Friendly reminder that the most hated Star Wars project of all time, The Holiday Special, has an audience rating of 20% imagine being worse than The Holiday Special.
Imagine Bob Igor thinking Kathleen Kennedy would pick up a reputable director of Star Wars shows, Leysle Headlamp who served Harvey Weinstein. What could possibly go wrong????
Star wars theory was such a good channel run by a decent guy who gave Disney every chance. I have nothing but sympathy to see him finally broken by the hate of even the most lenient of fans. To ruin it for him is proof that Disney despises fans
I really gave Disney a lot of support. I thought the Force Awakens was a film that set out a lot of threads and it would only work if the next film pulled them...and the next film did not pull them, so that was disappointing. I liked Solo even though no one else did. I hated Last Jedi, I thought Rise of Skywalker was basically like a kid who goofed off all semester only to pull an all nighter to get an A via razzle dazzle instead of quality writing but ok, you passed. But they lost me in Mando S3 and Ahsoka was just so boring.
Yeah I was quite surprised to see him here, seeing how hard he tried to stay upbeat about all of these shows. I believe when Obi Wan was going, he was still quite hyped, at least at the beginning, when most people were already yawning.
When I heard about a jedi knight, I equated them to the knights of Camelot. Honor, chivalry, peace keeping, fighting only when necessary and serving in a golden age to help keep many safe. They were flawed and human but did their best and fought for the many who could not fight for themselves and now we get this... I am one of those girls who fell in love with Star Wars and dreamed of being a jedi knight fighting along Luke Skywalker. I didn't need women to make me feel included.
The craziest thing is that there already were female Jedi in the movies before the newest trilogy/games/novels/comics/animations etc. and ppl loved it. Starwars already had inclusion, it was already there. Maybe now it’s all fake and forced it probs feels disingenuous and the writing is god awful, not an interesting story at all.
@Shadowchsr79 I agree. I'm reminded of their code: "A knight is sworn to valor, His heart knows only virtue, His blade defends the helpless, His might upholds the weak, His word speaks only truth, His wrath undoes the wicked." For me Star Wars will always live on in those 6 films, and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. By any chance have you ever played KOTOR?
All of that shit wasn't thought out because Star Wars was never thought out. This was a schlock movie with the right talent working on it at the right time that blew up in the right environment. That's why Alec Guinness thought it was "fairy tale" crap. Listening to these guys talk about "George" as if he did anything of value really makes me laugh, everything good about the OT was fixed by people other than George. If George Lucas could've he would've made the same garbage we got from the prequels and the entire franchise would've never happened, but other people came in and fixed it for him. This franchise is a fluke. It needs to end.
Also, one of the first things C3PO says to Luke is calling him “Sir Luke”. It was definitely intentional for the Jedi Knights to be compared to actual knights
Is that even technically possible. Can you feel nothing as one of two feelings? "If anything could do it I'd imagine it would be Star wars". I started this comment not knowing I was going to paraphrase them on the hatewatch audience lol.
I view the last Jedi as having dealt a mortal wound that millions of people didn’t really acknowledge. This show is finally dealing the finishing blow. It would be awesome if the next show or even Movie gets zero attention, but sadly there are still people who love messing with a corpse.
I agree. But I always hear people say that and is confusing to me because it makes it sound as though people thought that The Force Awakens wasn’t pure trash as well? That’s probably not the case. But, I couldn’t even get past like twenty minutes of The Force Awakens before I turned it off and never watched another Disney Star Wars property again. Unless it was through watching a RiffTrax version of that filth. I seriously believed when Lucas sold it that there was no hope for the IP anymore. I’ve only seen the different shows and movies through reviews. But, man, every single one of them is horrible in my opinion. For me, the only good Star Wars was the original six films and the original run of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, animated television show. Again, the original run of that show that George Lucas created and was heavily involved in. I thought it was incredible to see so much more of the Star Wars universe through that rad show. I haven’t even given a thought to watching the last season of the Clone Wars show because I had no doubt that it was going to be unadulterated $&@! Lucas, had nothing to do with that last season (Season 07 I think) or how many there were of the new seasons to the show. And just looking at the promo stills for it showed me all I needed to know about how garbage it was going to be seeing the chicks with the shaved sides and garbage like that. Plus, those new seasons were created solely by Filoni basically and regardless of the fact that he was heavily involved in the original run. Well, I still think he sucks so hard without George Lucas there. For me, the last true, real and good Star Wars was the original run of Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV show. If you like Lucas’ Star Wars I highly recommend you watch just the original run of that show. It’s awesome in my opinion. The original run of The Clone Wars ends with Season 06, Episode 13 I believe. It’s titled “Sacrifice.” That’s the last episode of the show that Lucas was involved with. Just don’t watch past Season 06 basically is what I would recommend.
