- Is the hype for Sony games justified? Is it suspicious at all that The Game Awards showers Sony titles with awards and much more successful and beloved games get no attention? I personally own a PS4, Xbox, and a PC and love playing games on all three. But I'm a bit tired of this idea of imagined Sony superiority. So let's unpack the douchiness and elitism together.

First and foremost, awesome video dude. I hope to see you keep making more because you're really good at it. I agree with a lot of what you said, but have some disagreements too. I'll elaborate, it's probably gonna be long so I'm sorry haha.
100% agreement that for years I've also noticed that within the industry everyone loves to treat Sony like they are this S tier, God level company, when in actuality it's just not true. I'll give them this, they do put a lot of effort into most of their games and they all look great, even if they are strikingly similar to one another. I specifically only owned a PS3/PS4/PS5 because of their exclusives, but I would play every third party title on my Xbox (until I got PC) because the controls felt better, they hit it out of the park with multiplayer, etc. I am also a big Nintendo fan too and although they cater mostly to the younger crowd, they just make fun ass games.
That all being said, I'm going to have to disagree when you say that Sony makes games for the casual gamer. I'd say its maybe a step or 2 up from casual (semi-casual?). Like you said, Last of us II only sold 4 million copies and CoD sold 100 million. CoD is the casual gamer. Madden and all that EA bullshit is the casual gamer. I'd even argue Assassin's Creed could be a game for the casual gamer. They definitely make games to make $$, that's the ultimate goal of every studio, but they aren't pumping out annual game releases like CoD, AC, Sports games, etc. THESE are the games that are dogshit and ruining the industry, and these types of gamers only play 2 or 3 games a year and it's always the next annual release, they don't even need to be marketed to.
I'll also defend Last of Us II. People hated it because Joel died, but honestly, the writing and narrative in this game, the voice acting, the FEELS. I thought LOU2 was fantastic, better than the first. It had the balls to actually kill off the main character and I applaud it and they even justified it by bringing in Abby and giving her a great backstory. I do believe this game is a masterpiece and was deserving of every game award and nod it received. Something like Death Stranding though, which I have heard absolutely nothing good about, does not deserve to be up there. Even Ghost of Tsushima, while a beautiful game to look at (and is probably deserving of best art direction) got real repetitive, real fast. not necessarily a bad game, but maybe like a 7.5 - 8/10, no where near GOTY.
I agree with you that people (mostly those in the industry) love to suck Sony's d*ck and I do think Sony are very overrated, but I also have to give credit where credit is due and I think they are really good at making these types of games, but most importantly I think they're one of the best at writing a good narrative and that's what pulls people in. I would love to see them branch out and do different types of genres (they did have Killzone & Resistance as a FPS, but it appears that these are dead). I also think we may be starting to see people get fed up with Sony because of the moves Microsoft has been making and I am glad to see that some of their 1st person titles are finally coming to PC. Sony isn't god, console wars and fanboyism needs to stop, video games are cool. End rant.
Thanks for this response! I agree with you that LOU2 gameplay was incredible. I remember the first encounter I had with the dogs re-playing that encounter over and over again because it was mesmerizing. And certainly the polish, the voice acting, and all that was top notch because it's naughty dog.
But I would say that for them taking a story gamble also means they could potentially make a story choice that everyone hates. In LOU1 they took a gamble and nailed it with fans. In LOU2 they took a gamble and fans hated it. I loved the first half of the game. LOVED it. But when I realized they wanted me to sympathize with Abby and like her for the last 20 hours of the game I was unwilling to do it. I hated Abby and don't feel like the game earned the empathy I was supposed to feel for her.
Was it unique and inventive to have you play as the bad guy? Sure! But whereas LOU1 earned the emotions they wanted me to feel, I don't think LOU2 earned those emotions they wanted me to feel. (For me. It's completely subjective of course.)
And I hope people who actually watch the video will see that I give Sony total props for making incredible 3rd person cinematic story games. They are the best at that and Xbox can't really touch them there.

