Born and have always lived in South Florida. I'm 75 now so I guess I'm a true Floridian. Julie, I love your videos. I watch every week and just love your precious personality! Thank you.
Always enjoy your thrifting videos. You show such great restraint in your choices. I don't possess that trait so it's good that I get my thrifting satisfied by going with RUclips thrifters.
Love the little bird, I am looking for some to add to my decor. Love all of yours. I wish I had your energy. I guess when you get old your want too’s don’t get accomplished. I’m still trying. I love to decorate. One of my daughters gave me a compliment last Saturday ,she said Mom you really know how to decorate. Most of my things come from thrift stores, love it. 🥰❤️
Hi Julie, I live in SW Florida been here since 1986. I enjoy watching your videos as well as how you decorate your home, so beautiful. Have a great Saturday.
Berry much loved the winter scene. Lately I’ve been drawn to them and the only thing I can figure is they look so peaceful. Was talking to the screen telling you to pick up the plant stand. That was a great find.
The op shops as we call thrift shops have very poor display of items and prices are ridiculous. But I have made some minor changes in my decor, thanks to you Julie. I went through cupboards and placed on display some things I had tucked away and now have many more photos of my 5 boys, my grandson and partners of the 2 boys who are married on display.
I liked the second picture you looked at, the frame from the winter scene, the shelf you looked at, a red vase under the plant stand with wheels, the bird you got, the picture frame you got, the basket right before the jewelery box and the quilted bag you looked at. I don't use pages from books in decor but I take pictures from wall calenders that I think are really pretty and frame them or Modge Podge them onto canvases I paint. Hope you and yours have a great weekend and pet Piper for me.
I just watched your May 21st video and it made me laugh out loud when you said you had no ideal why that basket was shape so funny, but I'm sure you've heard by now it's a stair-step basket, made to mock the shape of steps.
living in sunny South Florida and loving life! Wish the thrift stores down here were as inexpensive are yours. Had to back up the vid when I saw the Schirnding Bavaria plate, I have an entire set!! (Different pattern though 😄)
Hi Julie enjoyed seeing you thrift and how you incorporate you finds into your home thanks for sharing. Prayers Blessings to you Larry and both of your families Hugs Love Mildred!
When looking for authentic milk glass, hold the item up to the sun,and if you see an amberish glow or firery hue along the rim it's real milk glass!. 👍😉
Hi Julie👋 Greetings from sunny, South Florida!🌴🌊🐚🌞 Love your videos. Thanks for your decorating tips using thrifted items. The top of my fridge looks great because if you!💙
We are having the whole inside of our house painted and we have wood floors and all new carpets in some of the rooms. I love to decorate with books, but they have to be old and not crazy fiction if not the masters. I am excited, this house is new to us.
The best way to learn about milk glass is to just go to an antique mall and ask them to show you different types of milk glass. It’s pretty unmistakable, but prices vary; better milk glass is usually signed. Milk glass bud vases like the one you found I would never pay more than a dollar for. They are extremely common.
Loved your little bird that would have come home with me too . I think the silver tray I would have taken home and painted it in the middle either as chalk board or to put a transfer on .love your videos xx
Enjoyed your video today, so nice to go shopping. I saw some great stuff i would have liked to buy, We have been in lockdown for about 2 months, only grocery’s and drug stores open. Have fun styling Your treasures, till the next video, sending you love from Ontario Canada, Irene
If you are looking for small and very small lamps try Dollar General right now if you have them in your area. I just bought a very small one that is adorable for $12.00.
That picture is Courier and Ives - American Homestead Winter. That tray was pretty - the engraved one, I've seen them lined with a doily then a vignette placed on them so the engraving would not show if you did an arrangement on it. I like your idea about the lemonade bottles, it may be tough to find all you want at a thrift store, possibly Dollar Tree online will have them.
A 7.99 sofa? Hmm I have to wonder what's wrong with it. I love those green bookends. What an adorable little jewelry box! My grandma left me hers which was just like that and it plays "where is your heart". Can't wait for the next thrifting trip.
I have binged watched enough of your videos to kind of know your style. I keep yelling at you "GIRL don't you dare put that back on the shelf. Put it in the buggy" Then I say.. "OOOooo I LIKE.. Save it for me" .. The nearest Goodwill to me is over an hour away, but our local thrift shops still have good stuff. Thanks for fun videos.
I'm from Alabama..borned n raised there..but got married to my husband, and I had to move to where he was at, which is Florida..I've been living in Florida now for over 38 years...lol..but hello my sweet friend..lol..
Julie.... that picture is my Street I live on in New York State.. it looks like that from October to April ....LOL!!!! NO....joking ! You always find GORGEOUS SNOW PICTURES and you live in Texas !!! You need to move NORTH ! Embrace the snow..... ! LOL!!! I love what you did with the page from the Gardening Book.... grand idea ! I’m going to get my Dad’s gardening books out and look for a page to do that...if I dare... I still have a hard time doing anything to my parents items ...😢 After 18 years ...you would think I would get over that! For your lamp to go on the counter, have you ever thought of getting the Kit at JoAnn’s to make a lamp? It is a screw on top for a Mason Jar. I did that years ago and used it for 20 some years. Sometimes I would place something in the jar for decor ( faux snow at Christmas ? ) then leave it clear with nothing for a change. Just a thought. I have a corner on my counter that is dark and I placed it there and it was perfect. They may even have different sizes to fit a small mouth jar. Mine was a wide mouth. You will find that light for the porch someday !! And the Hutch ...( which I STILL LOOK FOR for you! 🤷♀️ LOL ) Hugs your way sweet lady! ❤️❤️
I love everything you found on this trip. I definitely would have got that plant roller too! I recently bought some from Aldi. That's so awesome that you found another bird to replace your broken one. 👍💕 I think I'm a Florida girl at heart, one day I will live there. 😉
I found a gorgeous elephant candle holder for almost nothing at a garage sale...it is very heavy brass!!!! 3 elephants walking on a row which I placed 3 in h candles on top
Hello. This is Vickie, Larry's wife. Wanted to share with you that just today on channel "MY TAKE ON HOME AND GARDEN" Jeff showed he and Angela's collection of milk glass and talked about how to identify it. I really enjoy their channel. Also, you are so lucky finding those birds. I never find any. Finally, I wanted one so bad I ordered one from e-bay which was a little bit costly. Thanks for your channel.

Use that silver tray anyway. Paint the center a black chalk paint. You can fill etching in with light sanding and some sort of putty.
Thank you so much!
The silver anniversary tray would make a cute chalkboard by painting the center with chalkboard paint!!