@@VoidPocket Oh, you’re right about Force Awakens. But a lot of us didn’t really accept how bad it was until Last Jedi. Force Awakens benefitted from a ton of us being desperately hopeful. After last Jedi, we looked back, thought it through, and understood that it was a horrible way to start the sequel trilogy.
I usually watch everything anyway, my bar for entertainment is very low and sometimes i watch just to see what the critics are talking about, but i can't watch this, I just can't
The only thing that would have made it funnier is a coven of GUNGANS reciting the chant: Thissa bombad powah of onesah… Thissen bombad powah of twosah… Thissen bombad powah offen maaaaannnyyysah! Tis demanded by da guds, eet issa!
It is extremely impressive The Acolyte is as bad as it is, I don't think someone with the specific intentions to be this bad could be this bad because a person like that would at least have a coherent plan.
Reminds me of the trailer for the upcoming Borderlands movie, I was like: this casting is so bad they can't have been cast at random, because if they did that they would likely get at least something right and they got every single thing wrong lol
You know Robot Chicken Star Wars is mostly very funny! But there was one moment that stood out to be as going too far. When they showed Luke and Leia in bed together and they were taking about how they were siblings I thought that was distasteful. But even that seems highly respectful to Star Wars compared to what Disney did with last Jedi, demise of Soywalker, Kenobi series, and the Acolyte! The Acolyte hasn't quite reached Last Jedi levels of insults in my opinion but if they completely portray the Jedi as evil then I would say it has become even more insulting than any other Disney Star Wars project!!!

The black mother drained all her followers of their Force powers, killing them. That's my prediction. It is a standard anime plot, and these writers have no imagination. This explains all of them in a room and no wounds. The Power of the Many is used by the One.
I'm willing to bet they'll make the reason why Yoda and the Council doesn't want to take Anakin into the Jedi order is because of Osha/Mae. Another retcon comming our way.
There is a Star War's hair stylist on Planet LOreal that doesn't know that there were two sisters and was just giving them the same hairstyle, thinking that they had a split personality disorder.
I know this is a joke, but this is the first time I considered the theory that it’s just one sister the whole time and the other one DID die as a kid and she’s just going full Fight Club out of grief/sith influence. A ‘Star Wars does Fight Club’ story honestly doesn’t sound terrible, *if it was done right which it won’t under disney*
The Copium is wearing off. When the Sequels came along, some people were still riding on the Prequel hate-train, Expanded Universe haters were even happy that Disney took over and normies were just looking forward to more space pew pew. There was this unholy alliance of EU-haters, Prequel (and by Extension George Lucas) haters, normies and massive amounts of copium.
I’d say Star Wars was on life support from the time Disney bought it until 2017, when TLJ killed it. Since then, they’ve desecrated the corpse and worn its skin around like Buffalo Bill.
@BlackyBlackerson The Force Went to Sleep wasn't really welcomed in by too many people. The way they ended Hon Solo, I have no idea WHY would Leia hug this stranger, instead of hugging Chewy, who was her husbands best friend. And the whole thing wasn't an original thought. They took pieces of the original trilogy and just copied and pasted it.
Im glad Theory has been on because its pretty clear to me now that hes not just another shill. He knows his shit and he's willing to call out the stupid shit, but still tries to be positive, I respect it.
