Raptorus77 - the joints will be fine and still work as long as you apply thin coats and seal it properly. Of course, I wouldn't recommend giving this to a 5 year-old to play with in the sandbox outside. This is really meant for display.
There's a Glen Webb video where he says to move the joint around and see if there's any paint rub. If there is than repaint it with a thinner coat a d double check it again.

Shea Parker - any kind of acrylic surface primer will do. Just make sure it's acrylic-base primer - it won't cause the soft parts to be tacky. You can't use spray enamel on the soft plastic/rubber parts. It'll be fine on any hard plastic dinos, or gaming minis, but most of the Mattel dinos are a mix of the two materials.

Antoniozilla well at least you can do it again by priming it and starting over again, as long as the sculpt is ok you'll do fine.
