      Why? The 700 is probably the most popular and respected action in the industry. The most copied action of all. The ADL Remington is a great rifle.

    Great review. One of buddies, who guides pronghorn and muley hunters, bought a post bankruptcy Model 700 BDL stainless steel in 25-06 to use as a backup gun for his clients. Out of the box it shot 1” groups with hand loaded 120 Paritions at 3030 fps. He also tried hand loaded 117 grain Hornady Interlocks and they shot slightly better than the Partitions at similar velocities. All in all he’s happy with it for the price since it will serve its intended purpose.

    I bought a " used " Tikka T3X from a shop here in Edmonton last month, I think it was unfired but no box or warranty, it's the stainless model in 6.5 creedmoor with the basic Tikka synthetic stock which is an ok stock, I easily adjusted the trigger to 2.75lbs, cleaned the barrel and mounted a 20 year old Leopold VX3, the first time out it shot .5 ,( 3 shot ) with match ammunition, I quit after that first group, shot it twice since with 4 or 5 brands of factory non premium ammunition, it's .5-.75 (3 shot ), with all but one brand, it shoots to almost the same place with all ammunition, all this for $1050, I'd gladly spend a few $ more rather than purchase a cheap Remington or Mossberg, that $1050 is extremely excellent value for $$

    I bought a 700 awr in 30-06 and considering my accuracy with handloads and box ammo. Id say its worth the 979$ cad I paid. However. A basic 700 should be priced the same as a savage axis. Awr has a stainless 5r barrel and a grayboe stock from the factory. Worthwhile improvements for not that mych more.

    Typical with the Remington ADL. I handloaded for one in 270 for a hunting buddy. Shaved a bit of the stock in the action area to improve the bedding. Did a latter test with a 130 grain Sierra bullet . Most accurate load was 60 grains of H4831 . Shot from 1/2 to 3/4 inch 5 shot groups with that load. Straightest shooting 270 Winchester I have ever seen. I did not even free float the barrel. That's the Dangdest thing I ever seen in a cheap rifle.

    • @UltimateArms
      @UltimateArms  3 месяца назад

      that maybe so, but a basic rifle like this for this kind of money? i think remington got way to greedy on this rifle. when i can buy others that are more bang for the buck at the same price, and shoot just as well ore better. thanks for the comment and dont forget to subscribe!

    Remington isn't using good business sense here. They have a legendary action to build onto.They have a legendary name to work with. Since they're trying to reestablish themselves as a legendary company, why would they come out with a top-loader only, a cheap, plasticky stock, and a trigger that fires off at 4.5 lbs. (I've seen another that is almost 5 lbs.). I hope they're not taking lessons from John Deere. They had a chance to earn some attention from shooters/hunters who are just looking for a reason to place their faith in Remington again. They didn't do much with the opportunity. Thank you for a really good review.

    Other than the M40-A1 I was issued in the Marine corps, I have never had a 700 that was very accurate. The 700 BDL are beautiful rifles but just not very accurate. I just don't have an interest in them anymore. The Begara or CVA are much better than the Remington. JMHO.

      After watching this thoroughly evaluated review and others by Epik Arms, I found a Black Friday Sale 700 ADL for $776 CDN . Out the door with taxes it was $877 CDN. It’s got a 24” 308 barrel and I’m pulling it off tomorrow so that I can install my beloved go-to .22-250 barrel that absolutely loves 55 grain VMax handloads. It’s my tried and true .22-250 barrel that delivers the goods!
      Thanks for the fabulous reviews! Yeah the ADL stock and its hardware will be up for sale and so will the barrel. As many of the commenters mentioned, I only want the receiver for the next build project. And that’s the joy of buying these actions. This is my number 5 Remmy action / rifle since I’ve got these in ; .223 and .243 and 6.5 Creepmore and .308 Varmint and now , 22-250 sporter barrel.
      As the title says, a “basic hunting rifle,” I can install my hunting .22-250 barrel and add all sorts of aftermarket stocks and scope and Robert’s your dad’s brother! Similar to a Harley Davidson motorcycle, all the accessories out there will make this rifle your very own. I’ve even bought cheap $40 SPS factory stocks and “Dremel’ed” a Magpul Hunter stock DBM magazine kit to fit and work well with the family of AICS magazines. Lately I’ve been watching all sorts of videos on how to customize this $40 factory stock with Krylon rattle can paint so that my stock will resemble a McMillan GAP camo stock without paying a $1000 USD and then mailed to Canada! Good enough for the girls I go out with.
      Yeah this rifle was an Ilion NY made right, but I do my own tweaking and I have a craftsman gunsmith near me who owes me piles of favours since we help each other lots!
      Life is Good!!
