Can you group the data into "bins?" For instance, If I have the ages of individuals, can I group them in groups of 10 from 1 to 10, 11 to 20, 21 to 30, etc? This is easy to do in Excel, but I cannot figure out how to do it in SPSS.
You can -- do you have a column for "age?" If so, you can create a new variable with syntax that will "group" your data. if you set up your "group" variable to be 1 = 1 - 10, 2 = 11 - 20, etc....then you can create a variable with syntax. if your age variable is called "age" and you have the group variable "group" you syntax would look like this: if age=1, group=1. if age=2, group=1. etc... if age=11, group=2. you do this for all of your values of age. it's time consuming but it works. Then you run your frequencies on your group variable. Good luck!
Hello, I'm studying geology and we have a lesson about the subject. I benefited a lot from the video. Thank you
bless your heart for this.
Thank you for sharing God bless you more
Thank you for uploading it!
Thank you very helpful!
Excellent!
How to make group frequency distribution of ungrouped data?
Could you please show me how to test significance between diversity indices using ANOVA and T-test? I am desperate please

Joey Ingles having the same problem, my work has to be turned in, in spss
Still haven't figured out how to do this in SPSS.
I s it possible to use measurement such as nominal and ordinal rather than scale
+Mohammed Mira Yes - but you can't make a histogram with nominal or ordinal data; the frequency analyses will work though.
thanks mam
