  • How can you tell the difference between the deal of a lifetime and a property scam?
We all know how to spot an email scam: we know we shouldn’t send thousands of pounds to a Nigerian Prince or mystery attorney, no matter how tempting the riches on offer.
But when it comes to property, it’s not that easy: because you’re often dealing with seemingly reputable lawyers and developers, who make everything feel safe, and there are only subtle differences between a deal to grab with both hands and one to run a mile from
So how can you actually spot a property scam and avoid wasting thousands of pounds on a nightmare deal?

    Thanks for the excellent content.
We lost 50% of the value of a flat the same way. There was already a building next door 80% finished when we bought into the 2nd property. Everything was going to plan with photo updates etc. On the day of settlement our final 50% payment was transferred from our solicitor’s account to the developer’s solicitor’s account … then we received an email to satisfy they had gone into administration. We quickly contacted our solicitor who managed to get our 2nd 50% payment back. 5 years later and none of the apartment buyers are getting anything & many of the tradesmen are out of pocket.
