    I finally was able to get my hands on the new Toadfish Spinning Reel which is possibly the new best inshore fishing reel! I headed out on the kayak to put that question to the test and I got on an incredible sheepshead and redfish bite! I caught way beyond my limit (all catch and release) and got a couple big overslot drum to round out an exceptional day on the water. Is this the new best inshore fishing reel? I think time will tell.
    Overall I was very happy with the performance of this Toadfish Spinning Reel and I'm excited to continue to test it down the road. Saltwater fishing is always tough on fishing reels, but kayak fishing can be downright brutal to them! This thing took splashes, got muddy and had a ton of drag ripped out on its first trip out with me and took all of it in stride. I have to say I was very impressed with the reel and look forward to many more trips!

    You are the sheepshead king! Nice rod and reel set up. I have switched almost exclusively to baitcast reels for verticals jigging now. A lot easier to drop line and adjust line depth one handed while kayak fishing.

      Haha thank you! I've heard great things about using them for this style of jigging and might have to give it a shot sometime soon! Appreciate your report on them.

    LOL!!! That was funny! "He swims!" Oh yeah, of course, he's a fish. We know you meant because of his tail, but it was the way you said it. I have the Toadfish rod that my son Lawton bought me for my birthday so I'm going to get the same setup that you have. Thanks for the awesome video!

      I think I really meant to say "he swims so well" haha but glad you enjoyed it. And nice I don't think you'll be disappointed! That reel feels great and has already landed a few beasts!

    That is the exact rig I want. Toadfish was at the Bassmasters Classic. They had an abundance of those reels. Very impressive feel! Can’t wait to purchase that same setup you fished with!

    How does the size of this reel compare to the 3000 size of other manufacturers like Shimano? Seriously considering these reels for my Toadfish travel rods. Great video!

    • @MakeTimeForFishing
      @MakeTimeForFishing  2 года назад +1

      I think the reel is very comparable size to my other brand 3000 reels. I've an even bigger fan of them now that the Toadfish reels have a power handle option too! Thanks so much for watching!

    • @MakeTimeForFishing
      @MakeTimeForFishing  2 года назад +1

      A couple popular suggestions: breach inlet (either side), Pitt Street Bridge (avoid at low tide it gets very shallow) and Mount Pleasant Fishing Pier are all good options. Hope you have some luck!
