I love the concept and have ordered one. I may be the first one to have one in Mongolia! That’s not important but it’s just a fun fact.
I’d like to see some improvements though. These could be options because they don’t affect the main chassis and design.
    1) hard plastic parts on the shoulders and elbows. For my hard enduro riding on rock terrain, soft pads alone just don’t cut it for point loads.
    2) more abrasion/cut resistant material to protect the bladder on the upper arms. If you look closely there’s only thin stretch material protecting portions of the bladder. This means, even in a slow speed side fall the bladder isn’t protected for sharp material which could easily penetrate and render it useless. That’s an expensive repair for the cost of a little bit extra material.
    3) forearm straps to keep the elbow armor in place which also prevent the sleeve riding up.
    4) passive side rib protectors could easily have been included on the side straps. A handy customer could probably borrow some from another roost style protector. But these should have been included. Again side falls with no deployment are when you need these side rib protectors most.
Most of what I suggest is already featured on different off-road shirts and protectors, so I don’t see why A* didn’t include them here. Could be a weight saving “feature”?
Of course, you could just wear an abrasion resistant shirt or jacket to better protect the bladder but then you’re getting into potentially overheating problems. I saw on the video that almost all riders were wearing jackets over the tech-air.

Very curious about this. Obviously a huge upgrade in safety for the street but I also ride enduro and come off my dirtbike at a standstill very often haha. Wondering if that would be a problem but still interested. Thanks for the video guys!

I assume it is 100 waterproof to immersion in case you fall in a river?

Possibly a great development, but really wondering why no slow motion video of product deploying, or some other demonstration of technology.. Or maybe I missed it.

But it doesn’t protect the ribs…kind of silly since ribs is mostly what I hurt.

Can the Rally Mode be used for Motocross?

No, the Tech-Air Off-Road cannot be used for MX. There is an MX focused Tech-Air system in development and Alpinestars should have more information on that next year.
