Catholics aka the Vatican is the biggest evil plague that was and still is destroying Europe and some other parts of the world ever since it exist "in the name of God". Not any different then other selfproclaimed religions and sects who have more extremest separatism going on then anything even remotely about religion or God itself etc. You can see lots of that thematic in Twisted Metal and God of War. @minmogrovingstrongandhealthy Didn't Jaffe base Sweet Tooth/Needles Kane on John Wayne Gacy? Last time I checked, Jaffe might be an oddball but he's not a serial killer. If anything, it would make him the non-serial-killer side of the coin, Marcus Kane.

I do enjoy the whole "letter from beyond the grave" thing they did with Harbor City in the console Head-On port, at the time it felt pretty eerie and fit in with Black's whole atmospheric shift. With that said, I do think Harbor City would have gotten a coat of darkness added in to it if it faced proper release, I'm guessing all that polishing stuff and making it look good is one of the finishing touches to any game. I'm not sure though how I feel about the whole running around sections as Sweet Tooth, it feels stapled on and unnecessary. You might have mentioned this previously, but they tried to make a few versions of the series to get approved over the years: one was post apocalyptic FallOut 3 style, another a 'midnight club' street racing version of the game. Glad the second didn't get approved as it's never been about racing, which is precisely why I like it haha, but I would have liked to see the first one. Nice to see Harbor's finally been unlocked, though.
The part "not many people know" is because the old fanbase moved away from gaming, WE KNOW but we just don't care anymore. I mean sure it's still interesting to me however the franchise and modern gaming market is dead so there is zero reason of me going out of my comfort zone and start a conversation about this with anyone when we already talked about it decades ago. We had Head On and Harbor Town etc playable builds its just they are deleted, they were unfinished so we moved on. Kids or younger gen who missed out might find it interesting but then again its not like we can bring this back and revive gaming as it should be. Every time we tried we got copyright strike or a notice that we will be sued if we continue to work on things or distribute things that are basically someone elses property. Even Jaffe said why would you bother to make another Twisted Metal game or dig around old data instead just make something new. 1 you will get sued 2 you will be shut down 3 all that time and effort could be used for something better 4 if you think you will be hired to do another TM game then know that wont happen, the chances of that happening is one in a billion
My thoughts of this canceled game. Well I like the whole "Dead developers" story since it's tied to TM:Lost on a morbid vibe, along Incognito/Eat Sleep Play probably couldn't just come out and say Sony wanted it to be just like GTA. The on foot missions would have been a very controversial idea for the series. But I would love to try it out & if i didn't like it, Story mode is still available to play. (Just like how i'm not a fan of GM Mode & My Faction on WWE2K). As for Head-on getting little to no attention upon release, i blame it on Sony Marketing team. Because i knew of the game getting released for the PSP. but i did not once see a commercial for Head-on. The only little attention it got was a few seconds on a generic PSP commercial. Sadly this isn't the only time, since they didn't advertise Extra Twisted as much. 2012 got some attention but slowly ignore over time.
This was like "driver syndrome". I remember GTA competing with Driver at the time and one of their easter eggs took shots at driver even. I think they were making that comparison at the time once again, taking TM away from us
thats cool, im not a huge fan of twisted metal but i remember when primal rage 2 got working emulation and i thought that was the coolest shit ever so i am happy for the fans.
Just as it has pushed gaming, GTA has hurt gaming as well. GTA has caused the amount of arcade/street racers and vehicular combat games to diminish greatly. Its not just Twisted Metal, but when Ace Combat 7 was coming out you could see normies going "why play this when you can fly jets in GTA V?"
Twisted Metal Harbor City looks a lot like the game of a different studio that came out called Road Kill on the OG Xbox. I really liked that game and being able to traverse the big open city map. I'm sure I would have liked Harbor City too. I remember Roadkill also had a radio like GTA did. It was awesome.
I'm still surprised you never heard of Head On during it's relevancy. I was a huge PSP fan. Going as far as importing mine from Japan months before the US release. When I heard David Jaffer was working on a new twisted metal for PSP, I was excited. And damn the game was great. Twisted 2 was my favorite in the series and head on really brought me back home. Now what I did not know was that Head On was basically this game, rehashed!
It's the fans and the videos like these that generate interest and make real impact in the industry. Hopefully Sony will greenlight another entry into the series, and these kinds of videos only help the cause.
The brighter colors might be a result of the leak fix. You might want to reach out to the port guys, or maybe see if you can croudfund to get a devkit and double check yourself?
TM Black 2 could’ve been the most ambitious TM game to date, open world with a mission structure mixed with combat encounters would be very interesting to see executed in the TM formula. Same thing with the canceled Live Service TM game that never entered development but was announced, TM is dead sadly. However that doesn’t mean we as the fans can create our own car combat game.
I thought that the code for that game was definitely lost, but I do want to see that game. Ho its in internet archive, we definitely need to support pages like that and also to make our own archive in case of a "black out".
