While that was cool, I felt like I was expecting more at the end. From a price point and the physical size of it, just felt like there should of been alot more to this. More smaller steps maybe, some other interaction with the screen. Still, looks good and glad that you liked it, but it's not a price I'd pay for it.
The reason it's so expensive is beacuse its custom made. They essentially have to create molds and everything to create this box, when you make 1000s of a item it's cheaper beacuse the expense of the molds for the product are factored in and spread out, while he has to pay the full cost
He has enough money, several of his videos have titles like "solving a 3000$ puzzle" and so on. He does this for entertainment and yes he could have just saved the money but he spent it to entertain us and himself. I don't think you should complain.

My favourite part is when Chris calls and speaks in English and the guy on the other end of the line speaks French. They clearly each know that the other understands them, but don't settle on one language to speak. Reminds me of a friend growing up whose mom would speak to her in French and she'd answer in English - every time.
My neighbors are from China, they speak to their children in Mandarin and the kids reply in English. I also have friends from Iran. Their grandmother always spoke in Farsi even to my wife who knows almost no Farsi (she's from US) so my wife would do a lot of smiling and nodding and their grandmother was always proud of how my wife 'knew Farsi'.
i think this was way too simple. for 20 grand one would expect a lot more mechanical movements rather than the button mashing. the circuit wiring was ok. i think the bulk of the money went into fabricating the look of the puzzle. I''ve seen more entertaining puzzles from Chris. Overall it's a dope piece and a cool puzzle but not $20k dope or cool.
One of the most amazing puzzle I've ever seen so far. A bit overpriced in my opinion but sharing something like this with us is very appreciated. Thank you for the experience.
I put this on different comment but il share here as well. The way i break it down as fast as cost may be concerned. It's the price for a unique one of a kind item. There is also how many days it took to make and how many people worked on it. Not to mention material costs and time/effort to engineer this machine(yes it's practically a machine). Then lastly there is the argument of it being a piece of art which makes it practically priceless. At the end of the day, lets be honest. When it comes to works of art, there are people who have paid more for less.
Chris Ramsay 2017: makes a wholesome video about picking a lock puzzle. Chris Ramsay 2020: The world is ending, I found this puzzle in an alien spaceship, I don't know what it does, but I know I need to solve it, wish me luck, I hope I come back alive.