I bought a PS5 after skipping PS3 & PS4 simply because of all the great things I have heard about Sony exclusives. Returnal was the first one that I played and my mind was completely blown and it is one of the best games I have ever played. I thought “If this game that no one ever talks about is this good, how great are all their other games that everyone never stops talking about?” Insert sad trombone sound here because every single other Sony game I have played has great graphics, but the gameplay is extremely boring. I want to play a game, not hit a button and watch an animation followed by hitting another button and watching another animation.
I mean, Horizon Zero Dawn and all the other open world exclusives are very much likely similar to Ubisoft's open world games. I don't understand how they get high score ratings from critics all the time.

@@jjk5693 Sony exclusives are derivative in terms of gameplay and they bring nothing new or innovative to the table, the way I see it, they try to mask the lack of talent in that aspect with their stories, graphics, cinematics, motion capture actors that are trying to win academy awards, etc. When in the end these are video games, I think Sony is wasting his money.
Don’t trust reviewers from sites like ign, kotaku, etc, because they are paid in the form of advertising.
If you want to get honest opinions watch some reviews from not well known RUclipsrs, read comments from people that already played that game, Metacritic user score is also useful, there’s people that just gives 0’s or 10’s without any analysis, but there’s also people that gives lengthy and honest reviews from games, that’s useful if you want to buy a game.

@@nicekix3038 Literally, Sony has the worst industry practices even when compared to what Nintendo has done and gets away with it. Their game content is also very much stale and they priorities casuals and cinematics over quality gameplay.
Sony's exclusives are nothing more than boring flashy cinematic interactive movies designed for cusuals in mind, littered with hand holding tutorials, topped with a constant barrage of game disrupting cut scenes firing away the player like a machine gun, 20+ minute walking simulator segments, and long winded cut scenes. I can't stand most NA developers. Their games feel like a complete chore.
It's frustrating, because I absolutely loved the PS1, but Sony lost me after that. The only reason why I'm hanging on to my PS5 is for the PS VR2. Resident Evil Village has been absolutely incredible in VR, as will be the upcoming Resident Evil 4: VR Mode. ;)
It's not about gamer supremacy, it's about the human psychology of being obsessed over wanting to b superior to others. Consoles, like race, sex, religion, nationality, height, status, is just another excuse.

They will say “Omg this game is so good (because the story affects my emotional hormones)” and not say anything about originality and quality of the gameplay.

The Ps2 will always be the best era of Sony because they had a diverse first party and an insane amount of 3rd support that made up for anything they lacked. No matter how different their current line-up of ips are, they all have that same Naughty Dog Last of Us template. Every game feels you've been there and done that before.
I'd say PS1 by a long shot. They embodied the mid 90's and made the PS1 FUN.

Just look at how Uncharted 4 adopted too much of the Last of Us which made it boring but Lost Legacy actually felt alot like a proper sequel to 3 as it set in an open area with more freedom as it wasn’t directed by Neil Druckmann.

What's funny about most of sonys big 1st party titles like horizon, god of war, Spiderman and ghosts of tsushima is if you look past the pretty visuals and "revolutionary stories " that are derivative and average at best. Then what you're left with are ubisoft games. Third person combat in a bland open world with side pockets of content all over the place that add nothing and feel like a checklist, towers that open more of the map, crafting for upgrades, borderline pointless and bloated skill trees. Yet it's bad when ubisoft uses their formula over and over. Sony can just copy it while adding on the last of us element to some of their games when it doesn't fit and suddenly they make the greatest games ever made. I don't get the double standard and how these people that have this sentiment don't see their hypocrisy.
You couldn't be any farther from the truth. God of war and the last of us are literally the same game, spiderman is good for a 1st playthrough but the open world is boring and bland. Ghost of tsushima is ok. The difference between these games and Ubisoft is that Ubisoft actually makes an immersive open world with beautiful soundtracks and good stories, whereas Sony's games literally have no meaning. Put some respect on Ubisoft, they make good games. Just because Far Cry 6 and Valhalla weren't good doesn't mean their past games weren't.
Spider - Man gave me strong feel of the Arkham City clone type. And it caught me at a moment where I was so done with the collect macguffins and trinkets, unlocking towers, and... whatever else stupid thing you could think of. I am so sick of this bullshit and I think it's the most lazy way of artificially extending the gameplay if you want to complete the game.
They typically have better gameplay than games like assassin's Creed

