Colin Farrell has spent over two decades giving incredibly diverse performances and being the best part of anything he's in. The fact that he's never been nominated for an Oscar is insane.
It's really nice when you see an actor and a director who are both incredibly proud of the film. They don't need to fake enjoying the process, it's already there in all its sincerity.
Brilliant acting all around. Barry Keoghan is a knockout every time I see him. The animals, the landscape, the sense of place drives home the soul, the loneliness. Just beautiful.
“Simply, sadly, comically brilliant . . . in a darkly Irish way” was how I described the movie as the credits rolled and later added “and the cinematography, casting, directing, acting, costumes, and musical score were all top-notch too”. Since then I have realized even the donkey, border collie, horse, and cow played their part. Truly skilled, character-driven story-telling and movie-making; too rare in movie-making today. And sure to make an emotional connection that is universal and transcends ‘this is an Irish story’. Very well done to all involved.
In Bruges is my favorite film of all time . This is right up there. There’s a small group of directors and actors who when paired together deliver masterpiece after masterpiece. Colin and Martin are in that group.
@@HelloSpyMyLie I was ticked as HELL at the just teaser cliffhanging ending! this type of story, a platonic breakup, espeically between 2 men, is sorely missing from all forms of media as a whole. not only is this movie a masterpiece, it is also a deeply moving interpersonal story that we all need to see and experience. a platonic breakup can hurt just as much, and sometimes more, than a romantic breakup. this movie has done this type of heartache complete and utter justice. any ending, no matter the relationship, will always hurt, but the hurt is justified if one person isn't feeling fulfilled in the relationship, like Colm in the movie
Found it fascinating, how Martin McDonagh, leaves so much for these brilliant actors, to create and develop these characters and the story that ultimately is appears to the audiences in the theater. It is the collaboration among all the cast and crew that produce such beautiful magic! I absolutely loved this movie!❤
This film really resonated with me and I want to see it again. The whole thing is amazing, acting, scenery, directing, cinematography, every aspect was/is spot on.
I can't get enough of this movie; definitely one to watch again and again. If there aren't a slew of Oscar wins coming up for it, then Oscars no longer mean anything.
Side note. F'in Sam Rockwell has that very recognizable voice that they would not even have to point him out and I would think 'f, is that Sam Rockwell?"
Loved this film. Watched it with two friends and watched it again with my sister two nights later on my recommendation, went down very well. It's the saddest funny film I can recall.
This movie was incredible; beautiful, heartbreaking , relatable, funny, violent , and the setting was the fifth character, because the story could not have taken place, anywhere else A movie you can watch several times and still get something new from it ☘

COLIN FARRELL SI MARTIN MC DONAGH intr- o conversație sinceră și explicită despre noul film THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN ce a fost apreciat ,cu un bun punctaj pentru a fi nominalizat pentru OSCAR
Just watched the film, I would give it a solid 8/10. Really enjoyed the movie, it has it moments of bleakness but also lots of moments of pure laughter! Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan were amazing in this film, all gave great performances! I think Kerry Condon should get Nominated for an Oscar! She was absolutely phenomenal and I enjoyed every second of her performance, I am not going to name my issues with the film but the film definitely isn't perfect in my eyes but damn I had good time with it. In Bruges is still the best Martin McDonagh film in my opinion.
I just watched the film and I'm absolutely in love with it It was so beautiful and heart braking P.S/ sam rockwell chiming in was adorable. I hope that he's also in the next movie that they do
First thing that came to my mind was Colm was in love with Padraic and as he was growing old ,Colm was too hesitant to express his feelings.May be that's the reason he want Padraic to stay away from home. may be a way to avoid the rejection and embarassment. Also Domnic was always talking about Padraic sister and even expressed his love. The moment used the word wild infront of her ,may be he was sexually attracted to her knowing the fact that he ask's Padraic once if he had seen his sister without clothes. Poor Padraic ,he was so innocent throughout the movie and sorry for the loss of his miniature donkey.
I have never given a film a review before, but because I was so mislead by the positive reviews "the Banshees of Inisherin" recieved , I felt compelled to warn other movie enthusiasts to ignore the hype surrounding this. Far from it being the masterpiece it is claimed to be, to me the seriously flawed screenplay was something only a novice would produce. Yes, the cinematography and setting is beautiful , and the actors mostly do a great job with the silly storyline they have to follow, but no amount of good acting can makeup for this . As the non believable storyline unfolded in this film, I thought back to the positive reviews which encouraged me to view it in the first place and wondered how such a flawed script and screenplay could receive such praise and so many awards.. and as I write this, so many oscar nominations What comes to mind is the story of the emperors new clothes.. that many reviewers have been themselves influenced by the hype that has descended upon this film and consequently doubted their own misgivings concerning it. I know I'm not alone in thinking this is the opposite of a masterpiece of a film, in fact I was shocked to see it get a nomination for best picture in the Oscars. I feel confident that if I wrote the screenplay I would be laughed at, but I honestly wonder whether the previous success of mcdonagh Farrel and Gleeson and the respect they command among critics has blinded them from the fact that no amount of great acting or beautiful evocative scenery can make up for the major flawes in a script. It's not that I'm a Philistine, and don't understand existentialist themes, or realise that certain scenes can have allegorical/metaphorical significants and are not to be taken literally However .. to me Mcdonagh should not get a pass for coming up with the ridiculous actions of one of the main protagonists, as I maintain.. if I suggested this .. I would be laughed at. I am not a hater if McDonaghs work. In fact his film "billboards" I found original and really praiseworthy. So my take on this review is not because of any bias against him. Anyway it looks like this film is heading for award after award. All I advise is try and see through the hype .
