Most Lego games are fun but this one is the best by a significant margin. Good story, good use of controls, lots of great Lego theme and classic detective film and tv references.
I like batman 2 and marvel superheros as much as the next person but DANG no game has this much jam-packed into one. Giant open world. A thought through story (that even has a prequel game) great level design. Tons of charm and every form of transport including f***ing trains. (Even a lego set that's damn good to go with it)
I still play the game it brings me to tears how good the game is, it’s my favorite Lego game ever. 110% needs a sequel. T T games get off you’re asses and make it already
I love this game. I love the idea of a sequel. I love the idea of the sequel being called "lego city undercover: double agent" I hate the fact that I can't come up with much more than that for a sequel. This game absolutely deserves more.
My kids and I still replay this once every year or so, its that good. It might not have won game of the year awards, but its just plain fun, as there are so many things to do and places to explore. Probably one of my top 10 all time. Have been hoping for a sequel for years.
Honestly? I absolutely loved the combat in this game. Certainly better than one hitting an enemy and breaking them into pieces like in other LEGO games. Wish they used this type of combat much more.
This game was the goat, i always used to watch the same lego city undercover gameplay, they have to make a sequel, but i do t want it to end like mega mind and its sequel
I literally LOLd at the "I knew I had to go to a place where no RUclipsr had ever gone before" joke LMAOOOOOOO. Good video, I haven't played a Lego game since Lego Star Wars back on the GC and it's cool to know they did a good job with something original!
I'm just hoping now that Skywalker Saga is out now that MAYBE they're somewhat considering revisiting this series. From what I heard, the devs spent 5 years working on that game so I imagine maybe at least some of them want to stray away from licensed products for a good while. Even though it's been almost ten years since LCU first came out, I still have hope we'll get a continuation. I'm sure some of the devs do want to further expand the world. If they didn't want to then they wouldn't have teased it. Maybe they're just waiting for the right time. Sequels can sometimes take many years to make. Red Dead Redemption waited 8 years for another entry. Luigi's Mansion didn't have another game for 12 years before Dark Moon came out. The same thing applies to movies like The Incredibles which took 14 years to make the second movie, and even more recently with Avatar finally getting another entry after 13 years. Honestly, I would prefer for them to take their time rather than rush it. Whatever future is in store for the Undercover series I do hope its legacy will forever be good and more people will come to appreciate it over time at the very least:)
@@JeffCompass Thank you very much for your reply! This is one of my favorite video games so its nice seeing other people who see the potential this series could bring!
I see the potential and this as well I remember my first play through of this game I found the game from a RUclips video when I was 8 I have never really been a fan of Nintendo but I liked the videos of the game so much that on Christmas 2014 I got a Wii U just to play Lego city undercover and I loved it I still do to this day it has a special place in my childhood and heart
Yes! Only on 3DS where Chase was shipped off at the end by Dunby. Then he comes back 2 years later (Lego universe time) and helps put Rex Fury back in prison!
This game was the only reason I got a Wii U. I also played The Lego Movie, Lego The Hobbit, and Lego Jurassic World on Wii U, but I probably would have passed those up were it not for City Undercover. TT did such a great job at making a funny, fun, original story and game. They ought to do more, even if they are not Lego City. Maybe one based on original Lego space themes?
I remember the 3DS version, we didn’t even get the downtown area lol. I say it needs another entry either way the pre and sequel both were loads of fun.
The Wii U Version of LEGO City Undercover is indeed the sequel of the 3DS version, but it should be noted that they released at virtually the same time. They were successors of each other from the start
The devs of the game all said in interviews that this game was by far their favourite project to work on, as they actually had the creative freedom to create characters, a storyline and other content which wouldnt normally be allowed when working with an IP such as Starwars. Its a shame there wasnt any other projects like this made after LCU
Just stumbled across this video, and have discovered an underrated RUclipsr. Love the editing, delivery of your words, jokes, and it’ll only get better. Great Vid 🔥
Played this game on both Wii U and switch. I’m replaying the game now on Wii U and because of the cool way this game uses the gamepad it will always be my definitive version of this game. Maybe one day in the future we will see a Lego city undercover 2 or 3 not sure if the 3ds game counts as 2. Also enjoying the channel so far great job dude there’s only one other RUclipsr who makes game analysis videos the way I like it with humor and facts like you do and that is Scott the Woz. I can already say that you are right on par with him in that respect. Keep up the great work
Man, I LOVE this game and it seems a lot of other people have enjoyed it too. I never really seen anyone straight up hating it (aside from those horrid load times). I'm wondering if LCU got dropped due to Lego City Adventures. Heck, even that series' main cop character has a name similar to Chase's (Duke Detain).
