Hi Destiny - I love this series. I feel that you are doing an amazing job. Putting yourself out there is so difficult for us introverts. I am 64 years old and still have to talk myself up to do certain things. In a recent year, I bought concert tickets to a person that my husband and I both love, but we live in a teeny tiny town. Literally zero traffic and everyone knows each other. The concert was in San Francisco, 5 hours away. Both my husband and I very nearly talked ourselves out of going. We were so nervous about driving/parking/interacting with people in a big city. We had to talk each other up and tell ourselves that at any point, if we wanted to turn around and go home, we would. Long story short - the show was fabulous and we were both so happy we did it. Baby steps, and keep trying. Take care -

I just moved to a new city two weeks ago by myself - I don't know a SINGLE person here. I was so scared and my heart has been aching for comfort and familiarity and I can relate so much to everything in these moving vlogs. I've been pushing myself to do the same things (going places by myself, meeting new people, etc.) and it is so scary. It's been so comforting to sit down and watch someone going through the same thing as me. It's made me feel less alone, so thank you for being vulnerable and sharing this journey with us!!

Something that has really helped me with feeling uncomfortable in new places and worrying about what people think of me is this. How often are you looking at others and judging them and thinking about what they’re doing?….. like never! Then I realized that that’s the same for everyone else, they don’t care about me or what I’m doing because they’re more worried about themselves. Realizing that nobody is thinking or worrying about me was really freeing.

the anxiety that comes with hanging out with people is SO real and so normal but it’ll get better over time! This series is so comforting bc I’ve also moved out on my own in Austin and even though i’ve been here for years for school, it feels like I’m starting all over again. You got this Destiny and hopefully I’ll run into you at some point at a bookstore or coffee shop :)

Destiny! You are 100% not alone. I get so nervous talking to people, even if I know them. Especially when I talk about myself. Going to places alone and talking to new people is nerve wracking! I asked a guy if I could pet his dog, he said yes! I was so excited and nervous I ended up walking away, thanking him, without ever petting his dog. I still think about that interaction a week later.

Hi girly! Honestly you sound to have many neurodivergent traits that point to ADHD/Autism. I recently at 25 got evaluated and diagnosed because of the EXACT same traits. Thinking over every detail of conversation with people, getting overwhelmed and overstimulated, anxiousness, etc. sadly I feel there is still such a stereotype on what autism looks like when in reality it’s a spectrum and people that look “normal” are starting to get diagnosed & the help they need. Just wanted to bring awareness to you ❤️

Best thing I did this year was joining my local chapter of Silent Book Club. I've made so many friends since joining and I wish I'd known about it sooner. I can't stop telling everyone to join their local chapters. I've always been shy and even though I've lived in my city for almost 14 years, I never had friends to go do things with. It was so nice to go to SBC and feel comfortable around other people who just wanted to read and talk about books. I thought it would be scary or daunting and was nervous the whole ride but now I can't imagine my life without the book club or the new friends I've made. If you keep branching out, I can't recommend Silent Book Club enough to make friends who are also bookish and like reading as much as you! You're doing so good getting comfortable in your new city and I'm really proud of you!!

When I moved out on my own at 23 I was still in my home town and I still had too much anxiety to leave my apartment for two weeks :') its a really big deal, esp with anxiety and such. good on ya Lady!! Girl! Same, same, same. I love being by myself, but doing new things by myself is so stressful. I'll risk providing advice that you didn't ask for...go to these places with your BF or friends first. That removes a lot of the unknown. Check out menus before you go so you can decide what to eat or drink before you get there. Remove as much stress as you can. You're capable of doing hard things. Keep pushing yourself while also accepting love/support in your comfort zone.

Destiny, I watch every single one of your videos and you are such an amazing role model! This series specifically has been SO comforting because I’m about to leave for college. How you voice the anxiety that comes with leaving home is so relatable and truly brings me comfort. Ilysm and you’re amazing ❤❤❤❤

I love your moving diaries! 🤍🤍 I’m so proud of how you’re doing during this move 😘 but I actually have a book question: what are your top 3 fave books (preferably standalone books) I’m asking my fave booktubers for their top books so I can add them to my TBR 🤍🤍🤍