Boys movies and girls movies. I've had some experience with this. When I was a kid, a mixed group of us went to see a film and it was selected by one of the girls. It was 'Beaches'. On leaving the theater all the girls were weeping, and all of the guys were wondering what the fuck that film was all about, and there is no way that the girls get to choose the next flick we all go and see. It takes a bit of effort to get a guy into a theater. They have hobbies, sports, are more then happy to sit in the house for hours on end not talking to another human being, and if we do 'go out' we can sit in a pub for hours, then go home and sleep, go to work, and then go sit in a pub for hours. Women need to 'go out'. So a woman will go and see a 'guys flick' cause she is just happy to be out of the house. A guy will need a bloody good reason to sit through two hours of 'chick flick'. Part of the genius of 'the Barbi flick' was piggybacking a 'chick flick' on to the back of something that would appeal to guys. So if you want to make money, make a film for guys.
They need to make a guy-movie sequel to the chick-flick "Beaches," with manly men riding motorbikes on beaches and fighting and swearing and blowing things up, and call it "Sons of Beaches"
Beaches. Ha! At least you didn't have an adult rent Candid Candid Camera for without screening it for full frontal nudity first. We also got Mask, thinking it was the cartoon, and not a stupid Cher movie.
I think I saw Beaches. Isn’t that the one where the one friend gets cancer and dies a long slow death and then her free spirited best friend takes care of her kids? I might need to be more specific, that plot could be at least a dozen different chick movies
I'm team Chris. The only thing we can do with Star Wars is break up. Episode three is exactly what I needed to see that. I want to say "thank you" to everyone involved, because they helped me cut through my nostalgic fog.
The Last Jedi did it for me. Although, I did watch Obi Wan episodes 1 and 2, which thoroughly reinforced my decision that Star Wars can go and die in a ditch. Everyone's 'line to be crossed' will be different, but it seems DEIsney won't be happy until they've crossed pretty much all of them.
Correction: Episode 3 of The Acolyte didn't kill Star Wars. Rise Of Palpitine did that and then turned it into a pile of ash. All this did was scatter them into space. And even then, some other show would have done that anyway.
@@roguewookiee Exactly. People can name all these other 'cringy' moments or bad storylines and lazy one dimension but properly diverse characters, etc, but TLJ is what destroyed Disney Star Wars. TFA was by no means some feat of filmmaking, but at least it was a solid start. After that movie came out, I and probably most others assumed that, while not IDEAL, it was a sign that Disney wanted JJ Abrams to take Star Wars in the same direction as the newer Star Trek movies... safe, modernized, fast paced, lots of flashy lights, quips and one liners. It had all of them. So while it wasn't what most of us wanted, we at least figured 'what the hell, just consider it a separate canon from the EU and enjoy it for what it is' but then along came lesbian nonbinary space ramming.
I'm quite saddened to see Theory lose complete faith in star wars as a franchise, despite me disagreeng with most of his earlier takes, it is obvious that he had this franchise in a special place.
Yeah, agree. Even though people like him are partially responsible for where Star Wars is right now, it's never nice to see someone loose something they once loved dearly.
Depends on how you look at it, I suppose. I would still argue that the people producing the media are the most responsible for the quality, but keyjangle enjoying star wars apologists like Star Wars Theory let them get away with all the shite. As you said, "what they helped sow".@@ExValeFor
The guy just wanted a continuation of a show that he's loved all of his life. I don't fault him for that. He did forgive a little too much, but he called out the BS where he saw them straying away from what Start Wars was inherently all about from the beginning. He just wanted the story to be good. I was excited when TFA was announced, but it's just been a string of worse and worse additions to the established IP over the years and it hasn't gotten better, it's steadily gotten worse.
You seen how they treated Henry for him wanting to stick to lore in The Witcher.... You think anyone involved in that Dance/Chant would ever stand up and say "This is cringe"..... they all clapped and cheered.
