Great review Tim and good idea to do the comparison. Yeah I love the Lore, probably my favourite of the core range but absolutely ridiculous price tag which makes no sense. Glad you like it as well but I'm with you on that it's not worth it. Cheers!
Very timely review for me. The Laphroaig select was on sale a few months ago and tried my first Laphroaig. I enjoyed it, the minerality agrees with me. The Lore is on sale from $225 cdn to $140 which brought me to this video. I think the quarter cask is on sale from around $90 to close to $70? Perhaps my next step is the quarter cask.
Great review Tim! I really like the Lore though it is definitely overpriced. I’ll have to do a side by side with Sanaig to see which one I prefer. For me, I think all the 48% Laphroaigs benefit from the addition of a little water. It tends to turn up the peaty notes on the palate for me.
Really enjoy the lore, but to echo everyone else. That price point is steep, I drink mine as a special occasion whisky. When price is factored in, I’d much rather have the QC, 10 year CS or the 10 year Sherry Oak. All much more value for money.
I really like the Quarter Cask and would probably choose that over the Lore on price alone. I did find Lore for about $100 USD at one point but it is definitely overpriced.

Thanks! Totally agree.
Good comparison review of the quarter cask to the lore🥃
Thanks! 👍

Very good values on both. Enjoy!

It's always worth experimenting with the water. Cheers!
Nice review.
Quite pricy in the US, here in Europe it's between 65€ and 85€, which is acceptable I'd say.
Nice. That's a lot closer to what I think it's worth.

That 10 Year CS, with the age statement and abv, coming in at a lower price really puts it in perspective ...
For the money, the Ardbeg Ten or the CB Peat Monster are as good at half the price.
100%, Ardbeg Ten remains a great value. Cheers!
119 here in Chicagoland - slightly overpriced - better than Sanaig
Unfortunately, that's a pretty good price.

That's a lot more reasonable ...
Far superior to the Quarter Cask but at $205 Canadian before taxes I drink this beauty sparingly!
It's a lot of money for this. Enjoy it!