I always found it nice to have a one and done game, for me it makes the game that much more special and stands out more knowing that it's just the one game.
I've only played lego batman, lego city undercover, and lego the incredibles. Lego city undercover is definitely my favorite lego game. I ended up buying it last year but didn't actually play it till earlier this year. I would love a sequel. I hope that rumored lego racing game turns out to be real since I love kart racers.
This was the first ever game I played on my Xbox 1, Found it randomly at a Cosco and my 10ish year old brain thought "Oh look, lego and police, that looks fun." I had no idea what a masterpiece it was. Years and years later I still revisit it every once and a while and all of my younger and older siblings have had their turn with it. Hands down best lego game by far, and this is coming from a person who has played all the star-wars games, harry potter, lego movie, and indiana jones lego remakes.
When i was a kid me and my dad went to GameStop to look at games and this was the game we got and we got it on ps4 and i played it for hours and hours while replaying many times and exploring everything including finding out where i could “live” (a little area with parkour stuff) and its still one of my favorite games to this day Edit: i think it was a free run for my base
Really nice video! I have been writing a script for a (Kinda?) video documentary about this game, I have been piking it up and laying it down so it would probably come out when GTA 6 and Lego city undercover 2 come out.
LEGO City Undercover is one of my favorite games, there's just something about it. One of those is that it's an original story and characters, so there were no expectations, since nothing was based on a known license where we kind of know what to expect with those. There was ONE pseudo-sequel though, as part of LEGO Dimensions. There was a LEGO City Undercover pack that added a mini-world to explore and new character dialogue.
I remembered this game earlier today and wanted to play it again so I bought it for the PC. I decided to look up some videos for it and then I see your channel name in the video list LMAO Good video buddy keep it up, and thanks for the nice surprise. :)
"arresting people stealing vehicles" "then becoming a hypocrite and stealing vehicles yourself" Playing Watch Dogs on my Wii U right now. That wholely describes Watch Dogs.
I got this game for my Switch a while back, tbh I only got it because I loved SW: The Complete Saga on my Wii and wanted something similar on my Switch, and also because I knew there were several blatant Mario references in it like a flagpole, bob-ombs, bullet bills, warp pipes with Piranha Plants, and stuff. Started playing it and was enjoying it but didn't get very far because I had other games I wanted to play first. Still have to get around to it someday.
I just bought it on sale for 5$ and it’s really fun I just wish it wasn’t a port, it looks so blurry and some of the dialogue is really cringy especially for a Lego game. I wish they would add like a wanted level when ur not in a police uniform or sort so it truly can be a Lego gta. But overall I’m having such a blast and don’t wanna put it down
This is my favorite Lego game. The funny thing is, I came across this game on complete random. I had no idea what it was about or if it was gonna be fun. But it's the cover that caught my eye. I looked the game up and saw what it was about. Plus, I was kinda itching for a lego city game. I loved this game from when I first few minutes started playing it. The music in this game is pretty freaking good too! I want a Lego City Undercover 2 so bad that I'm thinking about making a fan made one. If I actually do, don't expect it to be that good. But if TTFusion won't make a second Lego City Undercover game for whatever reason, someone has to do it.