My autistic son turns 21 tomorrow and we had a Darth Vader cake tonight. We spend at least an hour a week discussing Star Wars lore. And the entire time is spent on the first 6 movies and their memes. It brings us joy and we ignore the rest. That’s enough for us. Star Wars is dead beyond that :(
Im new to being a dad and I love hearing about other dads having something good to bond with there kids about. That’s awesome man. On Disney Star Wars specifically im sorry there’s not new Star Wars stuff for you and your son to bond over.
Absolutely delighted with this episode, especially the hilarious way it opened. I really liked that and the geeky argument between Angry Badger and Theory over the nature of magic in Star Wars. Looking to the 100th!!
It’s cool to see you guys chillin with Theory, he seems like a chill dude, you should get him on more streams when you’re talking StarWars it’s interesting to hear his perspective on this 👍
From the very end: A 7 Samurai type story IN SPACE already has a movie. I forgot it's title but I've watched it many years ago. A young man goes out into space to look for mercenaries who'll help defend the planet against a powerful space pirate or something. They recruit a bunch of aliens - from a space cowboy, a wanted assassin who looks for a place to hide, a woman from the proud warrior race who sees this as a great challenge, a lizard man with personal beef with that space pirate and some flying saucer aliens... At least that much I remember. ... I need to look up this movie because now I want to watch it again. Edit: The title is: Battle Beyond the Stars
1999 might have been peak humanity? We had great films, music, shows, food and buildings, but also had tech like PCs, early internet and great consoles.
People coming around to how Dave Filoni sucks is like how people found out about Jimmy Saville. Yes, it's good people realise what he's done, but Star Wars is already dead and raped.
Not a fan of ole Filoni. In fact, his projects are some of my most disliked across the franchise. He just makes silly decisions. Felonies is like so many poor writers & creators who only know how to pile things on top of a franchise. Like a pizza, at some point, there's just too much junk and it becomes a casserole.
Filoni was fine as long as it was just children stories of 25 minutes duration. I was already sceptical when they started with the whole time travel and dimensional gates stuff. That was a sign of things to come...
Austin Powers was when DVD really started kicking in for people and becoming affordable. I remember it was (maybe Columbia House?) offering six DVDs for $15. Everyone had it. So when the second came out, it was hugely anticipated and popular. It was Mike Meyer's arguable peak. I was 19 and lived in L.A. at the time (saw PM at the Chinese Theater), and Universal City was all Austin Powers 2 marketing. It was absurd.
Oh man you just brought back a flood of all those bad Austin power/dr evil impressions!!! "One million dollars!!!" *** camera zoom**** pinky to corner of cheeky evil villan grin**** 😂
1:24:03 If you don't like something, you stop watching it. They can call us all the names under the sun. Racist, bigot, homophobes, but when you lose connection with something you love, you walk away. We're walking away from Star Wars. We don't care what people call us.
Lego did a study while trying to break into the market to get girls to buy legos. It found that boys (generally), when they play with toys or watch a show, put themselves into the character. So if they’re playing with Batman toys they think, “how would Batman handle this?” While girls assert THEIR beliefs and wants and needs on the character, example: making Batman go shopping or something like that. I thought this was insanely insightful into Lucasfilm’s utter ineptitude with regards to SW, indiana jones and willow. Just thought it was interesting and this seemed the place to share it :)
Wait. Didn't Luke see visions of the future as well, with Yoda saying that Jedi can see glimpses of the past and future, but that it isn't always set in motion? In this sense, Anakin isn't the only one who had these "mystical powers".