COOLEST INTRO EVER. have been waiting to see what the random shots of you in other videos meant. My partner and I watch together and we got excited like little kids about this one. I stopped at 1:14 to actually write this out. ( i never normally comment) YOU ROCK!!!
This is so cool - but to be honest: i've expected much more than hammering buttons and do a simple wiring. there is so much potential for more. However, I will definitely following this developer
I'd probably never spend money on this, but it can be justified as art. Way more artistic than the 20 million dollar black square at the modern art museum.
@@manictiger yeah... abstract art is a crock of shit... I can't believe people pay so much for that stuff. James franco sold white canvases for I think around 30k each... it was blank.. it came with a description and you were supposed to visually see it on the canvas.... and people bought it...jesus h some people are dumb.
I've been watching Chris solve puzzles for quite a long time now. After seeing this one( and, honestly, I never imagined escape room prop can be so complex), I really think the next logical step is an escape room filled with puzzles with him locked inside. Could be like a mini-series, each episode containing one or more puzzles solves, leading up to the last challenge.
This was made by a company that makes escape room props but those props are usually level 4-5's... this being a level 10 is obviously a more unique and difficult one than what they usually make for escape rooms. If they made something like this for an escape room... no one would escape. and people would be begging to be reimbursed all the time lol
Imagine if the creators actually put a bomb in there. That would’ve been some sick and twisted shit. Reading the countdown thinking you’re just gonna fail the puzzle. When in actuality you’re about to legit be blown tf up.
Dude YES!!!!! I cannot wait to watch this!!! I’m SO HYPE! I can’t wait to get home from work. Thanks for keeping up the content man! Legit helping me keep my sanity while dealing with the public. I truly appreciate it.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the time and effort he puts into not just the puzzles and boxes, but the intro's and outro's as well? The amount of times I've watched his videos and been so thoroughly interested by not just the box but the intro is astonishing.
I would design it to lock out for 24 hours. Next mistake, 48, and so on. There was a game in the late 90's, PC puzzle game that had punishing rewards like that. I hated that game so much, but yeah, i got back innit when the mistake timer ran out, tried again. One particularly difficult one set me back almost a whole working week.
The way to tell a puzzle is good is usually pretty simple. Solve it once without knowing the solution, put it back together and try and solve it a second time. If its dramatically faster the second time compared to the first time its a good puzzle. A good puzzle shouldn't be hard to execute it should be hard to figure out.
I just want to take the time and appreciate the effort put into this. Chris, you never fail to produce 10/10 content EVER. I don't remember the last time I saw anything remotely close to bad on your channel because it's never happened. Your intros alone are absolutely stunning and I think you're ridiculously underrated. My parents speak to me in Arabic sometimes but I answer in english
Lol my bestfriend taught me Spanish over the last few years but i always answer him in English when he speaks Spanish to me he fucking hates it 😂😂
K Lowe Quebec Quoi is very different than French 😂 yea is French but’s it’s very different just a fun fact
Tai Beats 209 i’m from Quebec and that guy sounded more French than quebecois 💁🏼
i think this was way too simple. for 20 grand one would expect a lot more mechanical movements rather than the button mashing. the circuit wiring was ok. i think the bulk of the money went into fabricating the look of the puzzle. I''ve seen more entertaining puzzles from Chris. Overall it's a dope piece and a cool puzzle but not $20k dope or cool.
I don't think their expertise was puzzle making so much as prop production.
I’ve never been so disappointed in a Chris Ramsey video 😔 I thought it was going to be amazing, it was essentially 4 steps...
Of course this isnt 20k
It's a one-of-a-kind, custom branded, work of art that is also a functional puzzle box. It's worth what someone will pay for it.
there's an arduino board and $10 cables... someone made a lot of money off this guy
Seeing a magician getting this hyped and enjoying puzzles/magic tricks really makes me want to start magic, but dang it blows my mind too much.
I’d love to have a giant, complicated looking puzzle box and then just have it be a spin puzzle-
Me: a New Car!!!!
Chris: 1 puzzle I might do two times in my life...
Man it woulda sucked if he had placed the mirror into the drawer and closed it...
Lmao, I said the same thing as I was watching
Why?
Ur Mum 123 Because it would’ve probably locked the mirror in place, and you need the mirror to solve it
@@Hzven You don't need it, but as ramsey discovered, it is very difficult without it
Good luck Chris!! Love watching your vids In my free time
He paid $20K and he still says "they gave me a deck of cards".
24magiccarrot it’s not about the reward, it’s about the journey to the award. That’s what my father always told me.

I think 20k is a bargain for the amount of work that went into that thing.
@@lkajiess true they rlly put in the effort :( people think its easy to make this stuff now wtf
And he was happy about it lol
One of the most amazing puzzle I've ever seen so far. A bit overpriced in my opinion but sharing something like this with us is very appreciated. Thank you for the experience.
What’s the price?
@@Radiofyse 20k $

I love how your names on the front with 01 that’s a cool little touch they did an amazing job
COOLEST INTRO EVER. have been waiting to see what the random shots of you in other videos meant. My partner and I watch together and we got excited like little kids about this one.
I stopped at 1:14 to actually write this out. ( i never normally comment)
YOU ROCK!!!
okay but how do you get this shipped it looks like a bigass bomb
That's what the $20,000 price tag is from.
Quantum nuclear arc reactor...
So much production and detail is amazing I really love this tipe of videos 💯💯💯
This is so cool - but to be honest: i've expected much more than hammering buttons and do a simple wiring. there is so much potential for more. However, I will definitely following this developer
Yeah cool and expensive.. Maybe thats why Chris is acting so not natural and weird for me. Like for puzzle just for puzzle
@@manictiger do you mean the "miroslaw balka how is it " giant black room at tate mordern