What I find weird about the switch remake is that it doesn't have the lady liberty Mario Hat red brick, and the other versions didn't have a hat to replace it for some reason. I do like the fact that some of the Nintendo Easter Eggs are still in the non Nintendo versions of the game, like the number on the back of the Cherry Tree Hills Train Station where it reads out 1985 as a clear reference to Mario. Oh and I think the Wii U Loading Screen looks way better because on the Gamepad it ACTUALLY SHOWS YOU THE PROGRESS BAR oh and for me it took under 30 seconds to load the main map lol. This game will always be my favourite LEGO Game and it's in my top 5 favourite games ever, the Soundtrack as well is excellent it sucks that they never sold the OST :/
I remember when I first got this game with my WII U in 2013 and it was one of my favorite games then in 2020 I played the remaster on Xbox and to this day I’m still playing it

Other then that i absolutely love this game!
I think the BLM movement had a lot to do with it. This game gives the vibe that cops can do anything. Also, it has a lot of white washing. Just look what that did with Morgan Freeman in the prison mission. I just don’t think a number 2 would go over well in todays culture
LCU took more time and money to produce and thus did not make as much money as hoped. However the current line of shovelware Marvel/DC series games have dropped in popularity. TT Fusion has been pushing for a sequel for several years. Maybe 2 years from now, maybe never, but the guys that made it want to do another. I'm 75 and just finished my 6th 100% game and am part way through a 7th. The most fun game I've ever played.
How would you feel about a fan made Lego City Undercover? I honestly think that if they want to abandon this amazing series for whatever reason, they can go ahead. But I don't want this series to die. When I get the stuff I need, I'd definitely try to make my own and it will be free for everyone to play... Hopefully.
Fun fact along lego games chase its one of the best lego fighters in all of lego only beating by well batman cause its lego batman but still chase its a close second
well lego city good game but... if u go far away from map u get to anaother city and it says u need dowload file if u do then u get lego city under cover 2 the rex is back and its beta and hard to get it u cant get it tho i got early acces
I don't even mind that you spent 22 minutes to get to the the subject of the title. I'll watch anything about Lego City. And yeah it really, really needs and deserves a sequel - set in a different city of course.
It’s gonna be announced as the true GTA6, calling it now and rockstar will be crying in the corner wishing they cashed in on this masterpiece. Maybe we will finally get LEGO lore in the Lego gaming universe!
I'm surprised that this game has levels, because the prequel just does everything in the overworld for the most part. I was expecting the same to be the case with this one, but ig not.
20:20 I played this on my trash pc and it loads quicker. Also co op worked great apart from my game crashing 2 times in a whole 100% playthrough with a friend
i played Lego City Undercover on the PS4 and it was a solid game not a great game and not the best lego game but as an original story and not a licence game like Marvel, Dc, and star Wars then to me this is the best lego game that they have ever made that they made and me personally I am glad that they made this game when thay had voice acting and no like Lego Harry Potter witch does not have voice Acting
Most Lego games are fun but this one is the best by a significant margin. Good story, good use of controls, lots of great Lego theme and classic detective film and tv references.

Maybe number 2 could be more about the fire department or something
LEGO City Undercover was the second game I ever played after Mariokart 8
My kids and I call this game "Lego Theft Auto"
I loved this game when it came out! It’s so sad that they abandoned the series.
How would you feel about a fan made Lego City Undercover? I honestly think that if they want to abandon this amazing series for whatever reason, they can go ahead. But I don't want this series to die. When I get the stuff I need, I'd definitely try to make my own and it will be free for everyone to play... Hopefully.
great video

I don't even mind that you spent 22 minutes to get to the the subject of the title. I'll watch anything about Lego City. And yeah it really, really needs and deserves a sequel - set in a different city of course.
Vinnie Parpalardo is supposed to be based on Joe Pezchi.
11:28 was funny lollllll
20:20 I played this on my trash pc and it loads quicker. Also co op worked great apart from my game crashing 2 times in a whole 100% playthrough with a friend
There is music you just gotta activate it in settings
i played Lego City Undercover on the PS4 and it was a solid game not a great game and not the best lego game but as an original story and not a licence game like Marvel, Dc, and star Wars then to me this is the best lego game that they have ever made that they made and me personally I am glad that they made this game when thay had voice acting and no like Lego Harry Potter witch does not have voice Acting
good video jeff