To the discussion of a pitch for The Acolyte: They could have gone back to the period we see in Star Wars The Old Republic MMORPG, or maybe before the Sith demise... A story about a force user found on some planet where he/she was an orphan child who begins to show signs of force use... We see the Sith come to this planet, and pay off some old person working at the orphanage... They approach the child and test him/her to determine if they are truly a force user... They take the child to Koriban or whatever planet we want to be trained as an Acolyte for the Sith... You have some various cuts here and there to show the harshness as the child grows up in this Sith training location... The beatings, the battles against other students, and so on, just to get a sense of how harsh that existence was... Cut to the present, introduce a few more students who are almost like friends but still rivals... Show through various scenes how this Acolyte is a bit different from the others, perhaps a bit more powerful, but is holding back because the character has still not fully bought in to the whole Sith life, and is instead just doing what he/she needs to do to survive... Episode 2, the characters are all woken up with the sounds of explosions and what not going on at this training center, as it is being attacked by the Republic... Lots of chaos and blasts, and so forth as all these students and personnel are scrambling around, people getting killed left and right... Eventually a couple of these students find their way to a Tie Fighter, fighting breaks out as they all scramble to get aboard this ship that can only hold so many people... You see how brutal some of these students are as desperation sets in, killing each other to climb on board... The acolyte, a couple students, an administrator from the school, and one of the Acolytes "friends" (badly hurt) are able to get the ship launched... You see a scene in space where a battle between the sith and the republic is taking place, as this rag tag group tries to fly this ship, they escaped in, as best they can, to avoid getting blasted... Eventually after a bunch of space action, they crash land aboard a sith cruiser... As they are getting out, the Acolyte, trying to help his/her badly injured friend get out of the ship... Some soldiers who are running things in the launch bay, as they point directions for these survivors to go, and deal with the launching of fighters, dealing with other injured people, and the general chaos of managing stuff going on, they see the injured student... And while the acolyte thinks they are trying to help, they begin to take the badly injured student away, but quickly as they check the student out, instead of helping, they decide he/she isn't worth saving, and shoot him/her dead, and move on to the next crisis... There are so many thing you could do to tell this story about a Sith Acolyte who really doesn't want to be a Sith, but has to deal with all the struggles, and all these other things you could do, to tell a story of his/her just trying to survive... Perhaps being placed under the watchful eye of some low level Sith lord for several episodes, doing stuff with that character... Following the character as he/she deals with things going on with this new master, and some of the other underlings... Later on, you could add a twist, where one of the other acolytes, under this new lord, is actually an undercover Jedi spying on the Sith and their plans... Somehow the Acolyte finds out, and so now you have this moral dilemma; does she/he report this, or help the Jedi, or just plays it cool, as perhaps a future way of getting out of all this mess... So many more interesting things you could do with a tale like that...
I remember as a kid watching the first season of Star Wars the Clone Wars and Anakin sacrificed himself for Ashoka and another Jedi master causing him to be severely hurt. The other Jedi master when responding to the admiral of Anakin’s ship berating him for being reckless asked her if all Jedi were so reckless. She responded “Only the good ones.” That is my idea of heroism and what it means to be a hero and a man. This is why people are so mad. You’re messing not only with our childhoods but with our very ideals.
Regarding Headland not understanding Star Wars. She pretty much admitted it when she said, on that interview, (paraphrasing now), that you only have to seem sure of you self and pretend that you know what you're talking about to get the job. That means that if you are a good bullshit artist you can get the job, and I think that is exactly what she did.
"The worst thing was when geek culture got invaded by tourists..." Absolutely bang on.....When Nerdy hobbies became trendy, trendy people wanted to get into nerdy hobbies....with the result being they burn it down then move on to the next trendy thing like locusts on a carcass.....
I am a woman, born in 1989. I watched Star Wars as a kid, all my female friends watched it and liked it. I never considered it a boy's brand, the way Barbie is a girl's brand. I don't think I'm living in a bubble. I just thought, Star Wars is good stuff and that's why everybody likes it. You don't need to be a hard core fan, but I think, almost everybody I know, no matter what hobbies or jobs or lifestyles these people have, has watched the movies more than once. It's just standard good entertainment for many people. At least that's what it was. I think, they never even needed to appeal to women, they just should have told a good story.
Thank you Star Wars Theory, Ive been saying the same thing about how the jocks are still bullying us with our fandoms. I was a hard core Dr Who fan and remember being made fun of by everyone for liking the show back in the 90s when I was in high school. Now Im being told how Im the one wrong with the fandom of Doctor Who and Star Trek and Star Wars. I enjoyed that shit way before the ones now did and still care even after these locus leave. They arent tourist they are locus plan and simple.
