Very informative video ,but I am curious around the 5 min 30 second or so you remove the side case and are now back looking at the gear shift lever on the transmission and doing something in that area before going about reattaching etc would you mind commenting , again very appreciate of any info . I am not a mechanic and am working on r side gear case of HONDA HS 624 . Thank you
Thanks for this.. I did notice something in the video, there are two possible places to mount the belt tension arm bracket onto the side plate, there are upper holes and lower holes. Looks like it was originally in the upper position but you re-installed it into the lower position. I did the same thing by mistake and it did not work out for me, the drive and auger cables were too tight and didn't work right, had to move it back.
go to your settings and put playback at half speed and it's much easier to follow the steps. wish it were as easy as this guy makes it look. have done about a dozen myself and it takes me about 4-5 hours . maybe after 100 I can do this in about 2.
Hi there, OK. I've got the HS928 model and the Transmission Release Lever is stuck in the RELEASED position. Its jammed. I got under it and tried moving the pin that the release lever is connected to and it is totally jammed. Tried to free it with arc joint pliers, but I ended up breaking off the area that is drilled for cotter pin connection. Brought it to my Honda Dealer and they told me "it is seized" and it would cost over $1500 to fix it. I'm having a hard time understanding that - seems they really didn't know enough as to what is really wrong and just said its "seized", which to me is not an adequate explanation. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Would you recommend drilling into the aluminum shroud and putting a grease fitting into it? Donyboy73 does it in his video. I got a Honda 1332 and nervous if mine breaks now
@@grousefan802 donyboy73 said that it’s from pushing to when the tracks don’t move. Eventually the shaft will break. He said don’t force it to move basically
@@assmunch1 looks alot like the gear set up on rototillers...and they do the same thing...look around at those vids... water will find a way in through seals-gasket...if there is a breather hole.... prob a good idea to pull apart every few years and clean and lube. summer job.
Is there any problem getting the output shaft from the HSS unit after the trans is bolted to the steel plate? I had thought I would be forced to insert it into the transmission case assembly before bolting on the plate (which makes bolting the plate to the frame awkward, and hard to insert the studs for the tensioner assembly).
Just replacing pin is hit or miss. No way want to do this repair twice for going cheap. Honda won't guarantee that type repair. Watch donyboy73 video on this.
Are you supposed to put that much grease In a gear case.. is there a point where you can put too much WOW.. BUT THIS IS WHY I'LL NEVER BUY A HONDA SNOWBLOWER. They're very complicated, hard to fix, hard to find parts, parts are expensive THE SNOWBLOWER ITSELF IS SO OVERPRICED FOR WHAT IT DOES. Torah or Ariens track systems are a lot cheaper to buy parts, they're more available, easy to fix, and 1/3 of the price and does the job the same.. I just don't understand why people are obsessed with Honda snow blowers.. Yeah they do a great job but you don't need to spend the amount of money you spend on a car on a snowblower to get the job done.. It's insanity You got to be rich to buy one of these things..
I have 4 that I use to snowblow driveways with and they work better than any ariens iv ever seen. Neighbors often have parts break and ask me to do their driveways in heavy storms. I very rarely have breaks. Parts are mostly readily available at John deer dealerships. Quality is much higher. More complicated machines but last 20x as long. In my opinion that’s because of the difference in wuality
Next time do it a little faster so it is COMPLETELY impossible to follow you! One of the WORST videos I have ever seen. I think he is trying to impress people instead of be instructional because it is not at all helpful. Does anyone know of one that is an "instructional" video?

It would have been helpful to switch to normal speed to describe and show the gearbox and broken part, and again to show reassembling the gear box.
yes WAY TOO fast! you blast thru that part so fast I can't tell what broke or what you replaced.
You realize RUclips allows you to alter the video speed from 25% to 200% of normal speed

Any tricks or videos on re-installing the cable bracket 🤬😳

That is probably not a bad idea. Every one of these that I have opened up has had moisture in it.

Yeah, I've seen that video too. I'll Have to consider it.
@@grousefan802 Do you have any insight on where the moisture is getting into them?

This should have been shown in slower speed and more explanation on reassembly.
just pause it where you need to...
Where's the broken pin?
He didn't want to point out the broken pin, rather charge the customer for a whole new shaft instead of replacing pin.

Careful to note ; that driveshaft can fit in either way , but only one way is right , lol . Ask me how I know …
Good video but Dude, tone the music down or speak louder
nice if you slowed down and let us see what you are doing