Honestly I remember as a kid seeing TW Black and thinking it looked pretty dull, the changes made in Harbour City would have probably got me playing Twisted Metal again a lot sooner
This was me but only because the box art looked pretty basic. The M rating got my attention but I wasn't interested enough so It wasn't until later on that I played it and was like woah
Is there any knowledge on who dropped the builds, I can’t imagine Sony having multiple unfinished builds lying around for some current employee to find
No the original builds were all anonymously provided. MadAgus and Unmutual were the ones who made it the most recent version able to be played on emulation.
With us having access to the builds, does that mean that we also have access to the source code? And if so, does that mean that we could possibly port it to other systems?
I always say that Twisted Metal is one of the franchises Sony needs to bring back from the dead. I would be fine with them remastering the PS3 game but giving us many more storylines to complete and new battle arenas.
8:45 that's pretty cool though I mean someone went through a lot of work to do this actually I'm assuming more than just someone a lot of people but with the TV show getting bigger you would think they might go back to the old school way I forget why I didn't like the newest Twisted Metal I remember buying it being like hell yeah and then I was so disappointed but honestly I can't remember why

9:48 yeah but if they wanted a twisted metal GTA type game then make that a separate game that's the way I would think of it kind of like Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks
hate to say the devs were right about the post GTA world thing but they were. Twisted Metal 2012 flopped pretty hard. in fact most games these days tend to die off quick because they aren’t GTA even if they try to copy it (Halo Infinite anyone?) this is coming from someone that loves old school GTA but absolutely hates what it’s done to the gaming industry.

Stupid executives always getting in the way. I would have loved a Twisted Metal Black 2 game, and the large open levels are what I always wanted in a TM video game, going all the way to Cydonia in Twisted Metal 1. It sucks some of the best games we could have had were never released (Star Fox 2, Half Life Episode 3, many more).
This video is good but your commentary is strange, several times you raise extremely good points only to immediately turn around and contradict them?? Like saying that video games require a lot of money to make that your company doesn't want to just burn away making a potentially unprofitable product, only to immediately say "oh well release it anyways" simply because other studios have made worst games, what sense does that make?
My point there was CURRENTLY in 2024, you can’t just throw money away because of inflation, resources etc. during the time period Harbor City was being worked on, gaming was still niche and not as expansive as 2024 so releasing it would have made more sense considering how far they were into development. It’s all relative to the time period.
@@KingMandarin Vigilante 8 is great. I actually do prefer that over Twisted Metal. The first game, at least. 2nd Offense doesn't quite get as good but I wouldn't say ignore it.

1 you will get sued
2 you will be shut down
3 all that time and effort could be used for something better
4 if you think you will be hired to do another TM game then know that wont happen, the chances of that happening is one in a billion
I mean, I agree, just make something new and say it was inspired by Twisted Metal.
Man twisted metal black 2 could've reused all the same assets and just built on the story told from the last game and I would've eaten it up
If only they could bring back twisted metal and have online match making wars against other people, being able to build ur own car/war machine
This was like "driver syndrome". I remember GTA competing with Driver at the time and one of their easter eggs took shots at driver even. I think they were making that comparison at the time once again, taking TM away from us
Twisted Metal Herbert City would've been amazing, I also really really want to go on an Iowaska Trip with Sweet Tooth now.
Why did you narrate this like you want to fight everyone lol
You need to prepare yourself for any and all conflicts. The internet is a warzone
That's his style he bi*** I every video like a hateful teenager or a bitter ex girlfriend.
thats cool, im not a huge fan of twisted metal but i remember when primal rage 2 got working emulation and i thought that was the coolest shit ever so i am happy for the fans.
I have vaguely heard about that one, lost media is a wonderful thing.
I've been aware of this game since it was cancelled.
6:30 imagine having a twisted metal level the size of like the GTA world that would be insane
1:15 I forget which one was the last one but it did suck. Black was dope
5* games for the PS1
People tend to forget Small Brawl
I always rely like Head On played a lot like Black, and felt like it belonged in an earlier version of the Black universe.
It's the fans and the videos like these that generate interest and make real impact in the industry. Hopefully Sony will greenlight another entry into the series, and these kinds of videos only help the cause.
The first 7 minutes of this video is twisted metal history you probably already know, I will leave a timestamp if I do see any lost media
My mistake the first 8 minutes were filler
Homeboy this is whack, 8 and 1/2 minutes for you to tell me most the new gameplay is in your other video? To go watch it instead? Oh hell no
The brighter colors might be a result of the leak fix. You might want to reach out to the port guys, or maybe see if you can croudfund to get a devkit and double check yourself?
4:01 Boogie. 👀
Ah Twisted Metal. I played this one on ps1 it was fun
The M rating got my attention but I wasn't interested enough so It wasn't until later on that I played it and was like woah
a twisted metal battle Royale would go crazy
We need twisted metal with the wreckfest engine....maybe tighten up the controls
God bless you kong
08:37
That about sums it up
Honesty, I forgot this series even existed
😢
Is there any knowledge on who dropped the builds, I can’t imagine Sony having multiple unfinished builds lying around for some current employee to find
No the original builds were all anonymously provided. MadAgus and Unmutual were the ones who made it the most recent version able to be played on emulation.