The only old piece of tech i still have from my father other than the record collection, is the laser discs and the laser disc player. I just found it fascinating as a child and I was one of the only people of my age to be able to name what it was. None of my friends had a clue about it and so it kind of has a soft spot in my heart as being this odd bit of history no one cares to remember really. He did buy Twister on laser disc so I'm gonna have it booted up to be used for 4th of July party for the family.
It definitely feels like she’s taking out years of feeling like she was just brushed aside by Spielberg, Lucas, De Palma and Scorsese. It is still my favorite thing ever when she thought Spielberg was gonna include her at the Indy promotion and he called out John Williams. The instant reaction of disdain in her warms my heart! 😂😂
As a child of the late 80s and early 90s, I grew up on Jerry Bruckheimer films( Top Gun, Days of thunder, Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2), but it was in 1996 when a film called 'The Rock' was released..and really hit a chord with me...cant tell you how many times I've watched it....but it was the first time I picked up my vhs box, turned it over and started reading the names, so yes I'm a Michael Bay fan, nobody does action like him, not saying he's the best but he's got a style. His humor, not so much haha, but I am all for another Bruckaissance and have been waiting for Bay and Bruckheimer to reteam
Dang it Bob I loved SW. As I write this my memory just floods with fond memories of SW. I grew up in a small town where we had a legit one screen 20th century Fox theater that sat like 100 people. I watched a New Hope like 10 times with my lawn mowing money. I hated it when the movie was over. Then The Empire Strikes Back came out. Holly shit! I was much older and I can’t tell you how much I loved that movie. My rich buddy had a VCR and a 3 color projector . We played a game on who could memorize more lines. Disney just doesn’t understand what a phenomenon SW was and what it means to millions. Pisses me off how terrible the IP has been treated. The sad thing is if Disney came out with a kick ass SW movie I would be back. I would gladly be transported to a galaxy far far away. Just for reference I took my kids to Clone Wars in the theater for goodness sakes.
a pattern I've Noticed is that anyone who looked at didney movies from 2012 backwards who looked at something and thought "I want that but more Adult" shouldn't be allowed within 10 000 kilometers of anything remotely creative. doubly so if they are part of the Alphabet Mafia, they will crowbar the D.I.E into every single available space, even if it doesn't make sense or fit they will force it in there.
I never thought I would actually care about pop culture but your conversations are so interesting. I tried to watch Star wars on VHS when I was 16 I couldn't get into it.
i still have star wars on VHS! I'm the same, not big on pop culture fan but it's just fascinating to see how an extreme political ideology has infected an industry and contributed to it's decline. Same with gaming. And the conversations feel like you're hanging around with mates saying what they actually think no matter how un pc is it. Brilliant!
1:07:00 nut just "why didnt he save them both", but think about it, why doesn't he do anything to check if there are any other survivors. Imagine if the police show up to an incident, like a train crash, and they just grab one kid, leave everyone else there, don't even check if anyone else is alive, and then they all just run away with her, take her to another state and put her in a new school and tell her to try to forget about her old life and tell her that she can't go back, no one can go back. Thats how insane the writing was for that scene. The jedi just ran away... which maybe makes a slight bit of sense if they are going to cover up what happened, but even if something bad happened and the coven attacked them, they would want to stay and possibly save anyone they could, at least check the other daughter died, at least bury the bodies how they would have wanted to be buried. they just leave them all dead and run away.
I'm really glad Mauler and Theory discovered each other. I don't follow Theory's channel to closely, but he comes across as a genuinely nice, easy-going dude on these streams.
This respectful debate, or “nerd showdown” as put by Sir Mauler, is refreshing because it’s normal between nerds and true fans…it’s honestly a lost art these days and I do believe Star Wars will be kept alive by moments like this.
The fight between team Sidious vs Team Maul was already made if I'm not wrong. That's the Clone Wars episode Savage Oppress loses his life. Maul barely escapes. Also proves Magicks has elements of the force but functions differently and that's why Palpatine befriended Talzin to learn it.
