The veterans have the best quotes of all the dwarves. Durin's quotes are also good too. In my experience, upgraded guardians tend to become veterans more often than non-upgraded ones.
Theres some bugs with the Dwarves faction, the second line of defense that allows you to build more defensive buildings within you bases only works with your starting base. You cant build them on outposts youve captured. On the Erebor subfaction the special unit called "Axe Swingers" cant atack if you upgrade them with heavy armor. They will swing their axes but the enemies will not be damaged. Also another bug for Erebor, they build the Dale-Marketplace on outposts witch will generate a base of 10 resources per resource tick, while the Lake-town outposts of the other subfactions generates 40.

If you wish you can watch that, if you need some info on it, or watch some other videos because a lot of RTS players did this mod. Really fun must say. Dwarves are amazing, I did a big campaign with them.
