough people play this game.

There's a realm of racing that habitual rammers and sore losers are missing out on. In all of my time spent gaming in competitive scenarios: a close race was always the most heart pounding fun I ever had.
the only thing this game needs is: real collisions, realistic car damage, so every time someone crashes the car gets destroyed, drives slower, needs to be serviced etc...