31:32 Lmao Theory's face as Drinker says all the new Force powers like his precious Filoni Nightsister magick are dumb. He is right - the Force is now just whatever the writers want it to be.
I think that what was intended with the Force and the NS Magic was complex and had laws within. But from what we saw on the Disney era is just lazy writing by using all thoses events and snippits to justify their stories instead of digging dip. Thoses events were rare or very specific and Disney started using them as they were the norm as shortcut to solve problems instead of good writing...
1:24:23- This is the problem with everything. We want what we like to be "cool". It eventually gets "discovered" and then we lament that it isn't what it was. I've seen this with almost all of the things I've loved in my life--- Dungeons and Dragons got "discovered" by Wizards of the Coast and is lame. Surfing got "discovered" by Costco and their Wave Storm boards and now everybody crowds the waves. Small breweries got "discovered" by foodie influencers and then they weren't quiet places to drink with other beer lovers, but destinations to be seen at. I know most of us are just "work-a-day" guys, but we need to learn to enjoy what we enjoy, encourage friends to try, but not go out and try and plead our case to everyone. It all gets ruined when the "cool crowd" "discovers" it.
2:36:40 On that, I'd say Alita: Battle Angel. It's a decent movie, but what elevates it for me is definitely the subjective stuff. I like the looks, and I absolutely love the music.
Aren’t The Witches Of Dathomir originally from the 1994 novel “The Courtship Of Princess Leia” by Dave Wolverton? I’m not sure if they’re mentioned before that novel but they definitely weren’t created for The Clone Wars. P.S. I know they’re different in the TV show compared to the book but they’re still using the same name and concept.
They were a big part of the first Star Wars mmo, released around 2003. A sandbox game called Star Wars Galaxies. Everyone loved going to Dathomir to do Night Sister quest. Or trying to loot them. Early in the game, the last one typically didn't go so well.
I know the director said she was a fan of Kill Bill, but it shouldnt mean first two lines from the antagonist in the first episode are direct rip-offs from that same movie: 1) U and I have unfinished business (The Bride says that to Vernita Green after the kitchen knife fight) 2) Attack me with all ur strength (the Bride says that to Oren-Ishi in the garden of the House of Blue Leaves showdown)
As a Nigerian fan of Star Wars since childhood, I am done with disney star wars😒 I am done with toxic identity politics, garbage writing, and antagonism towards fans. I refuse to even pirate their garbage. I'll stick with Lucas era shows and movies (currently rewatching Clone Wars by Genndy and Feloni) and the EU novels. The only good stuff post Disney are the Fallen order games

Thanks Buddy
Yeah I was quite surprised to see him here, seeing how hard he tried to stay upbeat about all of these shows. I believe when Obi Wan was going, he was still quite hyped, at least at the beginning, when most people were already yawning.
reva was his most hated character up to that point@@MrSheduur
You can only suck from the Disney teet for so long..
I'm reminded of their code:
"A knight is sworn to valor,
His heart knows only virtue,
His blade defends the helpless,
His might upholds the weak,
His word speaks only truth,
His wrath undoes the wicked."
For me Star Wars will always live on in those 6 films, and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. By any chance have you ever played KOTOR?
NOT Space Cops more like The Knights Templar in Space
Hearing Badger and Theory debate and talk Star Wars reminded me of what it was like to be a Star Wars fan back in the late 90s.

These days there are only two things I feel about Disney Star Wars:
Apathy and contempt.
@DarthDevorin Star Wars in name only. It's just used in the title, and that's it. It has nothing to do with Star Wars.
Remember Republic Commando and KOTOR, and the Star Wars games for PS1 & Gameboy?
Those were the days, man.
I sadly agree. Why do the freaks have to takeover established IP? Make your own bullsh*t and own it.
“Apathy is death”
Is that even technically possible. Can you feel nothing as one of two feelings? "If anything could do it I'd imagine it would be Star wars". I started this comment not knowing I was going to paraphrase them on the hatewatch audience lol.

