Molly, I LOVE your channel and have followed you for 4 years now..don’t talk much but like everything😁
I started painting in late 2019 and I finally found a medium that not only could I use all the wonderful colors I loved from my stained glass days, but allowed me, the non painter who can’t draw AT ALL, a way to paint and love it! I finally gathered the courage to try showing my art and Covid hit shutting down the places I was going to try. In 2021, a local juried art festival called Colorscape in upstate NY that has over 100 artists every year, accepted me and as a 70 yr old newbie, so I gave it a try. Like you, I was flabbergasted that people wanted to buy my art! But even more fun was talking to all those interested in what I used and how I made everything!..The following year I went again after going through a few changes to display etc but again enjoyed it and had a good show! Last year, 2023, my daughter and I were unavoidably late getting to the second day so opened up late and at the end of the show I saw the director coming towards me and I thought..oh no..she is upset that we were late ( I never see her during the show), but instead she walked into my tent and presented me with a second place ribbon for my category and a very nice check !! I had to sit down! Absolutely blew me away! You are so right when you say you just never know who will like what you make and when..Don’t give up and most of all just enjoy the process!! Oh.. also..it’s never too late to try something new😉

Molly this has really really helped me. All the art and furniture I have made over the years I’ve always thought was never good enough to sell. So I’ve always given it away. My oldest son (35) tells me all the time, “Mommy you need to start selling your stuff so you can at least ways recoup your money spent.” I was invited to do 2 shows. Literally 2 weeks apart. The first one is only one day for 4 hours but the second is for 2 days 10 hours a day. I was scared for my youngest son (12) to see me fail. My husband and son kept telling me, “You never fail if you give it your all!” The words of wisdom in this video has truly helped me! More than you actually know! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Molly, I when I saw how long this video was, I was hesitant to watch it! But, it is well worth the hour it took to watch! I loved your explanations on how to set things up! I think you were very responsible gently reminding us about sales tax and business licenses! How exciting to see you get interviewed for local news! Your Smart Art courses are definitely on my Christmas list!

I found this really helpful. I’ve done many indoor shows but am thinking about adding some outdoor Farmers Markets. Also, I’d love it if you could do a video showing how you do your matted pieces. I think that’s a great idea, since it’s so sad to toss a whole piece when part of it is amazing!

What a great video and such a wealth of information! I did shows for several years 15 years ago when I was doing stained glass. I did decorative soldering and matted and framed a lot of my pieces. I wish I had thought about renting a tent and a van! That would have saved me so much time and so much work. I love the bags you make for your artwork. That's a great idea. Where do you purchase that special bubble wrap? It's such a safe way to keep pieces in your studio and a great way to transport your art. I know how much work it is to get ready for a show, pack your car, put up your tent, unload your car, hang your work, etc. It is EXHAUSTING!! How fortunate that your husband is so supportive and helps you with everything. At 83, I'm really not up to doing shows anymore. I have an Etsy shop but I didn't keep up with it and I think they closed it. I was making resin pieces at the time. I'm thinking about putting some of my paintings up on my shop but don't know what to do about shipping them. Anyway, you've brought back a lot of memories for me and it was fun listening to you and how excited you get. I think you are such an awesome person, Molly.

I have been a full time artist since 13 but have been doing shows around the country for decades. You did a really good explanation of commitment to show work. It’s not easy and lots think I’m on vacation the whole time, lol. It is lots of work but can be enjoyable too.

Molly, thank you so much for taking me along with you on your art journey. 2019 was the first time I got a smartphone that came with RUclips, all of this was brand new to me. Then one day talking on the phone to my daughter Cierra Raine, she could tell I was a bit overwhelmed. She told me about the search bar 🔍 and told me to type in Molly's Artistry and thank her later. Molly you were the very first artist & channel that I subscribed to. I have watched every single video you have posted including the ones before I subscribed. It has been so fun and inspiring watching you grow into the artist you are meant to be. The art show I go to each year is in Memphis, Tennessee, Cooper Young Festival one day only of 100's++ of different artist and different genres 3 live band stages food & drinks galore including alcohol. It's feels more like a huge block party! I have a couple videos on my channel of 2023 Cooper Young Festival. This was a great informative video Molly. May you continue to be Abundantly Blessed 🥰💜😘💕

Wow, Molly, this video is so appreciated. Thank you for sharing with us so many aspects of the working on the Arti Gra booth a year after year and invested the time to create this video for us. This video actually came in a time when I almost completely given up hope on selling any of my artwork at all. I've been pouring for a year and a half and haven't made any progress with the sales side of the trade, so your words kind of made me think about all you said, I really hope to succeed, it is very discouraging to make all the work, invest money and not get anything financially in return. Thank you for the pep talk and happy painting!

Molly, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate this vid. I probably have at least 120 canvases boxed up in my home and quite honestly didn't know where to begin to sell my work. I love the pouring process, not so hip on the selling process. This video was very helpful. I saved this for future reference just in case I find myself going down this path. You are a constant source of inspiration and I appreciate you to much... Thank you!

