This brings me back to 1990... I was 12 and we had just moved from Chicago to where we currently still live and I was experiencing school bullying in such a horrible way. And I hadn't known about Mr. Ross yet either, until we finally got a small TV with local cable! And EVERY SINGLE DAY after school, I'd sit with my snack and plop myself in front of the TV! 3PM was the time... this man saved my soul that was broken and tired at such a young age... My God if he could only know he was the one who inspired me to begin painting! I'm 44 now and I still believe this Mr. Ross is the best Artist in the world... He would be so sad to know just how bad things have gotten and maybe try to ease us with his voice and painting shows! 😭
Bob Ross was a genius I didn't watch his show as a child (I'm Czech), but this is pretty enjoyable to watch. It's original and also educational and it can help you to understand many good techniques! And it's quite calming to watch mr. Ross paint another masterpiece. Unfortunately, he's not around there anymore... F for Bob Ross
I swear...the theme music is damn calming and puts a smile on my face every time. I hear it and I instantly turn into a child watching him paint and all the world's problems fade away for 30 mins. Watching his videos helped me during the pandemic especially during the lockdown. I love watching him now as a 41 year old more than I did as a child.
I always liked it when Bob painted a home, cabin, barn, etc. Anything to signify humanity. Lovely as his nature paintings are, I liked it when his paintings acknowledged both humanity and nature.

The thing with paint-along viedeos is that most painters just talk because they feel like they should say something to avoid getting uncomfortable with the silence. Bob is the excepetion. He talked because he felt comfortable doing what he did. I actually enjoy him talking no matter what he says. It's his energy I guess.
I remember working at this hotel doing graveyard shift and sometimes I use to watch the TV because well there was nothing else to do sometimes at 2am or 3am plus they never had many channels nor any good ones but this show would always come on tv late nights and one day I said what the heck let's see whats going on here and honestly I'm so glad I watched it been a big fan ever since!!

For me, there is nothing more relaxing than knife painting, and with Bob Ross's voice, it simply becomes the ultimate ASMR.