Twisted Metal 2 World Tour was the best
i like twisted metal and interstate 76!
I’ve heard a lot about Interstate 76, but only played Vigilante 8.
I think it was like that: They making Black part 2. Came managers. Devekopers like : Do you want GTA we called it like GTA. And it became Harbour city
You should make a video on how to download this build of twisted metal Harbor city and emulated
Bring Back Twisted Metal and Burnout Series's
Imagine 100 Vs 100 Battle Royale
isn't me or is Sony saying "Time is Money" and speaking of Sony I played TM Harbor City I loved there's so many details in this Game Could be a lot better than TM Head on but is a shame got Canceled
I always thought that a twisted metal X rocket league hybrid could be interesting
13:12 right but that's GTA or Manhunt but Twisted Metal is a car game where you shoot other cars I mean nobody wants to be walking around as sweet tooth I don't think again if they do then make it a different game completely like I said before
There were 5 Twisted Metal games on PS1, btw. Not 4
I know there was, Small Brawl released after Black did. I was putting into perspective when the game released and people being excited for it a sequel.
9:48 yeah but if they wanted a twisted metal GTA type game then make that a separate game that's the way I would think of it kind of like Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks
TWISTED METAL
yo, where's a download link?
All the builds showcased are in the description
I want the Tomorrow Never Died PS1 beta 😢
Damn shame! Seems like it would have been a good game! I loved the twisted metal games when I was a kid 😊
Imagine asking calypso for a new twisted metal game and we get brain rot battle royal f2p
😲
Wow I wish had it them
Had David Jaffe said anything about all this? Or is he legally not allowed?
So how do i get my hands on this ps2 emulator works?
Wait till you hear about twisted metal small brawl
I already know what it is, I’ve spoken with one of the developers on it numerous times.
hate to say the devs were right about the post GTA world thing but they were. Twisted Metal 2012 flopped pretty hard. in fact most games these days tend to die off quick because they aren’t GTA even if they try to copy it (Halo Infinite anyone?)
this is coming from someone that loves old school GTA but absolutely hates what it’s done to the gaming industry.
Um you forgot about small brawl 🤓👆
I was creating a perspective of a twisted metal fan during the time period, most didn’t know the game existed and it released after black (which more people were focused on)
@@TheKongdoo I’m goofing, it was a great video. I haven’t played a game in years. It’s cool to see harbor city, I had no idea the beta had been out.
I myself realized small brawl existed years later.
This is simply amazing, although I would like you to upload a video or comment on the steps I need to install the game and with the mods because if I'm honest I'm not good with that c:
I'm interested in the interview u mentioned about twisted metal 3 and 4. where can I watch it ?
Take a peek in the live section on his channel. It’s four hours long of course.
@@GritterTheBuckethead oh thanks, i keep forgetting Live is it’s own tab.
are there any boss characters in TM Harbor city, I'm a Minion fan🤘
No there weren’t any developed here, the game just ended for me after level 3.
I would have loved to see how everything would turn out if Harbor City actually released
It's kinda crazy how no one is talking about this dated game no one has really played in 15 years. 🤓
It’s a pretty big moment In lost media so yes.
Bring it back and make it in the style of the first two. I'm tired of the "dark and edgy" era of games.
Twisted metal 1 and 2 were edgy look at those fmvs
I don't really mind, Black levels are so dark dull and boring. I prefer the World Tour aspect of 2 with different cities and feels.
Why do some people that do these narrated videos sound like a dying Kermit the frog...?
I can’t wait to hear you narrate your own
A lot of old good players died
What
Many pros og of this game lost to cancer.@@TheKongdoo
I’d be happy just for a remastered black version 🥲🥲
I love 4 what are yall talking bout!?!?
All maps connected would have made it a Battle Royale but better than Fortnite
What two copycat games are that at 0:56?
Vigilante 8 and Grudge Warriors
@@TheKongdoo thanks!
@@KingMandarin Vigilante 8 is great. I actually do prefer that over Twisted Metal.
The first game, at least. 2nd Offense doesn't quite get as good but I wouldn't say ignore it.
Vigilante 8 and vigilante 8 second offense were my jams!!!!
there are five titles on ps1 not four. small brawl
vigilante 8 was better,
Rogue trip was better
No it’s not
4:46 lol yeah okay if it was just as good as black basically different cars different stages the game would have sold come on especially with the right promotion team you know like commercial shit like that. I bet a lot of people here don't know that there is a Mortal Kombat mobile that game is freaking awesome . If it was promoted properly I think a lot more people would be on it but unfortunately that's not the case. I'm also not talking about Mortal Kombat Onslaught that game sucks the game is called MK mobile Mortal Kombat mobile not onslaught