Imo most sony games are pretentious,slow,enjoyable in some parts but pretty dull for the most part graphics are always 10/10 but every other aspect of the game is pretty average and sometimes even below average I don't think all Sony games are like this Spiderman for example is a fantastic game but games like Uncharted and TLOU are the poster child of all the things I just said

Gameplay always seems to be an afterthought with Sony games. Everything else comes first.. we get these beautiful graphics and stories but the gameplay is always shallow as fuck. They are basically story book art museums full of do not touch signs to walk through

i would say character models are the best, however the graphics overall leave a lot to be desired. from resouliton and frame rate to draw distance. the draw distance on all these ps5 titles are horrible.

I've been saying this. Sony is leading due to marketing. When Ragnarok got nominated for GOTY and ~almost~ beat out Elden Ring when it was only out for a month at the time was a clear indicator of who's pulling the strings at these award shows. Don't get me wrong I enjoy my PS5 and its games but as a gamer, I can see the tactics Sony is pulling to get ahead. And yet we're all taught to be "anti-Microsoft" it's hilariously biased at this point.
Sony exclusives are for people who stopped liking video games a long time ago, but who have also built their entire identity around video games and find it hard to move on.
So they buy and play these bad movies/walking simulators as they find only these products palatable.
They wouldn't give Ori and the Blind Forest a second glance, too much gameplay and not enough cutscenes 😤
I'm the polar opposite, I can't stand Sony exclusives now because they aren't games they're just lousy wannabe movies you can interact, there's no real substantial gameplay to them, I want gameplay not cutscenes.
I mean i enjoy both, Sony's exclusives are mostly great games even if some of them are very similar, they all have different story lines and themes and that's what makes them great. I also love indie games, I've played hollow knight, little nightmares 1 and 2, hades, and now I'm playing Ori and the will of the wisps on my switch.

As someone who played all the exclusives on PS4 I felt bored very quickly with each one when it came to the actual play. It is a lot of open maps with filler in third person mode. The selling point however is the production values or 'gloss'. They really do have some of the best art and cinematic story presentation
but you can also see all that on you tube playthroughs.

This video is everything I have been saying for years, and anytime I explain it to someone, they call me a sony hater! I have been on playstation since I was a kid back in 2003, but as ive gotten older the games seem extremely casual!

Another detail not so important but I think it's worth mentioning about casuals are the trophies in Sony's exclusive games. I don't play on xbox but bro, it's so complicated to get all the trophies of a single game on xbox, multiplayer trophies, trophy list all together like multiplayer and DLC's, trophies to beat on high difficulties. But on Playstaion if you notice, for a while Sony stopped putting trophies related to difficulty in their games, and the list of multiplayer trophies and DLC are sometimes separate, which makes it very easy to get platinum since a lot of players can finish the game on lower difficulty, and will have the same achievements as people who like me play on high difficulties, and that's kind of frustrating. (btw great video)
Problem with games today is just like social media,where 80% people says it's good everyone joins in. I don't follow trends or play mainstream games,real gamers find and play games based on genre they are interested in,not because someone tells them it's good

Honestly, as an Xbox and Playstation lover, I never understood the hype about the last of us, but the TV show was good ngl, but I only have 2 favorite Playstation exclusives and 1 or 2 favorite Xbox exclusives.
Last of us is popular because it appeases to the media. They will give anything considered "inclusive" rave reviews even if the gameplay sucks.

