They copied most of this film from Goodfellas & Boyz N The Hood!!!!! Goodfellas starts off in a very similar way , it's starts off with 7 stabs & 5 gunshots & then immediately goes to flashbacks to show the main character as a kid!!!! it's also got the same exact character arcs as Goodfellas does : u got the one main character that is narrating the film , one costar character that is the young crazy one the does most of the killing & then the OG that likes to see the other two younger main characters do most of the dirt 💯 they even introduce the other characters in this movie the same way as Goodfellas which is during a party using the same exact camera movements!!!! the Hughes brothers said they took all they're inspiration from that film & basically stole they're plot from Boyz N The Hood 💯

yhp99 that could very well have been the case. But everything prior to that shows him saying this to be insulting and demeaning to the young men in the store. Is it common in Korean culture to harass your paying customers?! Killing somebody in cold blood for something that they said is wrong BUT this would have eventually happened to him considering his business practices and where he decided to open up a store. If you notice in the film he was not going to give them their change back he had to ask for his change. Also they just paid for other items and were walking out it would’ve been easier to say nothing at all opposed to making a remark about someone’s mother. This had less to do with his culture and more to do with him being racist towards the men that walked in there. If these were Italian mafia man that walked in there what would’ve been his reaction? If he was to say the same thing to them they would’ve reacted the same way if not worse. Actually the actors and the film crew came to kims van between sets to celebrate kims birthday with some cake n hookers. They busted through the door of kims trailer just as he was playing ping pong with himself. Kim yelled that "I dont want trouble-line" at everybody and got really upset. The director thought it was so good he used it twice in the movie. Incredible!
You're watching a legend in the making. Its crazy how a guy so nice can play a guy so menacing (pun intended). This was Larenz Tate's first film role and he knocked it out of the fuckin park.
I was working at a country club last summer, there was this 50 year old black server that talks a lot. The head chef was black as most cooks, anyways I mentioned to the server that I saw Menace II Society recently on HBO Max and he was surprised and excited I even knew about the movie (I'm a young Asian guy) and asked me how if I liked it and all that. He told everyone that I watched the movie. At the end, I asked them who their favorite character was, as I expected, most said O-Dog. They asked me who mine was, I said Ronnie. They were like, "who the hell is that?" It took them a second but once they realized who it was, the whole kitchen was dying of laughter. Good times.
@George Jackson O-dog is a psychopath who kills off of minor insults and doughboy is much more calm and reserved compared to him. Doughboy wouldnt start a shoot out if he didnt have to.
@George Jackson no you fucking sicko, he killed some elders because he was annoyed. They didnt deserve death lol. We only see him going there in the opening scene and he took bottles and opened them before paying, and then kills two innocent people

Feel sorry for the tourettes people while live in the hood
Especially Those Mexicans in LA. those people are nuts.
It's not funny at all. Its sad because they won't ride on the cops or white folks like that but will kill their own people.
Pretty chilling when u rewatch this and know caines narration is coming from after he died

Right at the start too, really gets you into the feel of the movie

Actually the actors and the film crew came to kims van between sets to celebrate kims birthday with some cake n hookers. They busted through the door of kims trailer just as he was playing ping pong with himself. Kim yelled that "I dont want trouble-line" at everybody and got really upset. The director thought it was so good he used it twice in the movie. Incredible!

Good times.
Well, if she was your favorite, okay. But i wouldn't have been so honest about it. I would have lied, and came up with someone else.
Larenz should’ve won an Oscar for this one. Boy did his thing in this.

O-Dog is the evil version of Doughboy.
@George Jackson I like doughboy more tbh boyz n the hood just hit dif
@George Jackson O-dog is a psychopath who kills off of minor insults and doughboy is much more calm and reserved compared to him. Doughboy wouldnt start a shoot out if he didnt have to.
@George Jackson when he shot two middle aged shop owners because they said an insult that isnt even that disrespectful.
@George Jackson no you fucking sicko, he killed some elders because he was annoyed. They didnt deserve death lol. We only see him going there in the opening scene and he took bottles and opened them before paying, and then kills two innocent people
@George Jackson nah, o-dog killed for petty ass reasons, you'll never convince me death for something so trivial is a good answer.

There's literally people in these comments saying murder is an appropriate response to someone hurting your feelings. Good God.
Just edgy kids with no sense of what the real world is like. Only the weakest, most pathetic mf would take a life over hurt feelings.