Excellent video for people starting out!! What was missing was the financial breakdown. Artist seem to be hesitant to put that information out there. For people starting a business I believe it is important to share the financial information for the 1st show to where you are today. This sets realistic goals when you are 1st starting. Numbers are numbers and a part of business . And are often laden with fear in the beginning. I have also seen many artist over the years down grade there art with pricing to low. It is not good for them or other artists. In the beginning your prices will be lower but not cheap. Reputation , as you get more well known is when prices go up. Over the years I have had the pleasure of watching emerging art grow into very well known artist who make a very comfortable artists living . The fluid art world is something very new to me. I have been enjoying watching all of you on RUclips .💖💖💖💖

This is such a great video, with so much valuable information. I’ve only done 1 show so far and it was a complete flop. There were literally 50 or less people in attendance over 1.5 days. I didn’t sell anything to any of those people, but sold 4 pieces to other vendors. My goal was to learn and anything beyond that was a bonus. Knowing my art is hanging in the homes of people I do not know is such an overwhelming feeling.

Molly, I appreciate you, too! Your paintings are so inspirational to me. They brought me back to life, after cancer surgery, and I started doing my own paintings. Really, I am healthy cancer-free and painting and watching you paint has been a big part of that. So thank you! I would love to see how you finish off paintings. I notice that you have wood frames around most of your paintings that you sell. Do you have someone do that or do you do that? Either way how do you get it looking so good? Then, how do you determine your pricing? I would think it would be cost of materials, time and size.. The basics but then how do you determine what you think can get the most money. Thank you for considering this and all of the many wonderful things you do for this industry! Love you!

I just want to say that this video couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I went to an art show recently and came away thinking “What on earth made me think I could paint?” All of the artist there did either photography or realistic paintings. When I thought about my abstract art, I didn’t feel like it measured up. I love it so much, and the people I’ve shown it to seem to love it as well, but so much doubt entered my mind. You’re such a talented artist and it’s so good to hear about your experiences. You’ve made me feel so much better and that maybe I can step out a little more with my own art. Thank you so much for always being so supportive and down to earth. I love watching your videos. You and Olga were the first people I got addicted to watching and while there are a lot of other people I follow now, you are still my favorite ❤️. Love you and hope to be able to see you at one of your shows one day!

As someone who spent the majority of my life selling at countless “craft shows” with my Mom selling everything from handmade (cabbage patch style) doll babies to handmade pocketbooks, I swore I’d NEVER do shows as an adult! At 16yrs old, I remember disliking them so much bc while all my friends were in bikinis at the beach, I was dressed like Laura Ingles, sweating my bloomers off, selling baby dolls!😂 While they were filming the original Firestarter movie in our town, I actually sold one of our dolls to Drew Barrymore. Point being: as hard as shows may be, I personally have the BEST memories from every one I’ve ever done and have a whole new love for them now as a Fluid Artist! Thank you so much for sharing so many great tips Molly!! Much Love!🤗💕**Oh quick question: Do you get people that want to “make you an offer” on your pieces and if so, how do you handle that situation?

Thanks for all of the great information, Molly! So informative and the tips are so helpful! If you do any additional video on the process, I think it would be helpful to all creators that want to sell their products on how to price things out, from the magnets to the paintings! It seems to be a NASA formula 😂 that I am challenged at times in cracking the code! You are the sweetest and I enjoy watching you create! Hugs!

Hi Molly, I have been a fan since 2019 and absolutely love your art and you for being you! You are one of my top YT teachers and I am so grateful to you for sharing your knowledge of this incredible art form. I do local pop ups and recently signed up to do one of the largest fairs in my area. I'm very excited to have this opportunity. Your video was very timely and informative. I appreciate you for taking the time to coordinate the presentation with as many tips and tricks as you've offered here. This was great! Thanks again!!!

Hi Molly, I always watch your videos and I’am amazed at how relaxed and in your element in each one of them. I just watched the Art Festival Tips & Tricks and it’s super informative. Thank you for that. I have 2 questions: 1) do Fair attendants ask you how you do your paintings, and 2) do you have business cards with your information including your social media connections, and you find helpful to be connected. If yes which it’s been the most rewarding for you. Keep doing your beautiful paintings. Happy painting!!

I purchased one of your smaller pieces and Love it, of course! Thanks for all you do!❤❤

Thank you, Molly. I did shows for many years in the 80's and nineties at Christmastime selling stained glass. I did very well until it wasn't popular any longer. I loved it. You are correct about needing someone to help you. I loved the socializing. I loved meeting other artists. I just watched your tips and tricks because you are just so much fun to watch!

Crikey Molly - this was amazing :) And I have to say I hadnt noticed that your subscribers had grown so much - i nearly fell off my chair when the interviewer pointed out you had gone from 3k to 900k in just five years!!! Do you really put that down to the shows?? Personally, I have loved your work/videos back from close to when you started on youtube and I will never be unsubscribed from you because you are totally freakin' awesome! I am stoked for you that you are so popular on RUclips - it must make all the hard work you do so worthwhile. :) xxx

What a great video! Thanks for taking the time to do it. I have done vendor events before, & learned they aren’t for me. I love the social aspect, & have sold some of my pieces. Yet, the set up & breakdown is too much for me at this point in my life. & the heat in Florida was brutal 😂😂 maybe if I was 10-15 years younger? I will just continue to paint, sell a couple here & there, donate some to local charities for fundraiser events. Can’t stop painting, it’s my therapy!!

Thanks for this!!! I do a local university art festival. I have done it for three years! Getting better at some aspects of setting up, some things don't work! The jury process is a scary aspect, but satisfying when you are accepted! My biggest problem is using a wall. They moved the show into a city park. And I swear I'm in a wind tunnel!! It is difficult to keep my canvases on the wall. They want to blow off!!! My husband and I have been brainstorming on making it more stable!!! So thank you for your video!! Very helpful and has given me some good ideas!!!!
