The point is this, everything Tre heard from Furious was flowing through his head, and in turn Furious was probably mentally trying to force everything he has said/taught to Tre while meditating. Once Tre got out the car, as soon as the door shuts and he pulls off, Furious stops moving the balls. Im white and this movie has stayed with me ever since i watched it back in 1998 when i was 10. Saw it one night on HBO when my parents didnt know and i was hooked. It was so intense and terrifying yet i never could forget it and have been drawn to it ever since. This scene, along with rickys death, are imbedded in my mind.
so really, it’s just peer pressure? when Ferris bumped into Rick and Rick retaliated, it bruised his ego a little bit. But i think it was soothed when he did all that shooting in the air and had Rick them scrambling away, scared for their lives. Then that fateful day when he saw Rick coming from the store, I don’t think he had any intention of doing him harm. Until knucklehead said something. He probably did not want to be disrespected as a their leader so he just went with it and chased him down. He even stopped when he saw Rick and Tre cutting through that alley, almost giving up the chase but the other guy kept just forcing things. Why not stand up for yourself man? As a leader, you could have easily shut all that stuff down, now it’s a never ending chain of murders around the hood😭
The more I watch this movie the more upsetting it becomes. The cycle of all of it. Imagine killing someone over nothing and being so relaxed about it you can go sit down and eat and talk like you stepped on someone's shoe. Then, the audacity to say you didn't pull the trigger like you didn't facilitate it. You can tell Dough was on edge when he came up on the last guybecause he struggled to talk at first. Zero hesitation after the guy mouthed off. Also, Ricky should have spent more time with Dough because no way you stand in the middle of a street scratching tickets even if you think the guys are just trying to be scary. ZERO STREET SMARTS!

If you think about it he the one that started it when he pushed ricky while walking when they was on crenshaw that night so he caused all of it
4:25 idk why this part always does something to me
I wonder if this scene is like doughboy realizing what he just did and it made him feel worse or if he could only think about his brother and was so hurt that he really was out to kill and get revenge. Great movie
Because you can see that he just realized killing them didn't fix anything.
could be he realized he is next, that revenge isn't so great, or that it is all in vain: " either they don't know what is going on in the hood or they don't care"
In the words of the great warrior poet Ice Cube: "If the day does not require an AK...it is good."

This was a prime example of everyone needs a loving, caring but disciplinary parent, because in the end all Tre father could do was pray for his son to make the right decision and walk away
Them showing Ricky's killers just laughing and joking after murdering him in cold blood was wild. The whole movie you only see them in passing. As stoic antagonists with no personalities outside of "appear intimidating" bravado. But right before they get killed, you see them laughing, cracking jokes and appearing human....except for dude who shot Rick. 2:05 He still in terminator mode for some reason lol.
Well they do say he is young so he’s most likely younger than these other two and when you’re younger in that life and already doing fucked up shit you tend to be like a machine just no emotion
@@lottostuuuddefinitely
Although he avenged his brother's death, he had sealed his own fate. Revenge is a poisonous cycle that can kill you.
This is John Singleton's Greatest Work. He really peaked early.
Monster a straight up G…. My favorite character in whole movie….. Give my boy that baseball ⚾️ scholarship….
He let that K go no hesitation
4:07 one of those moments in movies where one of the villains say they didn’t kill anyone and try to put it on his own gang but that still laws them involved.
Boyz n the hood is in my top 10 of greatest movies ever made, the best hood movie imo, they don't make movies like this anymore.
Revenge is best served cold and without notice.
When i look at this scene i feel that this is the first time dough boy killed someone you can see it in his face and body language
Or this the first time he took it personal since it was his own blood
@Mr5anyika good point ,but dough boy wasn't killer he was drug dealer gang member you can tell it was the only time he killed
@@DoloWolfZero that’s your interpretation I grew up in La around dudes like doughboy and they moved just like him and were stomp down K1llers
"This mf crazy" right after blasting 3 dudes with an ak is a wild thing to say 😭💀
The 90s: when you had a saxophone playing during moments like this, it was always bad.
It's a really sad movie, Ricky getting killed is one of the saddest moments in movies.
Doughboys emotions and breaths before he says turn yo punk ass over. Good ass detail. Still had some human nature behind all the gangsta
I think they change the sound of the K cause on my vhs that joint was beating drum
Yup sure did. Sounds like an actual K because the original sound mix was way different.
It was changed in Blu-Ray upgrade years ago
Killing ain’t Good but the AK on this Vid does have a Cooler Sound Effect
They changed it when they released the Blu-Ray. Oddly enough, the John Singleton commentary track has the original AK sound though
How about monster hitting three moving targets from a moving car, outstanding!
Many people say never let revenge consume your soul but nah, the real justice is revenge by ones own hands.
Ferris got his butt kicked, literally.
The music score in this movie was so haunting and profound! It was dark and real and the same time! Ricky never got the chance that he deserved, and doughboys mom blamed him for it! Dough never got the love he wanted from his mother!
That POV shot looking up at Ice Cube when he’s holding the gun gets me every time
"TURN YO PUNK BUTT OVER!!" B.E.T version 😂😂😂😂
Im white and this movie has stayed with me ever since i watched it back in 1998 when i was 10. Saw it one night on HBO when my parents didnt know and i was hooked. It was so intense and terrifying yet i never could forget it and have been drawn to it ever since. This scene, along with rickys death, are imbedded in my mind.
I saw it after it released in '91.
I suggest you find & watch COLORS 1988 if you haven't already.
Them Chinese balls spinning always had an effect on me. Just tension.
My bf is white and loves this movie too😂
@@petepan9696 wait PAUSEEE🥴😂😂😂
so really, it’s just peer pressure?
when Ferris bumped into Rick and Rick retaliated, it bruised his ego a little bit.
Such a classic film
That's for Ricky!!
Is amazing how good of an actor that baby is. Can be told and can cry on cue.
Who's here in 2024 best movie ever
My question is how in the hell you see in the dark with sunglasses on and hit everyone of their asses 😂😂😂
Idk if Doughboy was a killer before this but Monster definitely was. You can tell
ZERO STREET SMARTS!
you got a point there.
This movie is very powerful after doughboy revenge brother death 2 years later he died

@@kodyb5869 technically ur right revenge is a good feeling but in the end it’s not worth it but the concept of the movie put ur mind in a mind state that was something u would think of first off the bat Bible say thou shall not kill so yea but to each it’s own
The part that always gets me is when that 1 guy was saying it wasn't him he didn't pull the trigger but you know what he may as well have been the one that pulled the trigger that killed Ricky because you know what he didn't do anything to stop it. So by him not doing anything to stop it he may as well been the one to pull the trigger himself.

I just realized when they dropped Trey off, Dookie was in the back seat. In the next scene, he was in the front seat. Never noticed that.
Probably many times this revenge has happened in real life too
Why was the audio of the AK firing changed?? Wtf