I was mocking Malevich's Black Square, arguably the start of modern art.
He should play The Room: A Dark Matter in VR. Bet he would have a good time with it.
So so you are asking him to spend 20 grand every video
That was so bad ass.. love waking up and watching these on the weekend:)
Damn I was hoping it would at least open up to reveal more puzzles. Definitely should have been more to that for 20k. Still a cool video though
Imagine if the creators actually put a bomb in there. That would’ve been some sick and twisted shit. Reading the countdown thinking you’re just gonna fail the puzzle. When in actuality you’re about to legit be blown tf up.
That would be interesting to say the least.
Wouldve been a very impacting reward
you ok bro?
Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes
You think of the most gruesome things
Dude YES!!!!! I cannot wait to watch this!!! I’m SO HYPE! I can’t wait to get home from work. Thanks for keeping up the content man! Legit helping me keep my sanity while dealing with the public. I truly appreciate it.
The absolute best puzzle I've seen you solve. Well done! Well done!
The intro is absolutely amazing!!! How do you manage this awesome stuff!!!!????
I want more details on that LED mask, that thing is sick.
Alex Johnson check Etsy the seller is on Etsy .
They sell them online they're like 20-100+$ depending on quality.
Have you managed to find it? seems like searching there - sound-reactive face mask wont give me that one he's wearing
Avinin1 go onto Etsy type in led mask
The back says CH.R-I5-01, "Chris 1st."
Damn it, I just commented on that haha
Genius.
I love how much effort you put into these, you could just be like ‘hey I got this puzzle box let’s solve it’
I was on the edge of my seat screaming at my phone! Good job bud!!! Can't wait for Wes to accidentally piss on this puzzle at our next party!
Lmfao im waiting
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the time and effort he puts into not just the puzzles and boxes, but the intro's and outro's as well? The amount of times I've watched his videos and been so thoroughly interested by not just the box but the intro is astonishing.
I was waiting for Chris to say "let me try spinning it" 😂
Bro i love these puzzles and i frickin wish i had puzzles like these to solve for vids. You got my dream job man and you deserve it.
Top Tip: Apparently "Trial & Error" is a viable strategy for defusing a bomb. Who knew?
How do you know it’s a bomb? It could be something else

Would liked to have seen what happens when you wait out the timer.
It actually blows up

I think it's an investment
24:47 that face when you realize you just spent 20k on a pack of cards
Might as well be made of diamonds
We need to see what happens when the timer runs out! Both inactive and active! Make it happen!
it blows up. didnt you read the screen?
I would design it to lock out for 24 hours. Next mistake, 48, and so on. There was a game in the late 90's, PC puzzle game that had punishing rewards like that. I hated that game so much, but yeah, i got back innit when the mistake timer ran out, tried again. One particularly difficult one set me back almost a whole working week.
So good. You should be immensely proud of the content you’re putting out. Incredible stuff.
The best part is when the bomb activates like lets be honest it could have blown up if not solved like 20 grand will buy alot lol
i love the time and effort he puts into his videos even just for the intro
The way to tell a puzzle is good is usually pretty simple. Solve it once without knowing the solution, put it back together and try and solve it a second time. If its dramatically faster the second time compared to the first time its a good puzzle. A good puzzle shouldn't be hard to execute it should be hard to figure out.
I like that
I like how you paraphrased my comment in your breakdown video.
Keep up the good work, and I hope you are healthy and safe.
Man hes got so many great places to hide his weed now.
And you know the cops aren't smart enough to do the puzzle to find it.
They're going to break everything
Sad but true
@@sisyphus883 your mother isn't either
Weed is legal in Canada. He doesn't have to hide it.
@@rotgertesla It's legal here in the US too depending on where you live...here in Massachusetts it's been made completely legal to have and consume within your own home, up to a certain quantity I think. It's still not technically legal at the federal level but they can't really regulate that for civilians and most states don't care so you really won't get in any trouble for small amounts depending on the state you're in...
That was an amazing experience for me to watch. I was in edge the whole entire time. Now I can eat and sleep. Thank you Chris. I love your channel.
This is the one of the greatest lead ups I’ve ever seen
I was actually feeling the tension of the puzzle and then it just ended! Dude if I paid 20k for a puzzle I would hope it would be more than that.
Chris: There are five lights.
Star Trek fans: There are four lights!
That was a nice reference, I'm not sure how many people will get it though
@@xyzabc198 most star trek fans will remember when Picard was tortured. That was pretty iconic.
Does it matter anymore? I hear they managed to break Picard.

This was great! I come and go once in a while as far as your channel goes and the amount of effort both you and the puzzle makers go through is insane. Other than collecting board games, collecting puzzles like these are now another life goal of mine! Just imagine one day a room with cool lighting, board games, puzzles, and displate metal posters ;D (Check displate out not promoting but they have cool stuff for decor haha)
