Honestly this is better then the Microsoft stuff if by slight, and it's maintenance friendly but I just don't see the point as a form factor. You can buy an actual 2 in 1 and have a far more flexible device. I mean you can't even easily use these on your lap and cooling is restricted because of the form factor. You really need a desk or something to use it or forget the keyboard. This isn't so true with the 2 in 1. Sure it's slightly more bulky but it's also more flexible and cheaper over all and you don't have to spend extra for a keyboard. Course bussineses don't care as long as they believe it will enhance the productivity of the person using it. I know many who would lose their lunch with the cost of the Latitude 7400 laptops. Sure it starts at $999.. but that quickly can escalate to $2499 with just a few mouse clicks and only the IT departments that hate you would go with the base model, at $999 the 5000 series is more cost effective anyways. Same can be said for these tablet devices. They have a 3000, 5000, and 7000 series I believe, and the 3000 isn't even worth considering in my mind. If I recall it's all plastic and starts with like a Celeron or Pentium like their laptop counterparts, that's for the IT departments that not only hate you but want you gone! lol.
Check out the Dell latitude 7200 2n1. Much better build quality and the keyboard is also solid. We had a few issues at work with the 5285's. 2 of 5 screen completely worked. the other 3 had a touch response issue 1 inch from the bottom of the screen. It seems to be an issue on a few of the dell forums.
I can buy one of these with an i7, 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB drive for the same price as a Surface Book 1 with an i5 (6th gen), 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB of SSD. This seems to be a better buy. Anyone agree, or is there something I might be missing. The Surface Book is super sexy I must admit.
Wonderful review thanks very much. Greetings from James J Walsh in Limerick city Ireland 🇮🇪