Finally now I know why I just preferred exclusive games on Nintendo. They had so many genre of games available. Platforming, Turn Based Combat, Overworld Adventure etc.
As someone who considers themself a big playstation fan, I think playstation's identity died with the PS4. I honestly think the PS4 and PS5 are some of the most boring game libraries out there. The fun of the PS1, 2, and 3 is the variety of games from platformers, to hack and slash, to shooters. But the PS4 mostly have third person over the shoulder games with a focus on story. I'm sure games like horizon, returnal, modern god of war, tlou, and many more are all great games, but they're not for me. I wish we could go back to the era when platformers dominated these consoles. Not saying there aren't PS4 or PS5 games I want to play, but I'll admit that I never felt like I was missing out by not owning a PS4.

I’m a PlayStation guy, pretty much always have been, and yet I still 100% agree with u on this .. I like the hardware Sony provides not so much the first party games
Sony killed it during the PS1 era, that console was the real deal and perfectly embodied the mid 90's. It was just a FUN more light hearted and colourful console. And somewhere along the way a lot of these NA games fell into the interactive movie cinematic walking simulator tutorial riddled trap, specifically with the PS3 & XBOX 360, but we were starting to see glimpses of it with PS3, most notably MGS Snake eater.
I'm old school, late 80's & 90's were the best time to game imo. I also loved the Wii because it was so unique and refreshing, and the switch has a lot of great games too, but the joy-cons are an awful replacement for the Wii remote and nunchuck and the Pro controller is an uninspired XBOX clone with high input lag. :P

Definitely miss some of the older ps3 games like infamous 1 and 2, the older god of war games and killzone. They should bring back some of their old series.

I agree with you man. Awesome video btw. The only exclusive from Sony I cared about was Spiderman. I was able to get it on pc and while it was fun, it got old after a while. To the point where I'm not really hyped for spiderman 2 anymore nor do I even want to get spiderman miles morales because it feels like it will just be more of the same. I tried God of war and it's good but I saw alot of similarities between it and spiderman. I have yet to try horizon zero dawn but it looks so similar to gow and spiderman. I also tried playing death stranding for a bit and low and behold, I saw EVEN MORE similarities between those games. It's actually insane how similar they all are.
Yet xbox constantly gets crap for not having enough AAA games and focusing on more online oriented games, shooters and western rpg's. Don't get me wrong, I still think they need to ramp up their AAA exclusive games lineup but at least the games they've made all feel different from one another. You can't say hifi rush feels like halo. You can't say gears of war feels like halo. You can't say high on life or redfall feel like halo or gears of war or doom. My point is, there is a lot of stuff that differentiates them from eachother even though they're all in the same shooter genre.

This is why I prefer Xbox over Sony. Theres nothing inherently wrong with Sony games. Most are fantastic and worthy of the praise they receive. But they're all the SAME! MS exclusives are varied. Sure we suffered the last Cpl years with lack of games, but MS have made all the right moves to rectify that.
Flight Sim, Forza, Halo, The Gunk, Starfield, 12 minutes, The Ascent, Stalker 2, Redfall, and then the future in Fable, Avowed, Scorn, Ark 2 etc etc. not only is that a good amount of games to look forward to, but not one of them can be directly compared to another.
Who doesn't prefer Xbox of PS? It's just a fact that even a SERIES S runs way better then a PS5. Such a shame from Sony's side because everyone i know says PS is overrated nowadays.

A year later, and I will never buy another Playstation console. I don’t care how many franchises they bring back from the dead. Over it. The predatory business practices are getting out of hand.
The shift to appeal to western fans destroyed their exclusives. Sony used to have such great selection: Bloodborne, Gravity Rush, Persona 5 etc. Now all they exclusives are pretty much lame western games.
I always thought I was missing out on good games because I don't have a PlayStation, but after playing most of their exclusives on my PC I understand what you're talking about. Most of the games have minimal gameplay and most of them are boring, I tried to finish the GOW game until I realized that I wasn't enjoying it and was actually bored.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks the same way you do about Sony's games.

