      I'd say alcoholics enjoy the taste of alcohol like heroin addicts enjoy getting stabbed with needles. Big difference between sipping a glass of whiskey and chugging a bottle of it lol

    What he's saying is let the alcohol numb everything and you're good. Always add a splash of water too... helps cut the burn and opens up the flavours. I was skeptical when I first heard this tip, sounded like snobsville but it worked and changed how I enjoyed great whiskys

      Idk if it was just psychological or there’s some science to it but I agree. I like whisky cocktails but drinking whiskey straight was tough for me. Just had some Makers 46 French Oaked in a Glencarin. I was able to pick up on way more while taking smaller sips and enjoyed it quite a bit. Got any recommendations for something bonded with less oaky notes?

    I have no problem adding a bit of spring water to cask strength whiskies. A few drops of add water can open up a whiskey and give it more of a fuller flavor. Experiment.

    • @whiskeybonded
      @whiskeybonded  Год назад +6

      Agreed. Some people look at Cask Strengths as a way to "pick your own proof" 👍🥃

    • @mountsj
      @mountsj Год назад +4

      It's best to use distilled water. The various minerals in spring water can change the flavor of the bourbon. It's interesting to try both and see if you can taste a difference.

    • @JCG-lb9gr
      @JCG-lb9gr 11 месяцев назад

      @@mountsjagreed. I have tried both and distilled water yields better results imo. Now limestone water, or branch, is best and that's why every real whiskey joint in Kentucky has it. But not everywhere is Kentucky 😅

    Mum just got back from Mexico and I sent her on a treasure hunt in Walmart….
    I scored a bottle of Angel’s Envy and and a bottle of R6 !!!
    The R6 is very interesting young whiskey, as being aged only two years.
    The Angel’s Envy, for me, is literally three fingers heaven.

    • @EditName888
      @EditName888 11 месяцев назад +1

      The R6 I didn’t realise was aged minimum 2 years, i ignorantly assumed it was aged 6 years when I looked it up online, so when I was given the bottle, I felt a bit uneasy in my decision…but I tell you what!! Once I cracked it and sipped it neat, straight away I was dumbfounded. “How can this be so good?”I thought.

    • @EditName888
      @EditName888 11 месяцев назад +1
