I'm a Hodgkin's Lymphoma survivor. I had HL in 2001-2002.
I was 35 at the time. I had stage 2b. I was exhausted and running crazy fevers. After lots of testing and then finally going into the hospital, I was diagnosed. I'm going to be 58 the end of the year. I was always told I had the "good" cancer, there was nothing good about the treatments. They gave me a number of 12 rounds, by the the time I wa due to have my 12th round, I was so so sick. My oncologist told my husband if she has anymore chemo she'll die. I did everything in my power to try to get that last treatment. I thought now having it would kill me but in fact NOT having it, saved my life.
My immune system has never been right after having this cancer. If I get sick, it's never a simple cold, it's always bigger illnesses and a terrible battle to get better.