What's really annoying is not just the entitlement from the fans but to some extent the developers as well.

I have always been a PC gamer. For years I missed out on playing sony exlusives. in 2022 I got a ps5 and I was so hyped to play all those games I couldnt. I played them and realised, all the games played the same. It was boring. Horizon was a pain to finish. Spider man had fun movement but the game is exactly like Horizon. Ghost of Tsushima, again the same exact game with a different location and move set. It feels mass produced and lacking any character. There are some great games on the PS. Bloodborne being the best exclusive. God of War, Uncharted and Last of us are stand outs as well due to great writing and story telling even though their gameplay again is very similar. Ratchet and Clank, after playing 10 hrs, you've seen the whole game. Recently FF16 released and it was the most casual numbered FF i've played. I like the game because I love FF, but man, I wish it was deeper.
Just by seeing walkthorughs and watching my friends play I concluded a thing similar to you. This may sound like a long shot but Its more like a blockbuster for videogames. Slighlty fun but If you grab the wrong one it doesnt matter, you can still rent that one on the next month you go to the store. Because they all feel casual and formulaic. Like to death.
I agree that Sony games are EXTREMELY overrated and that The Game Awards are BS, but claiming that a game’s popularity has anything to do with accolades is just a completely ridiculous argument. The top box office movie, the most listened to song, the #1 show on TV and even the most popular news programming are all complete trash compared to lesser known artists/individuals in their respective fields. Transformers didn’t win an Oscar for a reason. Gangnam Style didn’t win a Grammy. Keeping Up With The Kardasians would never be considered for an Emmy. The fact of the matter is that awards are not merited for simply appealing to the widest base of people, they are given for outstanding performances in any given art. The most popular things typically are geared toward the lowest common denominator, or as my Dad likes to say “Never over-estimate the taste of the American public” or as I like to say “The masses are asses”

I feel like the way they are over rated is because who else is dropping content like that? It's always been Nintendo vs Sony. Being with playstation all my life I'm tired of seeing Sony trailers of games on regular basis. If there was more competition then I feel like nobody would feel this way. But since it's only two and one being a major console it's a different story.

I don't hate PlayStation exclusives but they simply just do not interest me and I feel like this is the problem Sony exclusives just don't have any variety they are just all action games that aren't even different from each other even games like God of war and uncharted are literally just the same thing. action games that have very minor differences in gameplay but as a horror fan I enjoyed days gone and until dawn if Sony could offer different games that will interest people who like different games that will obviously bring more attention

sony exclusives for me are hit or miss or you wait long enough to make it woke and drag the name threw the mud ... me personally i just use ps at this point for tropies but slowly transitioning to pc full time to play older titles , indies and online where the community isn't kids

They're nothing but Tomb Raider clones. All of them:
The Last of Us = Zombie Tomb Raider
Spiderman = Superhero Tomb Raider
Death Stranding = Sci-Fi Tomb Raider
Horizon Zero Dawn = Prehistoric/Futuristic Tomb Raider
And this is not just a Sony thing, but Sony games of the last 3 generations are notorious for this. It's the Marvel of video games. The issue is the more expensive the consoles get, the worse this will get. You need a high attach rate of sales for the console manufacturing to make sense, so the games have to get easier and more accessible.

