    Wow, so this is who bought this house. I saw this house, in person, when it was for sale around 2015. I went to a showing of it. At the showing I was at, someone actually walked through a huge window, breaking the window and injuring themselves.
    Although what she says is true, it was in total disarray, it was still absolutely stunning and full of potential. She restored it perfectly. And yes, at the showing, you could hear others at the open house talking about changing the home with this and that. It’s lucky that it received the buyer that it did.
    The view is breathtaking it goes West of the Hollywood sign, all the way East of Los Angeles, into Glendale. This is my absolute dream house. Even after its purchase, I would occasionally drive by the house to check it out and day dream about buying a home like that myself some day. Great job restoring it perfectly. Enjoy your home.

    Yet again giving me goosebumps. That transition from the origins of the home through to its current family mode was really nice, particularly the owner connecting back to the architect's family. To me these homes disprove the idea that modernism is detached from humanity.

    I grew up in the Los Feliz/Silverlake area, my family having first moved there in the ‘30s. I’ve known many great architectural homes and later specialized in the sale of them. It’s been a mission to preserve and honor such legacy houses. How beautifully presented with such obvious love and respect.

    Los Angeles' midcentury homes are truly special... my grandparents have a house which was remodeled in this era, and I see some similarities... the view from this house, though, is truly spectacular and i love that the windows were designed for the view. it's like the house is floating in the air. really magical feeling.

    Steep lots are both spectacular and bad at the same time. A birds eye view is rare and thrilling and provides privacy. I love to garden so I understand the advantage of a fairly flat piece of ground, which I have. Also, you can easily host large events, which I don't do. Still, all things being equal, I would go for a cantilever house if I had the chance. It has the WOW factor.😊😊😊😊❤❤❤

    ugh - best channel ever. I've watched every video numerous times. This is super - love it. Those stairs are quite extraordinary especially during a rain but hey, at least you're always going to be in shape! :). Me, I'd never leave - it's a forever home. I would wonder though if I would need to install an elevator or something someday to get me from the car to the front door. I cannot imagine being in my 80s many many years from now and traipsing up the stairs. oy - my knees! I'm soooooo glad you saved the house from being turned into a remodel - another white and grey monstrosity - you did good.

    As a Swede I'm astounded by the open design handrail on the deck that sits so far above ground. Are you allowed to build like this in the US? Would be terrified to have children and pets there. Cool house and views though

    • @celebutante
      @celebutante 5 месяцев назад

      Definitely not. But the only ways that would get enforced would be if the place was re-sold, or homeowner's insurance inspected. I definitely ran into that with homeowner's policy on my place - they made me add rails and do some modifications.