The Last Jedi: We destroyed the legacy of Star Wars.
The Acolyte episode 3: Hold my force thread. 😂🎉
Nailed it
@@VoidPocket Oh, you’re right about Force Awakens. But a lot of us didn’t really accept how bad it was until Last Jedi. Force Awakens benefitted from a ton of us being desperately hopeful. Reminds me of the trailer for the upcoming Borderlands movie, I was like: this casting is so bad they can't have been cast at random, because if they did that they would likely get at least something right and they got every single thing wrong lol
Lol so true
Leslye Headland is a well-written villain.
Badger and Theory going back and forth about whether or not magic is also the Force was good old fashioned nerd debate and I loved it.

Turbin scene makes me appreciate how quick mace windu was to put a saber to anybody’s neck

Or..... make a proper 'family film'. I noticed that 'inside out 2' is doing well in the theater's. Probably cause kids tickets aren't free :-)
The Princess Bride
I think I saw Beaches. Isn’t that the one where the one friend gets cancer and dies a long slow death and then her free spirited best friend takes care of her kids?
I might need to be more specific, that plot could be at least a dozen different chick movies
I'm team Chris. The only thing we can do with Star Wars is break up. Episode three is exactly what I needed to see that. I want to say "thank you" to everyone involved, because they helped me cut through my nostalgic fog.
Revenge of the Sith (as well as the other prequel movies) were flawed. But at least they weren't pushing "The message"
For me it was The Last Jedi after what they did to Luke. Goddamn tragedy

Austin Powers was when DVD really started kicking in for people and becoming affordable. I remember it was (maybe Columbia House?) offering six DVDs for $15. Everyone had it.

To the discussion of a pitch for The Acolyte:
They could have gone back to the period we see in Star Wars The Old Republic MMORPG, or maybe before the Sith demise...
Welcome home, Theory.
"The worst thing was when geek culture got invaded by tourists..." Absolutely bang on.....When Nerdy hobbies became trendy, trendy people wanted to get into nerdy hobbies....with the result being they burn it down then move on to the next trendy thing like locusts on a carcass.....
1:05:52 ''Now she wants to do the Old Republic'', NOOOOOOOOOO! Please don't.
Rest in Piece Star Wars. Great to see theory again after his Episode 3 reaction.
Star Wars is a tarnished brand that cannot be revived.
Disney should buy Mcdonald's next and make the menu vegan.
I was surprised to find out that McDonald's is actually bigger than Disney
Or by the Yankees and turn them into a soccer team.
Can’t wait for Pitch Meeting to skewer this!
It'll be super easy, barely an inconvenience
I'm gonna need you to get aaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllll the way off my back about it
He's the guy from the youtube!
The reason the Acolyte got made is that there are no visible consequences to failure.
Listening to Theory and Badger debate what is magic and what is the force was great, pulling out old books, peak Star Wars nerdom.
Brilliant!
Twisters actually looks so fun. They literally are trying to destroy the tornadoes with anti tornado drones
I just don’t want them touching Old Republic stuff.
Leslye Headland is getting a Kotor Show greenlit in a written interview, revolving around Kreia
@@MysticTroll she's gonna fuck it all up. She needs to be stopped
1:19:04 That was a profound f*ckup from all parties involved 🤷🏾♂️💯😂 The original trio together onscreen again would’ve been great to see!
“Star Wars--From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker.” First thing Disney forgot
That opening was frickin awesome!!! The power of one...
I find myself agreeing with theory
What I remember about the Asoka series was how horrible Dawson's light saber fighting was, especially in the final episodes.
2:38:10 You should really check out the composer's who worked on Bioware's Star Wars The Old Republic MMO. They've made some amazing stuff!
I know the director said she was a fan of Kill Bill, but it shouldnt mean first two lines from the antagonist in the first episode are direct rip-offs from that same movie:
1) U and I have unfinished business (The Bride says that to Vernita Green after the kitchen knife fight)
2) Attack me with all ur strength (the Bride says that to Oren-Ishi in the garden of the House of Blue Leaves showdown)