I sold mine a couple of years ago because I got sick of the types of so called great exclusives which amounted to heavily cinematic experiences with heavy story narrative. They were all basically following this formula. The idea told to me was that it was a much better experience than I would have been used to and it simply wasn't. Looking at the games now it seems Sony is still pursuing these type experiences and so I made the right decision
Jet Moto wasn’t “literally” a knockoff of wave race 64, it came out 5 days earlier in America and has a totally different feel to the gameplay. It looks similar at first glance is all. Jet Moto is still overlooked to this day and I had a lot more fun with it than WR64
I find it a tad hypocritical to say Sony only creates games for casuals and then say cod should wins awards of them because mass casual sales lol. You cant get any more casual than cod. Your friends are using “hardcore” incorrectly though. Arma is hardcore. Someone playing 40 hrs a week of videogames is hardcore. Games that are more difficult and inaccessible to your average person are hardcore.
You are correct COD is for casuals, just like Sony. My point wasnt that COD is hardcore but that the degree to which Sony runs that awards show is evidenced by the fact they didn’t speak of Warzone. (Because it was the most popular game that year.)
To me. A casual gamer is someone who plays every now and then and wants to unlock stuff on their own time with ease. A hard-core gamer is the ones you see on RUclips who do nothing but game all day every day and complete these "mandatory addiction or miss out" battle pass bullshit like it's nothing and still complain for more content
It's not about the gameplay style or formats that makes a game hard-core to me. it's the ease of access to content within the game that desides that

I think the problem with PlayStation exclusives is how they keep reselling games with a fresh "coat of paint" like how The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered extra content could of been DLC especially mainly focusing more on cinematic realistic games that feel like more movies and shows than actual games themselves especially with gigantic budgets that be enough for making a movie with also the other IPs being dormented like Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper in either they don't know what to do with them or they made themselves to be more of a mature gaming brand with Rachet and Clank Rift Apart being the acception and they also lack 1st party kid games or Platformers which really bugs me alot
The similarities in their big AAA titles is def noticeable. Gameplay is kind of repetitive with some cool niche things like Kratos's axe or Spidey's swinging . I don't mind as long as the story is good and the bosses are nice but yeah it's no rdr2 or witcher 3 where you can spend 80+ hrs exploring the world.

Cause I personally was never this disappointed with a game in my life, the story is even worse than TLoU2 imo, I truly never felt more animosity towards a game until this cesspool released.

They are good games but sony fanboys doesn't realize nobody gets to play MGS4 because it stuck on PS3, imagine discovering something cool only to keep it to yourself. You want exclusives fine but they should be available to every platform after sometime certainly after a decade later. Original God of War games is still not on PC,(only avaible via emulation which encourages piracy), and having a PC port of a game is always the best way to preserve that game.

The issue with the VGAs is that the core who vote in the awards don't matter, its all about the journalists. The journalists grew up playing games and wanting to write about them. Mostly those were SP games. If you listen to the way most games journalists talk about multiplayer it's just plain dismissive. They only care about their cinematic story games and casual multiplayer. Hence why the games industry is where it is now with things like trash talking being removed from game lobbies entirely in multiplayer and the most popular games out there not getting a mention despite it being a better representation of what actual gamers want. Nope, we get movies from PlayStation and the journalists lose their minds!

