Thank you for show in Cleveland off! It really has changed a lot. It used to deserve a bit of its bad rep, but now I think it is starting to shine. I still see a lot of negative comments about it, though.
Oh yes, we do not miss places, but what they mean. It's like we miss how some people made us feel. And we never forget :) And the idea with the mirror behind is a great one, congrats! Man... I watched your video so curious about Cleveland and everything but what you said about not missing Cleveland but missing what the city itself represents, you going on a bike 1 hour when you were little and spending a great deal of time in Downtown just brought me back to memories of my hometown as well and I was so moved! You are so right when you say we have to live in the present moment and know where we are right now and just enjoy it. Thank you so much for making this video!
I'm currently residing in Washington state. I am also a native of Cleveland. Yes totally I agree with your thoughts you shared reminiscing on how growing up and life lessons you learned in Cleveland prepared you for your current life and who you are today. There's pros and cons with everything everywhere. Accentuating the positive. Ohio has an nostalgic urban charm, like no other, from the foods to the hearts and spirit of the quality people residing and striving there. It TRULY is the heart of it all. My next visit, I look forward to visiting cedar point. The rollercoaster capital.
I left Cleveland in 1975 and I can see a LOT of changes downtown. I lived in East Cleveland and what I've seen of it today, makes me very sad. It was a busy area and the people were very friendly. Around the Holidays, if you didn't have a family or a place to go, one of the neighbors would always invite you over and fix yourself a plate. The food was ALL home cooking at it's best!
Nice viedo good translation of thoughts. I also am from Cleveland I owe my determination and grit from the CLE many rough but real life lessons was learned there for me. I understand alot of what you were saying about living elsewhere and the feeling while there however I am still within the country just moved to the southern tip many years was my cure for the Cleveland winter's 😁 many blessings to you and thanks 🙏
I am from CLE. I left to the west coast of US for 11 years. I have returned to CLE after that. I appreciate the seasons, the people, the affordable cost of living here. My time away was valuable and needed. But CLE is home.

I just found your channel and your energy in this video is so great to watch! Thanks for taking us along your trip. And I definitely agree with trying to be present wherever you find yourself in that given moment. Great vid, great visuals :)
During the five years I lived in Cleveland, the Cuyahoga River caught fire. Yes. I was there. And then the underground newspaper got named "The Burning River News." I visited once and just about everything downtown was boarded up. I was SHOCKED. I mentioned it to someone, and he said Cleveland was starting to come back. Looks like it is fully back now! Enjoy your videos. You hold my attention, you are a great photographer and I love your positive energy. That skill of being fully present is THE skill that brings a good life.
At one time, Cleveland had a large number of people from the Slovanian countries and I've always wondered if that had some influence on the architecture there.

Happy New Year 🌟it really does look safe now, back in early 2000 I wouldn’t go downtown because of the serious crime and homeless everywhere, your videos look amazing Cleveland should pay you 😊😊😊 the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is a true Gem love that place
Marcella Adams I used to work third shift downtown and I wouldn’t have been caught dead on Public Square or Euclid Ave. after midnight. And like you said, that was back in 2000-2001. Nowadays it’s swarmed with downtown residents, people on scooters, businesses are open and Euclid is actually lit up!
Terminal Tower looks like a building in Warsaw, eh? Yes, this is my first video of yours that I've seen. I'm a life long Clevelander, and it has definitely changed here. I watched it all unfold right before my eyes. I remember Mike White doing so much downtown, and then so much happened downtown under Frank Jackson. (Two mayors, for those who aren't from Cleveland). In fact, I was here before Key Tower and 200 Public Square (formerly known as BP Tower) were here. At the end, yes, I do know what you mean by "what it represents." I would say that's under the word "home." Like, if I had been away from Cleveland for so long, like you were, I would just miss being home. As much as I would be happy to have a break from home and enjoy elsewhere and have a second home, there's something about being at your original home that's nice. When you were asking if it's a change in the city, or a change in perspective, I'd say it's a little of both. Like, how you said that, to you, downtown feels more safe now. But also, how you thought when you were on that bike with two flat tires, compared to how you think about Cleveland now.
A very interesting video. I don't live in Cleveland but my colleagues have mentioned it in passing. I am curious about why there were so few people walking around and so little traffic? Was it the time of day? The weather? The city looked rather empty.
@A M I'm sorry, but that sounds somewhat depressing. I'll be in Cleveland on a business trip from September 10 to September 19. I will have to judge the city for myself. One of my colleagues did give me a checklist of the reasons he left Cleveland and he asked me to verify the items he listed on it. I'm curious to see how accurate it is.
@A M I agree. We moved out of state and are much happier. People are so much more pleasant where we live now, and crime is so much lower. Cleveland could be such a great city if they would just vote in some good leadership for once, and get the crime under control - it is even spilling into Lakewood at alarming rates.
It was bad when you lived there and yes, they have improved it - NYC was horrible looking in the 1970's and then it got polished up - well now it is going down hill again since the pandemic. I am considering moving to Cleveland but I heard the weather is miserable in Cleveland very rainy. I do not like overcast days.
Well, winter sometimes gets polar vortex temps and lake effect snow. It's during winter that we have most of the overcast days, due to being on Lake Erie, as opposed to summer, when it's sunny. But, it's not like Seattle or London, England, where England has 300 days of the year with rain. It's not like that in Cleveland. We've had our rainy times, though. I remember one year, it might have been 2015, every day in June of that year, except for one day, was rainy. But it's not like that all the time. Basically there would be occasional pop up thunderstorms that last 15 minutes, or so. That's normal around here.
The person I'm currently dating is from Cleveland and he's recently moved here, down south. I hope to visit his hometown one day with him. This video gives me a little insight though 🧐
Cleveland is a medical/legal/service economy. East, Solon, Shaker, Beachwood are excellent places. West, Lakewood, Rocky River and the neighborhood right outside downton are pretty nice.

I moved here right before the pandemic and I absolutely hate it. People are not social or friendly. The opportunities are bias, there is nothing at all to do. You have to know people before you come if you don’t you will start to feel invisible quickly as a black young female.
What onto you see downtown Cleveland doing one is actually on Christmas day because when you see it on Christmas day though so much to do Christmas Eve Christmas Eve in downtown Cleveland those so much to do because like in Cleveland you have snow everywhere in light it snows in the spring so we’re still gonna be able to get snow in the spring on set an a moving to Virginia I’m mad because Dismon will have anything to do in Virginia Place hot place also very hot place
