Dr. Roy, it's been 6 months since you did my surgery and it was a great success. Meeting you was the highlight of the whole trip, of course. Thanks for all your great care! You shouldn't leave the house without something blue like you chose today.

Hi, Dr. Roy. I’m coming to you guys in a few weeks for a thyroidectomy. Dr. Clayman is my primary, but I was told via email you’d probably be on my team as well. I really hope that’s the case! I even called to be like “Yes, please!” I was originally supposed to have it done last year with a different surgeon more local to me, but I had such a bad experience setting it up, I just knew it was the wrong fit and postponed. I haven’t even met you guys yet and I already feel extremely comfortable and informed going in. All these videos really help. I really hope I get to meet you next month! (I’m also in school and have hopes of becoming a surgeon, so I find you quite inspiring, as well!) -Sam

I have enlarge goiter and I have notice that I am having more difficulties when swallowing, example I shock easily, I need to chew my food very well to avoid shocking. I have not check my Thyroid levels for a while, I lost my insurance. I continue taking levothyroxine 100, about 14 years ago a doctor did a radioactive iodine. Dr said that I had hypothyroidism and hashimotos disease.not candidate for surgery to continue taking thyroid medicine for life. I had a nodule removed from my left lung 2017 and i remember anesthesiologist told me that I had a very closed neck that it would be difficult to insert the tube, I had surgery and I never had any pain or any difficulties on my neck or throat area.

I am from Singapore. I am treated by doctors for thyroid nodules since 2015 at the National University Hospital. They treated me with biopsy once, a yearly ultrasound of my thorax and high intensity focus ultrasound.
Since 2021, result from the scan shows I have multi nodular goiter. Since early April 2024, I feel compression in my throat. I was told by doctors that the goiter is on the right and they recommend surgery.
Should I go for surgery? I don't want to go on lifelong medications.

You can try Lobectomy if your cancer only on the right lobe and there are no lymph nodes or tissues involved. There is a good chance you do not need thyroxine after Lobectomy, good luck!