As a sony fanboy whose actually respectful, i'ma say like 60% of this video is wrong. Again, respectfully. I can agree that the sony community is elitist, but so are nintendo fans and PC gamers (excluding xbox because they don't have anything to really flaunt except controllers & pc gamers are specs delusional as if the higher the specs the chances the game will run well, but that depends on the developers). The need to sell to casual is the only way to stay alive in the market and not go bankrupt. There's a small amount of hardcore gamers in the gaming community as it is. I can argue that casuals are mainly on PC since it kind of explains Playstation's need to port and send games day one to PC as well. we all know people who paid $1300+ dollars just to play games like val, league, raft, overwatch, minecraft, dota, and gta 5 which are trendy casual twitch games to say the least. Most of these games you showed are indeed the face of Playstation itself now, but you didn't show off the games that are marketed on big stages as well such as Dreams, Rachet & Clank, Gravity Rush, teraway unfolded, knack 2, bloodbourne and the list goes on. Sony and Nintendo gamers are actually the most diverse hardcore gamers looking out for showcases, developer talks, and plain ol' finishing games. I do agree that indies are where the hardcore gamers are heading to though, but Sony definitely listened to gamers in the past. game awards is def a rigged show. after ghost of tsushima got snubbed, I knew it was all rigged. Ghost of tsushima had the best side quest character development ive seen in any game in years IMO tho. the main point I disagree on is there are definitely consoles that deliver more than others. Nintendo offers a lot. your point on xbox offering people on mics has nothing to do with the games itself and game pass is convenient, but still lacks great games from xbox devs. PC doesn't offer much, but emulation cuz ports come out bad or releases hardly ever pull through. nothing starts on PC also. Most games are primarily created for console itself before it even goes to PC. most of your takes are kinda coming from a PC casual gamer take but it's respectful rather than superior. My thing is there's competition in everything and whomever wants to partake in it should have their saying because if not, your video wouldn't exist nor my comment now. there's sport in everything. Can I just say, what every other console has for exclusives, even if it’s not a good exclusive, they all have something that PlayStation exclusives don’t. Originality and personality. You can say what you want about Halo Infinite, The Legend of Zelda, Redfall, Mario Odyssey, Forza Motorsport, and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but they all have an individual spirit and soul that defines them and makes them unique. You could never confuse them with each on gameplay alone. Even Forza Motorsport 8 couldn’t be confused with Gran Turismo 7 just because of how drastically different Turn 10 and Polyphony’s approach to game engines is.
This lack of originality is a huge problem, because if I feel like the game I’m playing is boring, and every other major exclusive is going to be exactly like that, what’s even the point of owning a PlayStation? After all, Nintendo has plenty of exclusives and Xbox is upfront about not having a lot of them.
Now I don’t want to judge a console solely on exclusives, because it’s an unfair argument often used against the Series X despite the fact that it’s imo a very good console, but considering how much Sony is priced on exclusive games, it’s ironic how copy and paste they are.
This is a trend that needs to change, because if you’re like me, the only three reasons to own a PS5 are GT7, WipEout Omega Collection, and Driveclub, and two of those are PS4 games…
Unlike the Switch and Series X which keep me coming back with:
Great Exclusives from Nintendo
Backwards compatibility that gives me access to hundreds of Xbox 360 games without owning one on Series X
Family friendly party games like Mario Party or Kart or Switch Sports on the Switch
Xbox’s great controller
A way to bring the games to another house easily with the Switch
Great graphics and faster loading times on the series X
And the ability to easily capture moments of gameplay on both consoles
All of these things are either things the PS5 can’t do, or doesn’t do nearly as well, meaning in a time where it has competition from the monolithic monster of the Series X and the versatile vagrant of the Switch, Sony needs to step it up
The PS5 can do all of those and better. Not easy with the switch from house to house. Unless you have to redownload then again on the friends console. If that's the case it's the same.The PS games that get ported to Xbox doesn't run as smooth or look as good. Look at death loop and ghost wire Tokyo. Mind you now ghost wire is a Microsoft owned game. Capturing on the PS5 is seamless. I can capture a clip and upload it straight to RUclips in seconds. Even comes with a RUclips video editor.

@@wieldylattice3015 Ghost wire was broken on Xbox. No PS5 can't play PS3 games, but I mean each console has their own ecosystem. You can't do backwards compatibly with PS5 besides PS4 games. You don't have that feature with the switch either. Those consoles are known for their exclusives. They are for gamers. They are in the top 10 best selling consoles of all time for a reason
To me tho Nintendo isn't a main console. Reason why I say that is because it can't have all games on it due to it's low specs. It makes up for it with being able to take it anywhere and it's exclusives. PS5 is known for its games and how fast the SSD is on it. Xbox is good for retro games and it's multiplayer. No console is better than the other from an open minded person such as myself. Everybody knows what's best for them. But if you are a fanboy then the Sony and the Nintendo fanboys have the crown at bragging rights because of sales and games.
